It would be really helpful if you could put a (very) short summary in the description, as well as the time-stamps to where you start talking about what, so one can easily go to the relevant parts. Great to see you back man! Thanks for another great episode. Like Andy I have to believe that was a defective Fishman, but these things happen and I think we got a good feel for it. To my ears, the Lyric is the winner. Comes at a good time for me because I have to do something about the dreaded Fishman Sonitone in my gig guitar. (Not to be all negative on Fishman--I really like the Aura VT Enhance on my studio Martin and will likely soon be picking up a Fishman SA330x).
make sure frequencies for the unwound strings aren't being cancelled because of phasing on the fishman

You sound is great. Keep up the good work. Especially on a cheap guitar. Ibanez makes great acoustic also on the cheap.
I may have the same issue with Fishman. I have a blend that came with a used Larrivee I bought. It sounds distorted at volume, especially the B string. I may try to turn it around to see if I want to keep it but am inclined to switch it with the Lyric. A group I am in suggests the Anthem instead of the Lyric for the addition of the UST but to my ears the Lyric sounds pretty good especially with EQ.
I ended up replacing the Fishman with a Lyric but found it too boxy sounding. Bought another Fishman humbucker and wired the two together. I use a stereo cable and split the signal at the amp. It now sounds good with about 20% Lyric and 80% humbucker.
Great video! 👍 I think that the fishmans occasion is in low amplitude of strings fluctuations when you playing in high frets, because of small distance between the fret and magnetic pick up. So it produce lower amplitude signal then closer you will be to pick up, and higher amplitude signal then more distance will be between fret you'll playing and the pick up.
Will that happen to the lrbaggs product line?

That was a real shame about the Fishman Rare Earth Blend - it must have been a duff unit. I don't have one of these myself but I reckon the best acoustic sound I've heard consistently over the last few years has been the rare Earth Blend !!!!
you seems like a good and knowledgeable guitar player unfortunately you waist too much time beating around the bush with useless talk instead of comparing the pickup
I call it Gear Gossip for a reason. if you don't like it, don't watch it.
