It’s husky and yet graceful.
It reminds me of what a modern day Packard would have been had the company remained focused and survived.

Well said, I wish Packard had survived and thrived in their ultimate luxury form instead of a badged-engineered Hudson before they died in the late 50s.

I wish they’d merged with Hudson. Hudson like Packard had engineering gravitas and would have brought something to the table with the planned merger. Instead they’d merged with bankrupt Studerbaker and the merger brought both brands to their knees. In fact because Studerbaker failed to disclose their financials it led to legislation concerning corporate financial disclosures during mergers.

I think it's because the Impala is more recognizable to car guys. That rounded shape is iconic to Chevy lovers.
The side is beautiful, other angles, not so much imo. The front is too in your face, with the quad headlights and massive blocky grill filled with chrome, not really well styled imo, and the rear is pretty generic.
This man is the only one i know having the balls to say that Rolls Royce interior isn't as nice as Bentley. Such honesty. Respect

He reviewed another car I think last year with similar dials. He didn't know what to call it then, and I told it's called "knurling". I don't think it sunk in.

knurling is roughing for texture for traction. This is defintely not knurling. Look at it, it is prismatic and polished into little mirrors. I would have said jewled finish like a fine watch.
Sterling Smith the definition of knurling is literally, “Knurling is a manufacturing process, typically conducted on a lathe, whereby a pattern of straight, angled or crossed lines is rolled into the material.” Also, that pattern does make it rougher and adds traction.

I like how they finally re-designed the key. As a mechanic I once worked on an older Flying Spur and the key was exactly the same as that of my VW Golf TDI, just without the Bentley logo and more chrome.

I've driven the Rolls Royce Ghost and its very enjoyable to drive , but I'm a Bentley and BMW fan. This is one of my favorite cars , but what I learned is that even if you have the money these cars are kind of a waste of money and the maintenance is insane especially when I see Mark Zuckerberg driving a Volkswagen. Not to mention, its materialism. Very dope and interesting detailed review Doug , excellent work.

Doug was born for reviewing and chatting everything 'automobile'. Delivery style is informative and flows smoothly. Won't be surprised if he is a host/narrator for a broadcast network's auto series in a few years 👍. Also a fan of Wayne's 'Chasing Classic Cars' and NPR's Car Talk.
