      28 years at this and I thought I knew it all. I used to take Sorbo and loseen the handle but that only came at a fixed degree. One day I decided to learn a new technique, and it was worth it. Took a while and some frustration but now it's a breeze. Much quicker. Less drips, runs, and soap marks.

    Best Store Front Video I've Seen. Does the short feather pulls to create the dry spot to start his straight pull, taps the glass to knock off water from squeegee and finishes off detailing only the edge where he started his straight pulls. Very fast and effective, thats how you make good money!

  • @gleambrite2679

    Good to show all the different techniques. Nice video.
    How It took me a full year to get decent at using the swivel, and zero degree techniques. I've been cleaning windows for 28 years. It was worth it. It is much better than straight polling. If you look for perfection this technique is worth learning.
    It will also be faster in the end. Also good to use during the winter months. You can wear gloves, and use the pole to avoid getting your hands, and gloves wet. Anyone who has experience cleaning windows in the winter will understand. Water is your worst enemy.

    Thanks Steve for these vids. Your always on the ball buddy. I bought a Moermon liquidator 2.0 channel , but haven’t got it to work well for my technique yet . I’m a Sorbo guy all the way through. I think because the Sorbo’s have several notches they tend to hold more water before allowing them to streak as quickly maybe . The 2.0 streaks every fan stroke I’ve found ☹️Thanks for your help on the WCR online store too . You helped me when I bought yard signs a few months back .

    Perfect Dick Van Dyke impression at the start there Mr Steve! You do those straight pulls so quick and easy at the start, how the dickens do you pull them off so well. When I do them, after the initial pull down in your example I often leave may be a 2-4 inch water line on the left of the squeegee on the remaining pull downs. Do you just rely on the detail cloth to wipe those lines off or being a commercial clean are they just acceptable to be left? When working left to right like you here, I do tilt the squeegee down to the left when pulling to push the water to the right of the rubber. Also, when trying to pole 1st storey residential windows, I struggle to fan with the pole without leaving skips (excelerator and liquidator), do you come across this?

    • @SteveOthewindowcleaner
      @SteveOthewindowcleaner  5 лет назад +1

      I just detail the top of the window when doing straight pulls, all I leave is a small cloud at the top which the rag takes care of. I can angle the squeegee just right to most of the time not leave a line but I prefer using the excelerator to fan upper windows which leaves no detailing. It is hard to get used to but just keep on practicing, I practiced a long time before feeling comfortable with it

      it's the "snow plow" effect - that wave of water you are pulling off that glass must go somewhere, one side or the other it will bleed off from the rubber of the tool, so just like a snow plow, direct the flow of waste water to the Yet to be Cleaned part of the window, which means the plow/squeegee will always direct water away from the previously cleaned side of the glass, even if this is 4 passes, you will have 4 progressively cleaned "lanes" clean dry glass always directing the stream of waste water to the next wet section, and away from the dry lanes, it doesn't take much angle to your plow... also always to the dry start like SteveO suggested, sometimes it's a finger and a towel, I just use by thumb like a tiny squeegee, make a quick clean n dry pass with my thumb, human skin when damn is a baby squeegee.

      Kiwitown mowing it will always leave a “cloud” at the top that’s what I call it, detailing it with a towel removes the possibility of drips but to really eliminate it all swivel pole tools are the best

    How come you never have to wipe the blade off... I always have to wipe the blade or it leaves streaks or smudges... what am I doing wrong.or is it the equipment

      Leaving solution on the rubber gives it better glide and if you angle the squeegee correctly it wont leave a line down the window

      @@SteveOthewindowcleaner what do you mean leaving solution on the rubber. This is exactly my same question. I always have to use a towel.
