Yes, that's a very good point. Chris Harris was vastly superior alone in his own RUclips channel. Harry is skilled, but like Chris Harris I think he is doing a better job here than he would do in a program like Top Gear.
Harry is like an old zen master...ooozing with wisdom accrued over years of experience...you could seat for days just listen to him share his knowledge on cars and never get bored!!!!
I have always said part of the allure of the range rover was the lofty seating position with the low window position , this is the first time i hear a test reviewer mentioning the difference between Rangie and Bentayga ... i still prefer the looks of the Rangie .. Great review as always Harry
Now that's what I love most. A road trip, inclement weather, difficult terrain, and you're insulated from it all surrounded by complete luxury with an effortlessly powerful engine. A sort of lazy man's adventure :P Great review as always Harry.
It might have the finest leather. It might have the best wood decorations available.Best stitching and details. But i cant get over the fact, that it came out the dirty VAG hands. Cant help it. It has the VAG DNA inside it. It smells VAG. And thats it.
Great video Harry. Two things though, in France the motorway speed limits are 130 in the dry and 110 in the wet so most probably the cruise control is pick that up. Don't use the cruise control in the wet, it can bite you in the rear.
Sleepingdragon 1 Imagine if he posted vids everyday with click bait... "Drove my daughter to high school in Lamborghini. Free rides to all." Or "how I can afford what I do for a living." "Wrecked lambo" not his though.
@MaxTheRaven Most likely he's seen it from the anti Trump crowd a million times. I'm by no means a Trump supporter but that is the first time I've seen someone act like a typical lib. It's almost always been a anti Trumper posting useless BS like he did.

quality review as always. Harry has the ability to tell it as it is without resorting to 'top gear' silliness. if he doesn't like something,he tells us what and why.
Not seen this one before and really enjoyed it 👍🏻 I think I watched it as I’d bought my dad recently a second hand diesel one and the only word is “WOW” It replaced his BMW X5 3litre diesel , which he loved and was an awesome vehicle for his use, especially as it can seat 7, as he enjoys taking the grandkids out for drives and treats etc, but blimey the V8 diesel is something else We had it chipped and it’s got over 500hp & 1,000Nm and averages 35mpg The class and the interior and the ambiance and the smile it brings to his face is worth every penny They don’t do the diesel in the face-lifted version, but the older shape has aged well and is basically the same And it’s so much fun finding new Bentley “B’s” on a weekly basis when we pop out as a family for lunch 👍🏻
Sverre Nilsen No doubt. I don't care to hear about all the personal problems a youtuber may talk about. I love Harry's channel for the fact based or educated opinion that you'll find in every upload. Everything he says seems to be interesting. No bogging you down with endless "collection" bait click. No bait click whatsoever. Gotta love this channel.
The Swiss Autobahn is boring, that's why we often go over to Germany to test our cars at speed. Any car can do 120kmh.. we got some great alpine passes though
Thanks for the excellent review Harry, as always. With the kind of cars you typically feature, I always feel we get a 'view' not just a 'review' from the kind of person who would / could actually buy & use the car, not just hand it back after the photo shoot. Regards the Bentayga - its excess in every which way to me, its polar opposite in everything I look for in a car.
I personally really like the way the Bentayga looks. I mean it's a full size SUV so it's always going to look kind of like a big box. Not that my opinion really matters as I'm by no means able to afford one, but if I could, I would.
Maxis Blog it’s ugly and looks like a London taxi it has no place in Bentleys model line up I would rather buy a q8 instead and save the cash for a proper Bentley a gt coupe
+Harry's garage - Great review as always Harry but this car is an absolute dog to look at and god only knows what the depreciation will be like on one of these. Seeing loads of these in Lytham currently. Proper nouveau riche/chav done good kind of car.
I fully agree with you looks-wise. Quite a few people seem to think the car as a footballers' car which is beyond me, sure this car isn't meant to appeal to the masses in terms of looks, all it tries to do is carry on with B's design language. The front end certainly does that though not a fan of the indicators being blank in the middle, the rear is where they've lost it. Much too similar to the Q7, there definitely needs to be something to set the two apart, something more radical. Couple of the comments here compare it to a Touraeg, hard to see it as its based on the new Q7, sure they're owned by VAG but immediately assuming it looks like a VW? Childish. I can see people saying its a Q7 but seriously? a Touraeg? Anyway, fantastic review, glad to have found the channel.
Great video reviews and insight, personally I’ll never get to drive cars like this, but this is about as close as you can get to actually being there. So much better than others the passion the knowledge and just the simple stuff like actually seeing the engine, Clarkson was right I don’t want to see a four banger, but I do want to see a w12 or a big v8 with turbos which is where he gets it wrong. As others have said seeing these cars go sideways round tracks is so dysmal, but seeing them being used as intended - great.
Sagacious, insightful and utterly believable, honest opinions, again. I think you've cracked this car reviewing vlog malarky, sir ... there are 5 or 6 young motoring hacks with genuine talent, as you know, you employed a few of them, Harry. But even the best of the young jedi journo's can still learn something from Yoda Metcalfe.
As a long termer ownership perspective, I would spec it like that, 1 less thing to go wrong and annoy the experience. Same with the senseless back lowering and all that driving assistance things.
For fun driving I recommend flying into Chiang Mai, getting hold of a Hilux, and setting out to explore the "Mae Hong Son Loop" (plenty of videos on here to show it). I've spent 15 years learning it as far round as Mae Sariang, and loved every moment. Looking forward to getting the Ariel Nomad and tackling it without my wife screaming at me to slow down . . . .
a very perfect color, inside in porcelan, perfectly with a black sky - only to drive at left side for me as a German Guy very difficult to imagine - but thank your for the nice journey to watch with you
Some little things about the interior are kind of off putting for one of the most expensive SUV's you can buy today. Such as the rear seats not having any type of automatic controls. You would think they would at least add a simple power forward and backward. And that squeak! Those detachable rear screens should have a way of going down automatically also I feel. It's kind of just stuck there. Also I notice a lot of plastic bits all around the interior. Doesn't really give off a $200K SUV feel to me.
Thank you Harry for another interesting video. I'm sorry but I'm one of those Englishmen who thinks that selling Rolls Royce and Bentley to the Germans was a mistake. It should never have happened, I'm ashamed that the money required to modernise both marques couldn't have been raised in the United Kingdom instead of Germany. In my opinion both marques look a bit gaudy since the Germans have owned them. It's a shame because they are beautifully made the workmanship is amazing. 🇬🇧 🏴
For that price there should be zero black plastic grills. Also the rear monitors should be able to disappear into the seat back with a push of a button. No?
They retract on the Mulsanne. This car has a lot of cheap touches like the sun visors and vanity mirrors which are straight off an Audi. The Mulsanne has glass switchgear too, not the plastic you see here. The Mulsanne will be missed.
The reason for the windshield to not let much through it: InfraredReflecting glass. Very Good invention!! Once u have it you cant live withouth..especially on hot summer days. Its a huge difference
Fabulous car...fabulous review, as ever. The only off-putting aspect, apart from the quarter-gazillion quid, would be those screens - 'in the faces' of those in the rear seats; whether the screen was 'installed' or 'removed', the black support left behind would be a dreadful spectacle to behold, imho. Anyway, thanks for sharing!
Now from less than GBP90k for a four-year-old low-mileage example, I'm starting to get interested in the possibility of owning one. However, one thing I note is the mpg compared to the new Conti GT. As far as I understand it, the Bentayga was the first Bentley to get the heavily revised version of the W12 that's in the new Conti GT. Unless something dramatic changed in the two years between the launch of Bentayga and Conti GT, the difference in mpg Harry achieved on a run with both cars is about 8mpg in favour of the Conti GT. So, that seems to suggest that 8mpg is being lost mainly due to the greater air resistance and of course the extra weight. Amazing that it would equate to such a difference in fuel economy. Anyway, it's still not bad for such a big car with such a big engine, and for those who are really bothered there's diesel and now hybrid. Of course, with various places banning diesels, even those that are Euro 6d compliant, it means that if you want to run such a car on a daily basis, you're faced with a choice between the W12 or a V6 hybrid, and for me that means no choice but to choose the W12. I think I'd otherwise opt for an Audi Q7 or e-tron. It seems I am one of the few that like the R-R Cullinan. What can I say, other than I don't really like SUVs, but I think their practicality, ease of getting in/out, and greater visibility makes the case for them as daily drivers. Anyway, with the cheapest Cullinan being almost three times the price of the cheapest Bentayga, even though I think the Bentayga is uglier, looking more like a London taxi to me, I think the depreciation is making its case rather strongly. Of course, there's likely a lot more depreciation to come, but probably less over the next five years than buying a new Audi. And even though they're both VAG products on the same platform, even though I think R-R are a step or two above Bentley as far as quality goes, a used Bentayga seems to be hitting a sweet spot, being similarly priced to a well-optioned new Audi. Yeah, I'm now paying attention, which I really did not until now.
This as usual a great review from Harry but which unfortunately ignores the elephant in the room, which is that the Bentley is simply a tarted up Audi Q7. None of the reviewers can mention this or Bentley won't give them any more cars to play with. It's standard practice among car companies. The body shell is pretty well identical, you can't tell them apart. I'm weighing up the purchase of this or a Range Rover Autobiography SV Supercharged so have looked exhaustively at each. The Rangie has always been a distinctive prestige car, easily recognised and admired. The 600 bhp Bentley is faster than the 550 bhp Rangie but the margin will be academic for most owners. The interior quality of the Bentley is slightly, only slightly, better than the Rangie, I was pleasantly surprised at the leather and fittings in the Autobiography. The gadgets in each car are the same. The lack of a low range box in the Bentley leaves it about 40% short on torque at the wheels where it's needed. The shallow wading depth of the Bentley is because they couldn't be bothered to lead the air intakes up under the bonnet. The lack of a spare wheel where there is space to stow one is appalling. Space savers aren't wheels especially as where I am you can be more than 400 miles from the nearest decent town. And the Bentley "wheel" is a real joke, you have to inflate it yourself. Where do you put the dirty wheel you just took off? My dealer tells me the Bentley is selling well, why not it's an outstanding town car - except for one thing. When one passes you in the street you won't notice, because it looks identical to the common or garden Audi Q7.
I drive the Continental GT with V8 and W12 and despite the opinion of motoring journalists who prefer the V8, I much prefer the W12. The sound! I'm a bass player and it's the best bass sound in a car.
You have a great bit of class Harry. Not at all like the rest of the filthy rich (yes Im making an assumption here, its just my 2nd vid of yours iv seen) car people on YT. No smugness, no look at me-ness. Keep it up! Hope Mrs Harry doesnt get fed up with it while shes in the passenger seat.

Harry - its a positive feature that the car recogises all speed limits. Speaking from experience when driving thru Switerrland
Harry, your enthusiasm is soo contagious. You are the daddy of car reviewers!

I like how he just randomly uses a Pagani bag for luggage! :P

Love your reviews Harry. If I had the bucks I would like one with a windscreen washer.
Harry-You need to take a Roda trip to Sinsheim Museum in Germany. Lots of F1 cars and really interesting other vehicles.
Harry - you're a great guy - you have quite the life and I'm extremely jealous!
Nice video Harry. You must have a very very tough life ;) Love the efforts you make in your video's. First class!
Don't like the car, but still like the review. Harry knows how it's done. Good stuff.
I drive the Continental GT with V8 and W12 and despite the opinion of motoring journalists who prefer the V8, I much prefer the W12. The sound! I'm a bass player and it's the best bass sound in a car.
truly superb work harry
You have a great bit of class Harry. Not at all like the rest of the filthy rich (yes Im making an assumption here, its just my 2nd vid of yours iv seen) car people on YT. No smugness, no look at me-ness. Keep it up!
Hope Mrs Harry doesnt get fed up with it while shes in the passenger seat.
When you are on the automobn we're you in sport mode, cause I'm sure that could of made a big difference in fill at high speeds
Only Harry would have a Pagani bag in the trunk :D 9:19
