- We are big fans of the Porsche Taycan, as we are sure you've gathered. Yet oddly, we found the entry level RWD car the most satisfying steer, even if Bryan couldn't be persuaded away from proclaiming the Cross Turismo his Taycan of choice. The practicality of the estate body, added benefit of all-wheel drive and a bit of ground clearance had him almost frothing at the mouth. In fact, he declared the Cross Turismo as his ultimate EV of choice last year. Yet he does love a properly focussed road-going Porsche, especially as he used to own a 968 Sport. So what will he make of the Taycan GTS Sport Turismo? Is this the thunking person's Taycan of choice? Well we gave him one for a bit, told him to drive it over some of his favourite roads and deliver his verdict. Which you can now watch here....

What about the elephant in the room? - the Taycan battery damaging, cheap, onboard charger issue? Reports, especially from a Porsche whistle blower and others, seem to confirm that Porsche continue to ship around 60% Taycans with this built-in problem. As reported by The Electric Viking - Sam Evans recently.

@@Bosse_C If this refers to the optional 20kw charging option, then yes it was an issue. However, I believe this has been fixed in newer models and should be retrospectively so in older ones. There are also issues with the supplied Porsche EVSE and I that is now slated for replacement. Same as every car manufacturer: Porsche has its issues.
They've only just got manufacturing back on track after a massive shortage of 12v batteries and there are those waiting for their (now completed but with no 12v battery), car for, since June

After seeing what Kia can do with their lunatic EV6 GT( at a fraction of the price) this looks just looks so boring and predictable from Porsche. The diehards might love it but I would have the airy modern Kia interior over their gloomy claustrophobic look - and who thought it was going to be a grand idea to put the charge port there? - not anyone who wants to use a Tesla charger that's for sure. Rant over, duck for cover.
