Ah, Cortina d'Ampezzo. Brings back memories. Forty three years ago, just before Christmas, I ventured there with a few friends. Late one evening we went to the town centre and saw something quite strange... British workmen fitting windows in a shop front, so we had a chat. They told us they were making the shop ready for an action scene in a James Bond movie. Basically, they were installing special 'sugar glass' for actors to smash through the following morning. If I remember correctly, guys on motorbikes were going to crash through the window.
Anyway, we then decided to go to a Disco. The moment the staff heard us speaking English, they asked if we were with the James Bond crew, so we laughed and jokingly said yes. To our surprise, they thought we were serious and provided us with free booze all evening. I think we tried every cocktail on the menu. Good times!
Oh yes, the Ferrari... very nice, very nice indeed. I think I'll have three 😂

I think physical maps like that actually have one advantage over digital and that is that they can show you if you have bitten off more than you can chew for you planned route. You can lose the perception of distance and time with digital. Having to unfold a map and then turn again for the second part of the journey can mean " time taken" .... :)

Massive points for Ferrari for introducing the car with a naturally aspirated V12! Together with the clever suspension it feels Ferrari didn’t take the easy way out, but actually created something that does not exist in the market. 'Cinematography' might be a tad overblown... All things considered, normally, the camerawork (videography?) is quite unimpressive, oblivious of it being taken in the car or outside, by Mrs Met or golden haired son, in the shed/garage or rolling through the south of France.

There's the car, and then there's the video. I now take for granted your succinct and relatable summaries of the car itself, highlighting what makes the car special (or not). But the video quality here was very special. All the different shots from in & outside the car. Hearing the V12 from inside & outside of the tunnels. Watching and listening from behind a thick stand of tall pine trees as you carve a series of S curves and come into the clear. Watching from behind as the suspension works to maintain grip when exiting corners. And, throughout it all, the glorious sound of the engine. Kudos to what seems like a small army of camera people, support staff an video editors. Or is it just you, your son and your wife? Although one of your best videos, it's a crushing blow that it's sold out and I won't be able to trade in my 2008 Honda

One thing for certain, this is definitely not a 4x4 suv. It’s a Ferrari for people that can’t get into a sports car. They nailed it with the looks though, it’s stunning. If I had the money I’m not sure I’d buy one. I’ve had some beautiful expensive cars in my time but all I did was worry about people keying it. Beautiful car.

Interesting about the cabin noise. We just purchased an Alfa Romeo Stelvio TI, it registers quieter on the sound meter. We got on to the sound meter app after watching your videos.
Fun to watch you rev down the roads from Pinzolo over to Cortina. My wife is from there and we have been down those many a time when we visit. Our rental car transport was never near as elegant but we enjoyed the drive.

This car more than likely features the pre-production door seals. Long story short, I asked about them at the Scandinavian launch party in November because they looked odd. The Chief Marketing Director told me that the Euro certification for the final design was something they were waiting on as there was a backlog on some of those things. I suspect that these early pre-production cars feature this door seal. Looking at how silent a Lusso is inside, I know Ferrari knows how to make a quiet cabin.

Thank you Harry. Great video as usual. I'm not a fan of SUVs in general and balk at paying £100k+ for a Jaguar SVR you tested recently, let alone this stratospheric price. In preference I've always bought fast estates (as well as Ferraris and Porsches - have a 991.1 turbo at present) and have an Alpina D3 which is outstanding. IMHO a big omission on Harry's Garage: you should ring up Gary Lott the Alpina boss at Sytner Nottingham and test these Alpina Tourings: super quality, fast, frugal, now all 4x4. I guarantee you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I thought I was gonna hate this one, but then again it does feel like one of the great Ferrari 2+2s, just with a bit more useful bottom clearance and easier entry to the cabin for the more comfortable minded lot.
Gotta say though those dark wheel wells within wheel wells do not do the car any favours in trying to NOT have people call it an SUV…

What an epic drive in a truly exceptional car. Call me old but the idea of having a performance car I can drive and have room for the family not just to get them from point A to point B but to actually be able to share the drive with them is becoming more and more appealing to me all the time and this Purosangue hits the mark perfectly. This is the Ferrari for me. Thanks again for the video. Well done as always and well done Ferrari, Well done indeed.

Glad Ferrari let you have one of the first goes at this car. Along with the 296, a really good looking Ferrari, which I haven't thought for a while. Still pretty silly and impractical but mostly in a good way, and if you can afford it, you likely don't care nor should. I'd have one. Great filming on this trip - you could give a little nod to your camera person occasionally.
