After removing my liner (pool unused for few years when we bought our house) this is what I encountered, only much worse! I dug out all the old vermiculite.I am really skeptical of using this again, although it seems to be the go to in our area. Could I just use this quickrete / sand mixture straight on the dirt instead of the vermiculite? And if so, would that last longer? Ty!
The problem with doing the whole pool like this is the sand mixture doesn't spread as well as the vermiculite does making it tough to work with. It's good for patching holes but in your situation I would stick to the vermiculite.
Aren't you supposed to use a similar vermiculite mix to avoid shifting when expansion occurs? In this case you're using concrete over existing vermiculite.
Nice!

Did you patch in basic concrete with vermiculite? Or did you mix in more vermiculite?
What do you suggest pool krete or vermiculite?
I have been using alot of vermiculite lately to patch over vermiculite as long as it isn't all loose and breaking apart.
Haven't tried the pool krete.
can I glue the old vinyl liner to grout floor?
Did you put foam back on it
Yes we used 1/4 inch foam and 3m spray adhesive to tack it to the floor. Amazingly it stuck pretty well to the soft vermiculite.
Our pool caved in 🥲

would you linex it????
why not just realign the whole surface a couple of mm would that not be better?
