Same thing but with F-22?
For one the point was to show what the Sam systems do, not just to destroy them, if that were the case they would've brought HARMs or standoff weapons. Secondly the radar model in DCS isn't designed to handle stealth aircraft so no stealth aircraft mod is modeled correctly.

These videos do a great job of demonstrating that the US, Russia, and China all have some terrific kit, some that's junk and there are overall different strengths and weaknesses.
It's not remotely one side is all best and the other is all worst.

Reenact the first battle in the pilot episode of the TV show "The Last Ship," the show was based on the 1988 novel of the same name by William Brinkley and it ran for 5 seasons.

@@xpk0228 when helicopters basically become flying boats is the only strategy I can think of that even has a sliver of hope, that and using the terrain; since DDG-151 was less than 2 nm from the arctic terrain for presumed peacetime escort of a CDC scientist on a classified landing and sample recovery mission.
In keeping with the series title the DDG-151 didn't have support ships or AWACS for OTH (or terrain) radar coverage.
Things probably already went to shet by then and they didn't know due to the crew being on EMCON Alpha (Emissions Control Level 4: total radio and radar silence, the most strict level of silence).
So I don't think it's out of the question in that specific scenario for a Russian heli group to get within engagement range and open fire on the destroyer.
Yes, you only get warned at the 10-15nm range when the missile turns on its terminal seeker.
Honestly, I don't know why they don't just use an AIM-9X seeker for terminal homing, but that's another story.

When are you guys going to do another Grim Reapers air show? Jets sound unbelievable through a 9000 watt peavey reinforcement. All black widow equipped. The Electric Lightning sounded the best.
Something has changed in game that makes doing another full air show REALLY difficult ,so will probably not attempt it until game allows.

8:26 this dude interviewed a Patriot operator and he said yes the aircraft will get a warning in the last 4 or 5 seconds or so, definitely not enough time to do anything but pull the ejection handle

CH, please make an F-16XL and a modernized version for testing. This might be the only thing it is not as good as an F-16 at, but in 2023, no sane person would try this. Everything is long-range missile trucking where the XL would shine.

Currently in DCS all mid-high range SAMs are way more effective than in real life because maps lack Earth curvature and radars are overperforming because of this

Just as well for the Ukranians that the real world performance of these systems is significantly poorer than we are seeing in this game.

S-400, designed to intercept cruise missiles. Currently getting wasted by Ukrainian cruise missiles 😅. Not to mention TOR and Pansir….trash
Well that's not quite true. The S-400's are being disabled by minature drones, which then lets the cruise missiles through. Ukraine has found a way of beating these SAMs.
