And was he joking about a plug-in hybrid variant? Weighing 3,000 kilograms and plugging about like a vulgar vacuum cleaner? -sigh-
Enjoyable video as ever Harry. One thing that the light colour of the test car highlighted for me,and I hadn't really noticed before, is how relatively short the front overhang is thanks to pushing the front axle forward on the new platform. Obviously has the benefit of putting more of the engine behind the axle line too by default. You are correct though, despite being a massively excellent piece of engineering, is it really in tune now with todays mood (even pre CV19) ? Interesting times indeed !

My favourite Bentley, and perhaps my favourite car ever. I absolutely love this beast. Probably the only car I would take over the Mercedes-Benz S-Class S650, which I have driven. The Bentley Continental GT Coupé is not really for me. I can get over the looks for sure. I prioritize the feel, luxury, and drive of any car over its looks. I wish I could rent and live with it for a few weeks, at least. I certainly can get use to the large pillars. My C-Class kinda has giant pillars too and so did an older Merc SUV I had. I am in-love with this Bentley and it seems like a joy to drive and sit in. Very luxurious. Cheers, Harry. Stay safe.

So glad it's got the twin glass roof, otherwise i think - despite the size, that the interior would feel a little claustrophobic with those small windows. The glass in the roof evens the whole lot out very nicely. That interior is stunning, i love the chrome trims on everything.

Why is everyone disappointed with the Tail end of the car. Too me it's a great fit. I don't know everyone has their own Opinion. Bentley did an excellent job with the Car.
Great review of a great car. I think it looks stunning from the front and side. The rear looks good but I'd say it's the least attractive side of it. The interior is probably the best and most beautiful in the industry. The view out is what disappoints me. I cannot believe the size of that B pillar, compromising access and visibility in an otherwise perfect car! I kinda disagree with you slightly on the engine. I think that engine suits the car perfectly and gives it plenty of effortless performance. This car will never be a rational purchase, it's an ultra-luxury item, and fuel economy isn't a very concerning factor in this specific market. Especially at that price point, there definitely won't be enough of them anyway to create any kind of damage to the environment.
Love the front but haven’t been a fan of the rear, prefer the Mulsanne’s rear but overall it’s a good looking car. I’d compare it to the Ghost and compare the Mulsanne to the Phantom VIII, this vehicle in my opinion is a blend between a car that you could be chauffeured in and one you can drive as well and they’ve done a great job.
8:20 - It's quite (a bit more) enclosed because the engine is moved back; so the firewall/dashboard must move back also. And, Bentley (perhaps understandably) don't want to compromise the rear space in the sedan version as much as the coupe version.
Trust Harry..that observation on the size of the B pillars, the way they impinge on the opening, the view where the seat is positioned, and the fact that the windows/glazing misleads/misdirects the size of the opening as it is much larger than the space interior opening is very clear...Haven’t seen one other review which draws attention to it...👏👏👍👍
Can’t be happier with another Harry’s review , literally they are all what’s right , proper test, review , scenario. It’s addictive . The grill mmm probably another eco-friendly bug crash counter measure ? Who knows , I wonder the cost of hitting a big fat pigeon in the road . Who knows . Harry thanks and keep going !
At least where I live, it feels a world of large SUVs. So refreshing to visit a traditional (granted large) form of vehicle and one that cossets and seems so charming.

Fascinating - as always Harry.
Don’t know what is worst: the plastic grill or the illuminated “B”.
Who goes around patting grills? Illuminated B is optional. And, yes, it's pedestrian regulations, not greed.
Those will the money to buy it will love the illuminated "B" and never even go near the grill.
8:20 - It's quite (a bit more) enclosed because the engine is moved back; so the firewall/dashboard must move back also.
And, Bentley (perhaps understandably) don't want to compromise the rear space in the sedan version as much as the coupe version.
The front end looks like a late 90's Corolla, the model known as the "bugeye"..
I was wondering what it reminded me of!
He already said pedestrian safety regulations.
@@krane15 Oh okay, that's a valid excuse for it looking rubbish then...
@@buggs9950 There's no accounting for taste; and haters gonna hate.
@@krane15 Then what's your point?
Piano black turnip trim. You'll appreciate I had to replay that bit.
Small windows are a no no for me. Claustrophobic.
I'm sure that's the reason you won't buy this $275,000 vehicle...
@@LigerSupremacy i honestly hate the big engine, i prefer my 1.3 fiat engine.
Trust Harry..that observation on the size of the B pillars, the way they impinge on the opening, the view where the seat is positioned, and the fact that the windows/glazing misleads/misdirects the size of the opening as it is much larger than the space interior opening is very clear...Haven’t seen one other review which draws attention to it...👏👏👍👍
I shouldn't like this car but I do, it's magnificent.
Great review thanks. Absolutely incredible piece of kit. Cheers
Immaculate review..fantastic absolutely fantastic limo apart from that plastic grill..Horrendous
R U trying to be offensive BPMblack plastics matter. Lmao
North Sails T-shirt. That Man knows.
The looks are a bit bit naff for a Bentley.
Conti GT all the way.
*imagine buying that only to find out 10 years later it's worth the same as a Mondeo*
Imagine buying it in 10years for the price of a Mondeo :-)
imagine keeping car for 10 years, peasant.
V8 I’m half way through ownership of my 2015 Mazda3.
@@V8_screw_electric_cars this or imagine not having enough space to keep your cars
thanks Harry! love the content, as always.
6:37 You knowwwwww
At least where I live, it feels a world of large SUVs. So refreshing to visit a traditional (granted large) form of vehicle and one that cossets and seems so charming.
