  • Yes, I am back with the helmet painting VLOG! On this edition, we clarify why I was away for so long. Also, how to properly prepare a helmet for the sanding and painting. New FIA rules means new ways to mask a helmet. ENJOY!

Patrice Sorry for your loss, so glad to have you back. I love watching you create even if it's a cup of coffee! Looking forward to more videos, if your old videos were albums I would have worn very deep grooves in them by now, from playing over and over.

Sir, I am very sorry for your loss. Fully understandable. Looking forward to your DETAILS so I can move on with painting my Kart helmet. BTW: I have no problem with you talking in the videos.

Very good to have you back at this Patrice! I really enjoyed your previous videos a lot. Painting helmets myself, I would like to do something similar, but what struck me the last time around, was that it was your editing that really made me enjoy your videos, and I have zero experience in that regard, so I'll stick to the painting instead :)
Looking forward to more content from you good sir - thanks for your effort!

Ahhh! Editing! Man, if only you knew! I've done it for a few years now and I'm still learning. Cheers.

To be honest, I don't know, but I can only imagine it's somewhat just like painting a helmet - people wouldn't believe the amount of work that goes in to it, unless they have tried it themselves 😊
You're style if editing is a bit different, and I really enjoy that a lot!

Sorry for your loss Patrice. Glad your back! I gave up painting helmets years ago due to time, family, work and being intimidated by your and Tyler's designs and technique lol I still love to watch!

Very sorry to hear of the passing of your Mother. My condolences to you and your family. It is nice to see the channel back and the quality of filming and presentation is outstanding. Perhaps your future lies as a cinema director.

Sorry to hear about your tough times. It's good to see you back though. I could have used the masking tips last year when I painted my GP6-S, but I got it done in the end. Getting the tape to stick to the rubber trim was tough. Nothing I had would stick properly!

I heard the 3M purple plastic fine line tape works well on the rubber trims. Gonna have to try it. Keep the paint flowing my friend.

Merci pour tes beaux commentaires. Bravo pour t'être lancé dans l'aventure de la peinture. Ça peut être intimidant au début. Cheers.

always good to see that the process over on this side is almost identical! I had a deja vu with the Avery Yellow dots! if you're ever in Ottawa, pop in for a bevy and we can get caught up with all things Can Con Lid Painting - I get the burn out too - we're both old timers in this now!

Perfect timing. I was asked by friends to customize 3 race helmets and never done this before. I have airbrushing experience but far away from a pro level and never done any helmets so really looking forward to follow the steps and learn some good tips while doing it myself. The video's are really good! Really apreciate the efforts your are doing.

When you could remove the rubber and foam. What was your process for that? Did you replace with new or was there a way to break down the glue?

    Hello Sir
What kind of paint type should I use for airbrushing?

    • @helmetgurucanada
      @helmetgurucanada  Год назад

Whatever you feel confortable with. I use solvent based, automotive paint. There are some very good water-based paint as well.
