  • LR Baggs Artist, Charlie Worsham, stops by our Nashville loft to gear up for acoustic touring. He shares about his application of effects pedals and his desire to blend in a second source for a pristine acoustic signal to create huge tone with only one instrument. Charlie's M80 soundhole pickup runs through his effected electric rig and we install an Anthem SL for the acoustic DI signal.
    Director and Editor: Mike Luckett
    Camera Operator: David Johnson
    Production Sound Mixer: Jim Blackstock
    Performance Sound Mixer: Kellen Oleksak
    Post Production Audio Engineer: David Brubaker
    Filmed at: The LR Baggs Loft in Nashville, TN
    Special Thanks to: Brad Henderson, Charlie Worsham and Lloyd Baggs

    Sorry for a post on a 5 year old video but this is the first video that i have run across that uses pedals to enhance the beauty of an acoustic guitar. Inspiration to keep on practicing every day. I am 71 and just took up the guitar after a 50 year layoff from playing. The Venue DI or the Para Acoustic D.I. will be my first pedal purchase. Thank you for making this video.

    Sounds amazing! dual sourced dream pick ups.. I did something similar when the M1 first came out, installed it into a Takamine guitar that already had a decent UST. which I ran through an acoustic effects modeling processor while I ran the M1a into a volume pedal mixer loop and finally to an acoustic amp. Sounds good but this demo is on another level

    So inspiring i ran my taylor with a SD Mag Mic in addition to the ES-2 pickup that comes with, and send the ES output to a cheap behringer Adi21 preamp, and the Magmic to an old-but-thrust Line 6 pod 2.0 and then send the two signals to the main mixer to play live with a band... sounds awesome! And thanks LR Baggs and Charlie for inspire me to try to achive new tones! I hope to swap my ES for the Anthem SL in a near future! Saludos desde México

    La LR Baggs M1 pasiva suena increíble, de verdad. Compré una y estoy encantado. Y la instalación, teniendo un poco de cuidado, no es complicada. Me decidí por la pasiva porque no quiero tener que estar pendiente de cambiar la batería. Uso mi acústica con un amplificador de eléctrica Fender Frontman 65r sin ningún pedal y en el canal limpio. Por si le sirve de ayuda a alguien.

    • @austencampbell146
      @austencampbell146 8 лет назад

      I believe you would have to have 2 jacks coming out of your guitar, then run the both into a dual source DI.

  • @brettstakelin
    @brettstakelin 8 лет назад +2

    is there a way to combine the signals of the anthem and M80 into one stereo output jack, rather than have two outputs coming out of the guitar?

    • @brianpatrick6102
      @brianpatrick6102 8 лет назад +1

      I may be wrong here, Im fairly certain... you could wire the mono signals of each pickup to a TRS input jack, then use an insert cable (1/4" TRS stereo jack to dual 1/4" TS mono jacks) then route one of the 1/4" TS jacks to a DI box or amp and the other 1/4" TS jack to an fx pedalboard which goes to its own amp. Or just use a TRS stereo cable to an amp or whatnot, but that source you are plugging into must have its own TRS input jack. Great idea, Im sure it can be done and it would give you alot of cool options.

    So, I'm confused and I've watched multiple times. How is he getting that organ effect behind his solo playing? is he playing the sustained chorus/organ effect via one amp and the clear clean acoustic tone through the other? If he's using the POD to get that effect then what effect from the POD is he using and is there a stand alone pedal that does something similar?

    • @cjjohnson9325
      @cjjohnson9325 7 лет назад +3

      I believe he is getting it through the Electro Harmonix POG2. I'm guessing he has adjusted the attack control so that the octave notes swell in like an organ. At the same time he has the Anthem's signal running separate from the pedals to get the clean sound along with it.
