Pretty remarkable. I also can't believe that I just used the words "practical" with "Lamborghini" in the same sentence.
Harry, you've made a very good point about the right-hand shift paddle to put it into Drive: With any paddle-shift that is affixed to the steering wheel (which it should be for racing), in the city, it's almost impossible to locate the proper paddle when parking/reverse/drive/etc. These should be affixed to the steering column as it's a road vehicle. If they then wanted to use the right-hand paddle for Drive, rather than a centre console shift mechanism, it would work far better when you need to locate the right-hand paddle to select Drive.
Everybody tests the Urus on mountain roads. Harry, "take it to the pasture and slide about with it, its the right place for an old tractor manufacturer and it is what Feruccio would have wanted". Should have transferred some bulls in a trailer between pastures as well to show of the towing capacity. Opening hoods on cars, SUV's and trucks these days is a rather sad affair. I suspect the radar cruise control and other features being turned off when you're in sporty drive modes is due to false activations if you come up behind somebody quickly etc. I know Shmee had issues with his AMG GT R where the radar features kept activating when he was on track.
@@om606channel Apart from looks which are subjective, wagons are better in every way unless you need to go off-road. I don't know why people love SUVs so much, They're heavier, slower, worse on fuel, and usually have a smaller boot than an equivalent wagon.
The more (sporty ones) there are, the more likely you're gonna get side swiped by someone doing 60 in a 30 in one, and will die (unless you also have an SUV).
To be honest I switched off when I saw where the emissions had relegated the "Hot V" to in the car. Ridiculous and sad. Regulations have already wrecked the look of front engine cars (See: Harrys 550 video), now they're wrecking the weight distribution and handling too. I'll come back and watch the rest later when I'm not so pissed off!
Excellent review, you were having a great time, like a kid at Christmas, good stuff and awesome set of wheels. You couldn't hide the fact that the car was fun to drive, nice one !!!
Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Harry, but I do get very frustrated with the audio quality - something I've mentioned before. It really isn't hard to fix - just a separate mic for voice and a tiny bit of work in editing. As things are, much of the middle of this video (the bits shot in the field) is rrrr rrr rrr from the engine and mumble mumble mumble from Harry. Harry is worth listening to, almost more than any other motoring journalist out there, and it's a shame that this lets the game down.
I've been bitching about that for years. I stopped watching over a year and a half ago a thought surely the cheap bastard would have coughed up a few pounds for a mic. No. He takes no pride in his "work" - he's just phoning it in.
@@1225KPH Heh heh I wouldn't be quite as harsh but yes I am a little perplexed as Harry uses a mic whenever he does the pre-auction walkabouts. And the audio then is superb, so why not for the regular episodes?

Deep pockets for that one. Mr M, still manages more smiles to the mile with his XJC. I am waiting with baited breath what further tuning delights are in the pipeline for it. Mr. M, treat it to some bodywork. You know it makes sense as it’s one of the rarest motors in your collection. 😁
I loathe SUVs. There is nothing they do better than "normal" cars other than look more aggressive to compensate for the owner's (well, the driver's, the bank usually owns the car) shortcomings.
@@ariescustom Why should I? Nobody outside of car reviewers will ever take this car off road. There are much better options for off-roading at the fraction of the cost; as are on-road options. It is horribly compromised.
"There is nothing they do better than "normal" cars" Clearly this does something far better than it's road-going Lambo stablemates. Just proving your jealous-ass wrong, is all. Have a nice day.
I love this so much. A practical Lambo is what has been missing from their range - albeit an expensive version. The turbo placement worries me. You mentioned a plus for where they are placed but there must be an incredible amount of heat generated having the turbos tucked down in the V and then the CATS are shoehorned up there too, thats got to be a crazy amount of heat to get rid of especially with all the plastic crap under the bonnet these days. How do they achieve that?
I must admit I do wonder why motoring journalists do off road segments with cars like these any more, they long ago ceased to be off road vehicles, they are what they are, lifestyle vehicles for lifestyle people.
Is it normal to have that amount of exposed wires under a vehicle? I don't own an SUV, just an old audi a6 but was surprised to see the wires exposed like that underneath. I would of thought they'd off all been covered.
Harry you will have to do a comparison between this guy and the Stelvio Qudrifoglio as the Stelvio was considered the fastest SUV at this moment. Do you find this guy practical for a daily then? In Madeira there is one. O filmed it from behind and its on youtube. Just a few seconds. Cheers
BMW and Mercedes have been doing hot V TwinTurbo V8‘s for more than five years now. They don’t seem to have a problem with locating the engine behind the front axle (particularly BMW). Audi have always had their engines slung out in front of the front axle largely due to the Quattro configuration.
Nice review. All the tech specs are on urus.lamborghini but you can find all the Urus different package like the carbon fiber kit or the offroad here: ruclips.net/video/Xo1pEPoYi8Y/видео.html
Absolutely top review - watching it made me realise that the VAG group has been keeping its 'character' cupboard well and truly locked. Its definitely not used any of its stocks of character on any of the rest of its seemingly endless range of cars that occupy niches that no-one even knew about or cared existed. Instead its sprinkled it extravagantly on the Lambo with a bit dusted on to the Conti GT as well. If making cars as prosaic as the Tiguan and as low quality as the new Golf means VAG can release a few more cars like this into the wild, then it's a winning strategy. Great review, cracking car, I'd buy one tomorrow if I had the money.
Given how much you enjoyed this car Harry I would luv to see your comments on the Audi RS6 because its 85% the same car for half that price,....the key advantage I saw for the Urus was a further 50 bhp and rear steering beyond that centre of gravity is probably better in the RS6, I noted the RS6 stops just short of 2 tons. The lambo is a additional 200kgs... load space was Audi 1680 litres, Urus 1596 litres, Cayenne 1710 litres. My C7 has all the same tech and engine , heads up CC brakes etc... it made my buy look very sensible....:-) I did finally switch all the safety stuff off, as I prefer to do the driving... and similar to you I prefer round steering wheels and paddles on the column, not steering wheel.
Yes, guys, I think your Ninety would give it a good run for its money. It's not as sustainable as your Ninety and a bit pricier, but it has a nice V8! But it would be fun to include it in one of your ace video edits. Cheers.
5:43 there is good reason why it's not easily possible to take the plastic cover off the engine, you are not supposed to, for you'd be in shock to see the cheap mess underneath.
In this colour does it resemble a Toyota CHR from some angles, or is it me !!!!!!!!!!!!! obviously not the same power output by any stretch of the imagination but Toyota CHR styling Ish I think.

Is that a bonnet shut line or a turbo scoop?
I suspect the radar cruise control and other features being turned off when you're in sporty drive modes is due to false activations if you come up behind somebody quickly etc. I know Shmee had issues with his AMG GT R where the radar features kept activating when he was on track.
I am not a fan of the SUV trend. Dont like the bulky looks that go with the SUV design in general. I like sedan style cars
I used to say the same, then with a family I bought an SUV and I find myself converted.
@@om606channel Apart from looks which are subjective, wagons are better in every way unless you need to go off-road. I don't know why people love SUVs so much, They're heavier, slower, worse on fuel, and usually have a smaller boot than an equivalent wagon.
SOIBand who cares? They don’t don’t take up any more room than a large estate or saloon and no one is forcing you to buy one.
@@stubones Jeez calm down. I just said I dont like em.
The more (sporty ones) there are, the more likely you're gonna get side swiped by someone doing 60 in a 30 in one, and will die (unless you also have an SUV).
I enjoy your reviews immensely. Well, when can we expect the review of the Cullinan?
To be honest I switched off when I saw where the emissions had relegated the "Hot V" to in the car. Ridiculous and sad. Regulations have already wrecked the look of front engine cars (See: Harrys 550 video), now they're wrecking the weight distribution and handling too. I'll come back and watch the rest later when I'm not so pissed off!
Excellent review, you were having a great time, like a kid at Christmas, good stuff and awesome set of wheels. You couldn't hide the fact that the car was fun to drive, nice one !!!
This is one of Harry's best videos. It had me laughing.
Great review! I love the Urus..... got a CTT now, if only the price :-)
Jeeez you guys sound like a barrel of laughs. Great videos and Harry comes across so well. Never noticed the audio 🙄
@@1225KPH Yet here you are, watching his videos, replying to comments that need a lot of scrolling to get to.
@@samrit123in Can't you read? This is the first video I've watched in a year and a half only to find that Harry still hasn't bothered to use a proper microphone in the car. As for posting and scrolling, I'm not a lazy candy-ass like you.
Let's see you do that in a Huracan.
Jealous much
@@ariescustom
Why should I?
Nobody outside of car reviewers will ever take this car off road. There are much better options for off-roading at the fraction of the cost; as are on-road options. It is horribly compromised.
@@mattcarter7275
Not at all, I would never say the same about a Huracan or Aventador.
SUVs are inherently flawed and compromised.
It's a glorious station wagon. Motor sounds good. Looks useless off road due to ground clearance. Reminds me of BMW.
That off-road kit would probably be a good idea here in Finland as well, for winter driving. Snow and ice tends to get _everywhere_.
I find its lack of body roll most impressive in a SUV.
Good review Harry. Thanks for letting me know about the Uris. It's better than I thought. Thanks mate. Cheers, Jim.
I must admit I do wonder why motoring journalists do off road segments with cars like these any more, they long ago ceased to be off road vehicles, they are what they are, lifestyle vehicles for lifestyle people.
Yeah, people stopped driving the Urus off road back in 2016.
Actually that makes it all the more important to test them off road in my opinion. Having said that, I can't see anyone driving a Lambo SUV off road.
Because it's fun!
What's the difference between a lifestyle person and a normal person?
Harry is all lifestyle.
Great passion, driving and editing. But no mention of the original Lamborghini SUV, the LM (?) in the 80’s.
That vibration really grated on me
Your best video to date Harry. Love the green field test, could not be better.
The turn signals sound like those of my grandmother’s ‘71 Dodge Dart.
Is it normal to have that amount of exposed wires under a vehicle? I don't own an SUV, just an old audi a6 but was surprised to see the wires exposed like that underneath. I would of thought they'd off all been covered.
Jesus Christ, that thing is absolutely grotesque.
Not everyone's taste, that's for sure. But it does scream Lambo when you look at it.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
Nope, that would be a Porsche Cayenne...any tall Mercedes...or BMW.
I don't hate the looks- the overall concept of a SUV is more disturbing for me
correct.
Cheers
10 piston brakes? Here I am dreaming of upgrading to 4 pistons for my car...
excellent review of a Lamborghini that will change expectations of what the brand stands for - URUS is a new benchmark of what "fun" means.
Just saw a Urus for the 1st time 2 weeks ago, ang from far i could tell it was a Lambo!
The best looking supercar suv nowadays
Not a fan or the SUV in general but since its harry testing it. 👍 on the video. 👎 on the lambo
ur crazy, best SUV to drive this earth
Brilliant video Sir Harry!
I dont any one else has tested the car in a Field. Those alpackas looked scared.
4:20 wow that's a nice looking piece of plastic, uuh engine.
There is ugly, and there is vile.
That is neither.
It’s simply revoltingly macabre.
This sounds like something Clarkson would say about it!
Mr. Cairo it’s macabre because it makes me want to kill myself.
@@39PSIOnTheDaily better than a fiatrarri
Not too sure about kicking the exhaust rear silencer in order to open the rear tailgate though
Smashing a lambo urus around a field 😂 love it! 👍
Hey do the brake lights flash under heavy braking or? What a clever idea if so. 10:19
Can we borrow it for Farmkhana 2 please Harry? 🤠
Correct.
I was thinking the very same.
stevie 007 - Ha! I was thinking the same!
Strong hints of Focus ST. Maybe its the colour and wheels?
