- LR Baggs Artist, Charlie Worsham, stops by our Nashville loft to gear up for acoustic touring. He shares about his application of effects pedals and his desire to blend in a second source for a pristine acoustic signal to create huge tone with only one instrument. Charlie's M80 soundhole pickup runs through his effected electric rig and we install an Anthem SL for the acoustic DI signal.

Sorry for a post on a 5 year old video but this is the first video that i have run across that uses pedals to enhance the beauty of an acoustic guitar. Inspiration to keep on practicing every day. I am 71 and just took up the guitar after a 50 year layoff from playing. The Venue DI or the Para Acoustic D.I. will be my first pedal purchase. Thank you for making this video.
when you see loyd put his hands on his face in disbelief.....says it all....amazing sound
If Charlie does a solo acoustic tour like he plays here, I'd definitely go see him!
RyanChenMusic Was just in Milwaukee & did an acoustic show. He was great!
Some great sounds with the LR Baggs and pedal combinations!
So beautiful, I love Mississippi in July and that just makes it next level, awesome!
The sound quality on this video is astoundingly impressive, my god, I can hardly believe my ears.
Wow... night and day with the pickup install. Amazing. Been wanting to do this for ages myself.
This video is so great. I love watching this one
I wish Charlie would get the credit and respect he deserves. Man is truly a great.
Thanks for sharing Charlie.....really enjoyed !
Seriously impressive, everything, from the sounds to his playing.
Nice Vid... But I wish they would've done a rig rundown for all the ins & outs like Mike Dawes Rig Rundown Vid
This just blew my mind. Man oh man, wow. I actually don't have words. Unbelievable. Next level. Wow.
Heavenly beautiful! Im addicted to thw sound of the guitar pick up and all the effects arrangement! Its so damn perfect!
Every time I get to thinking I’m pretty good at what I do, someone like Charlie pops up in my feed and knocks me right back down. Amazing.
I’m actually installing a Lyric in my guitar this weekend. Excited to try it out.
I think that is now referred to as wet/dry. I'm glad I saw the two outputs from the guitar, otherwise not a full description in the video of what happened.
Wow, a wonderful watch, thanks for taking the time to put this together.
Can it get any better than this ??? The answer is simple : NO! A m a z i n g sounds, brilliant compositions-arrangements !!! Inspiration & Bliss !!!

What a supremely beautiful glimpse into a divinely ordered heart connection between two masters.
Sounds amazing! dual sourced dream pick ups.. I did something similar when the M1 first came out, installed it into a Takamine guitar that already had a decent UST. which I ran through an acoustic effects modeling processor while I ran the M1a into a volume pedal mixer loop and finally to an acoustic amp. Sounds good but this demo is on another level
So inspiring i ran my taylor with a SD Mag Mic in addition to the ES-2 pickup that comes with, and send the ES output to a cheap behringer Adi21 preamp, and the Magmic to an old-but-thrust Line 6 pod 2.0 and then send the two signals to the main mixer to play live with a band... sounds awesome! And thanks LR Baggs and Charlie for inspire me to try to achive new tones! I hope to swap my ES for the Anthem SL in a near future! Saludos desde México
Wow. Some great sounds. So atmospheric! 👍
could listen to Charlie play 24/7, amazing
Pretty cool set up, love seeing how others play with acoustic sounds.
Whoa!!! You are just what I wanted to hear. Thanks...
The sounds you captured in your first CD, captured me. Love that CD! So looking forward to another! Love your music, vocals, talent, and hard work ethics! Saw and spoke with you briefly at Mohegan sun :) I played professionally along the coast of Maine when I was younger. Hoping to see and hear you again soon. Thanks for sharing!
what an insight this guy Charlie gave to you guys!! a blend of M80 + Anthem is definetely a new product for L.R.Baggs... without the piezo!
great intro! wonderful tones and riffs.
Amazing sound... this is an exceptionally enjoyable video.
I got an education watching these two men. I'm so glad I purchased my lrbaggs di.
So I just bought an M80 to replace the Baggs Element that came in my J45. After watching this I decided to reinstall the Element in addition to the M80. Thanks for the inspiration!
Hey , I was thinking about that , too. Does the M80 fit besides the Element System in a J 45 ?
Soooo coool!!! Thanks for that musical input !!!
Really dig the laid back format. Great playing, tones and vibe. Thanks for turning me on to a great new (to me) artist!
Super cool man I’m about to put an m80 in my Eastman!! Very excited to play out with this rig.
Vince Gill Mentioned your name mate, thats why I'm here, A wise choice
gorgeous sounds - envious - great combinations
Freaking sick. A great player with some great tech supporting him. Love it.
Very nice setup mate 👍🏼 beautiful things
its so good in the ear.. keep up with the good work.
Amazing job Charlie!
Amazing stuff! Really inspires me! Thanks man!
How cool would it be to have Lloyd himself do the install on your guitar!!! And, a bottle of Johnie Walker Double Black… hope I can visit the LR Baggs Nashville Loft someday! BTW, have ordered a RainSong Jumbo with a Stagepro Anthem factory installed… will add an M80 with separate endpin jack and a Y cable like Charlie.
I'd love to see a diagram or write-up of the signal path on Charlie's multiple boards here.
My goodness! This is so inspiring!
Absolutely amazing
that sounds so beautiful. 😃 💕 💕 💕 💕 👍 👍 👍
Awesome I loved the sound😍😍
Best acoustic tones I’ve ever heard!
Is it really acoustic with all those effects?
I could listen to an album of this. Great stuff.
wow...awesome gear, awesome player!
That,s some wild an cool sound !
This is amazing Charlie and sweet that you share it with your fans. Truly great sounds.
Charlie is awesome... saw him at the Opry a few times.
can you please do a rig run down of his pedal board :'(
I have LR Baggs in my Martin. Wish I had it in all my Acoustics. Hope I can find something for my Resonator. Charlie is a monster.
Oh man, this is just wonderful in every way. the playing, the pickups, the fx/amp rig and the tones he has created. Annnnd the loft is so cool, a creative haven! So many great things happening in this vid. Thank you for sharing this!!! :) All smiles. I wish I could get him to share his fx settings.
great sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh man. That tone!
Man Lloyd seems like such a cool guy.
não me canso de apreciar seus dedilhados ... São lindos 😍
I didn't know you could use a Morgan amp with an acoustic guitar. Sounds great. Wondering if I could achieve a similar sound and would like to know more about the amps
Unbelievable sound.
Do I hear a tune Tony Policastro played over and over at around 2:50?? hehe...
LMA0
Why am I just now listening to this? Where the fuck, how I been? This just inspired me to practice more.
เสียงสวรรค์เสียงที่ส่งมาจากฟ้า เสียงลองลอยเพลินเพลินมากๆ
but we didn't really get a run-down on the pedals
That would have taken about 12 days..
David Rogers plus this is the LR Baggs channel so......
It looks like both the pickup outputs are drilled through the end pin block and Lloyd added a strap button above them. I’m guessing that he must have added a wood block inside to screw the strap button to. What do you guys think?
So good
Can we just have an album with this sound already, if it's already out someone please help me find it lol
is there a way to combine the signals of the anthem and M80 into one stereo output jack, rather than have two outputs coming out of the guitar?
I may be wrong here, Im fairly certain... you could wire the mono signals of each pickup to a TRS input jack, then use an insert cable (1/4" TRS stereo jack to dual 1/4" TS mono jacks) then route one of the 1/4" TS jacks to a DI box or amp and the other 1/4" TS jack to an fx pedalboard which goes to its own amp. Or just use a TRS stereo cable to an amp or whatnot, but that source you are plugging into must have its own TRS input jack. Great idea, Im sure it can be done and it would give you alot of cool options.
what the different athem sl with anthem stage pro. pls tell me. thx
I just discovered Charlie but im so catching up
Hi There Mr Baggs, New Zealand calling. I have a Martin D35 (1987), could you advice me what pick up would go well in this guitar... happy New Year From NZ,,,,,, Gib
Great low end sound.
Cracks me up how enthusiastic and polite people from Nashville are about everything. "This was the best afternoon of my life" 😂 Best time ever installing a pickup?
roni5alive lol. Nashville is a place where everyone takes themselves too seriously cause it's Hollywood for country rock and blues musicians so it's almost a relief
What is the white pickup across the sound hole? So this isn't solely a demo of the LR Baggs Anthem? So this is using two systems of pickup? I have to carry my guitar on my back and go around the city on my bicycle as I don't own a car. What kind of amp would be not expensive and light weight to carry? If there is no such thing then I could take the city bus and use my big two wheeled suitcase. Would there be an amp that would sound like what you were using in this video. Thanks also you are phenomenal! You tour all over the country or internationally?
How much will cost to create exactly same padel board ?loving it
I love your music, Charlie. Totally enjoyed this video. Your sound, your music is gorgeous. Are you working on a new record?
Enjoyed this video very much; on a side note, can anyone tell what the small white monitors are?
The M80 in active mode won't overdrive your pedals because of too hot signal?
Totally AWESOME! lol
Anyone know what pedal he's using to get that extended ringing, harmonic sound when he starts playing on his own setup? It sounds amazing and I'd love to get that sound myself.
It is the Strymon...either the El Capistan or the Brigadiere. They both can achieve that type of sound.
Is this the LR Baggs SL Anthem for $299 or $199. It seems there are two different kinds online (one has under saddle, one has microphone). Could someone possibly verify? This one in the video sounds amazing.
Your acoustic tour needs a stop at the Riverside Theater or the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee.
Isn't Milwaukee an Indian name?
LR baggs where can i get the that inside pick up can order??
i really like the sound of it...
I think I'm going to put an Anthem in my Sergio Zepeda acousitc.
awsome Charlie! love your music
wow nice music with soul and fucking crazy effects control! Im stone and im on a plane right now :D
アコギ弾くのにこんなにもエフェクターが必要なんですねー
can i please know all of the effects that you are using? thanking you
Can someone please tell me the name of the song that is played at the very start of the video...
I have the LR Baggs Lyric in my Larrivee.. I use the Align Series Session, Delay and Reverb. I also have a Mel 9, a Freeze...and my looper . I would LOVE to know which Strymon pedal/s he is using for the sweet ambient effects.
My new Larrivee came with the Stagepro Element (barndoor type.) I spoke with someone over at Larrivee recently and was told that I could upgrade to the Anthem (has mic) at a reduced price- basically their cost. It swaps right in and re-uses some of the existing wiring.
@@MOAB-UT relevance ?
@@davekguitars I was responding directly to DIRT. I don't have any experience with Strymon pedals so my response might not have been directly relevant to his question but I thought he still might like to know about some options available for our Larrivees. My comment was somewhat relevant to him since we both have the same guitar with LR Baggs on-board. Since he expressed a personal interest in acquiring new gear, I figured that he may want to consider what options are available for his guitar.
Also, if you read the original post, it talks about blending tone. "...and his desire to blend in a second source for a pristine acoustic signal to create huge tone." In the broader spirit of this thread, my comment is relevant because the LR Baggs Anthem system allows you to do blend tone because it has a mic as well as a bridge pup.
Not relevant either, but nice Sekova. It has a nice full sound. I just bought a Taylor dread. It sounds great but is a bit large- not the most comfortable. Since you are rocking the sound hole pup, you too might want to look at the Anthem system. It will be a big upgrade in tone.
@@MOAB-UT I am DIRT. And I have the Lyric. It's not a sound hole pickup
@@MOAB-UT I literally just picked up a 2018 OMV40 with a side cut Anthem Stagepro.. I took it out and put the Lyric in. I have a prototype patent pending design for dealing with the 'hole'. I have been speaking with John Larrivee .. hopefully getting some of their mahogany to work with.
what should i buy ? anthem sl or full anthem ?? someone helps me...hard to choose.
I wonder if you can use an AB Y cable and run it through a compact tower PA and not need 2 amps to create the same effect.
great video!, hey is there a way to blend the lr baggs anthem with Taylor es2 pickup, I mean having them working as one system, getting an output from one jack....Thanks for the help :)
I believe you would have to have 2 jacks coming out of your guitar, then run the both into a dual source DI.
Wow!
Anyone have helix patches for the ambient things he was doing. that would be killer
Does anyone know what model MARTIN that is? Great sounds and playing, but I still don’t know what pickup or anything else about the signal chain. To better sell your products it would be great to write what he’s using instead of just the production credits. (Love the demo though.)
It’s Rob Martin M-36
muito sentimento nesses acordes ...
what's he using at 532? he calls it a pog or something??
