Hi Harry, I am a Audi/Bentley technician. I live locally to the Cotswolds area and I’m regularly at Daylesford.
I’m happy to meet up and show you the workings of the V8 4.0. The covers are very easy to remove. Fantastic engine!

      is that engine reliable?

    • @AK-fl3nc
      @AK-fl3nc Год назад +51

@@bag2963 For the performance yes. Early engine can suffer with turbo failures. Mainly due to blocked strainers which there is a recall for. Some thermostat issues, coolant loss issues.
Considered one of the more reliable VAG group engines but if there is a failure it will be expensive. C7 rs6 is a sweet spot. C8 has a better engine with improved supporting mods like larger twin intercoolers.
Plenty of plastic components on the engine… time will tell how that fairs..

For many years the Cayenne and Macan looked vastly different. As the Macan became the most popular Porsche vehicle in it's history, little wonder that the Cayenne now looks almost indistinguishable from the Macan, save for the latter's clam shell hood. The name Cayenne is even missing entirely from the rear of the vehicle. Likewise, the Macan's rear taillights were almost indistinguishable from the 911. Porsche knows how to take advantage of marketing it's most popular vehicle attributes. Finally, bravo to Porsche for integrating the tech screen into the dash instead of the stick-on iPad look of almost every other new vehicle.

Definately more Sport than Utility!😂 These cars probably will be the last of their breed, as though manufacturers have decided to go out with a bang on ICE engined models. With that much power & torque, straight line performance is bound to be electrifying with the handling maybe a bit more Stanley knife than the scalpel like precision of a GT3/4. 😀
A bit quiet on the Farm channel lately, looking forward to the next update there. 👍

Oh, thank you very much for your precious "advices" about this amazing SUV Coupe from Porsche.
Listen, dude: this vehicle certainly doesn't need the smart assery comments coming from dudes like you.
What did you expect from still a 2.2 tons heavy SUV in terms of "scalpel like precision of a GT3/GT4...???
For what it is, this is simply the fastest and best driving SUV kind of vehicle on the market, period!
You won't find nothing better and "cheaper" in this performance range of SUVs. The Urus is just a overpriced mad copy of a sports SUV, and by the way: the Urus is just "customer" in the engine bay, because the Lamborghini V8 is just an old version from the Porsche/Audi developed 4.0 liter V8 engine. If you want the original, you simply have to take the Porsche.
Lamborghini is just the V8 engine customer from Porsche/Audi!
Of course the Cayenne Turbo GT is more Sport than Utility... What a fucking dumb question...

That said I dont particularly get the GT with the deletion of the middle rear seat and the carbon roof and ceramic brakes though. It's a big tall heavy SUV, if you are really concerned enough with the center of mass to delete the sunroof in favor of carbon why not get a panamera instead? It's not like you are going to take this offroad and risk destroying 8k worth of brake rotors running through a mud puddle and you can't tow with it because the center exhaust is in the way of where the tow hitch would go. Just watched a Carwow vid and indeed, that Porsche is the fastest of them all.
Beat the 63 GLE s, the Urus Performante and the X5M.
Those rims are a nice touch also:)

@@lukabosnjak3829 I am not sure what you mean? I was talking about cars with a 4-4,4 liter V8 under the bonnet and the cars have 612-666hp/ 750-850Nm.
You seem to be referring to that iPhone on wheels. If you really watched that vid, then you should also know that noone was talking about it and all the talk was about the Porsche and the Lamborghini.

@@IwillBwaiting 4.4l v8 at this age and day is a toy. Another look at a car is power, technology, practicality and safety heck no wonder that Model X will be sold more than ICE competition (because people who are over 9yo do not want to have reliability issues and spending 6x the price for fuel).
Also after accelerating in a Plaid you will be thankful that smell (which you can't even feel anymore), noise and pollution are gone...

Porsche is Porsche and Porsche has always been like this for me since I had my 928S in the first half of the 80s. Porsche never ceases to impress. The last time I was blown away by a Porsche was with a Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo. My God, it was mindblowingly fast on the German Autobahn :)

While Porsche are throwing cars at you, maybe drop a hint that you would like some time with the Porsche Dakar, I can't think of anyone better to review it, all other reviews I have seen, have just been so called reviewers repeating the Porsche marketing BS. It would be nice to have an unbiased review of it.
It has rear seat delete, but nobody has said it you can get luggage back there due to the roll cage, Looks like the welders went OTT that day. Nobody has mentioned its range either, handy to know in the Aussie outback, or the pot-holed riddled Welsh back roads. :)

As always Harry, fascinating to hear your views and share your experience. Surely it has enough performance for any sort of situation. Incredibly able and a bit of a monster but proof that astronomic performance and handling are not always enough to be totally convincing, fuel economy, ouch!😊

Harry…if the Turbo GT is not for you…what do you rate as the best fast SUV? Just curious as I’m considering the Turbo GT, but it 100k more expensive say than a X5M competition or say Cayenne Turbo. Just wondering if its worth the extra money.
