      Having someone gush about the removal of stalks doesn't make the absence of the indicator stalk any better. This is a pure cost-cutting measure and a UI disaster. To push this as "amazing UI" is laughable.

      I have a highland and two weeks after getting it someone backed into while parked. Sentry mode caught everything. Def second the above reply, def worth the extra battery usage. Charging a little longer today will save you tons of time/money debating insurance adjusters in the future.

      there's a feature to have it turn off when you are parked in your garage.. i keep mine on 24/7 and have it turned off in my house because the only other person that can hit my car at my house is my wife lol. But seriously it doesnt use that much power.. youre at work for 8 hours and thats only 8 miles of range to protect you from thousands if something were to happen..

    • @Muskar2
      @Muskar2 8 месяцев назад +1

      To me, the dominating factor is not the power draw, it's more the extreme sensitivity. If I park on the street in Denmark I will often get about 1 clip per 2 minutes, mostly from pedestrians just walking within a feet past the car. That wouldn't be a problem if it was very quick to both review and delete the clips, but for me it's often been very slow, buggy and laggy.
      And I have a friend who was hit by small debris from a semi and Tesla's camera resolution just wasn't good enough, and it doesn't provide timestamps or travel speed on the video either. So even though Sentry Mode was a great unexpected addition to the car, it's still lacking compared to a 3rd party dashcam - on top of the power draw.

    • @James-cq9dp
      @James-cq9dp 8 месяцев назад

      @@Muskar2 if you have hundreds of clips then you dont need to review them.. only review them if you notice something thats wrong with your car.. basically its there if you need it and you can ignore the clips if you dont need them.. it auto deletes old clips and replaces them with new ones

    Did a test drive yesterday and was indeed blown away, absoletly want one.
    No stalk for turn lights is outright dangerous in a country with mostly roundabouts like Norway making them unsuitable for driving lessons and it is confirmed to get a reduced security score because of it. Not a dealbraker, but in reality it will just result in me not using turn lights in situations where I should.
    Tesla vision also seems to have a lot of improvement potential and downsides to sensors.
    Overall the price, drive and ease of use puts it ahead of it's competitors for me, but still on the fence financially.

    Fascinating insight into the updated Model 3 from the guys that created it.
    I drive a BMW 128ti. A great car that I have enjoyed driving for three years. I tested the updated Model 3 in February. To be honest, I was shocked. My BMW felt slow, dull, uncomfortable and noisy as hell when I got back in it. The only thing it matched the Tesla on was interior build. And to even be saying that the BMW matched the Tesla is insane. And I only drove the RWD, not the dual motor.
    Anyway, I take delivery of my first EV, and first Tesla, next month. Model 3 RWD in blue metallic.
    The only thing that annoys me is how much more we pay for Teslas in the UK than in the US. My Tesla is costing $52k including sales tax.

      That's why I didn't buy the new model 3. Too many roundabouts everywhere here in Norway, and those buttons on the wheel became very cumbersome and distracting to use after a short while.

    All those little things like stalks and sensors that work in any situation? Sure there are great improvements, but to remove things that work better before having a real alternative is just to much cost cutting. Parking is harder without ultrasound sensors and driving in roundabouts is also harder without stalks. Tesla vision with an added low front camera "might" get us there in 5-10 years. I do appreciate the Acoustic improvements, as I work with that professionally. Also drive comfort has been improved.

    My 2019 Model 3 will average 160 miles using 32 kw which is about the same amount of energy as 1 gallon of gas! My best so far is 160 miles using 30 kw. Absolutely the most powerful and efficient car I have ever owned! Not to mention the regenerative braking is so powerful I hardly ever need to apply the friction brakes.

    Can you make the side repeater lamps (turn signals by the side cameras) always on with the parking lights, then flash off & on then the turn signal is activated? Acura had a sedan like this several years ago & it was safer & looked great.

    Lars, Good to hear that Tesla review feed backs and plug holes. As a new Model 3 owner, I am awaiting to hear about Tesla addressing the blind spot in front of the front bumper. Reverse parking is no problem with high resolution rear view cameras. However, parking straight into a parking bay, cannot judge the distance to the front without camera view. Front view underneath the front bumper or front top view would make the parking much easier. Hope Tesla address this issue in the coming upgrades.
