Touma actually died 100s of billions and more times, The chapter was called one hundred billion misfortunes but it actually states that he died infinitely so it is not to certain because it was never completely specified but we know for a fact it was at least 100 billion+ times.
touma’s suffering is an indication of his immense strength of character and lack of value in himself subaru’s suffering has indicated similar things but it’s mostly an indication of his need to change and become a better person both are well done in their own regard and fit the purposes of the story they are in
I think there was one SCP character who had to go through the same exact situation. His name was James Talloran of the SCP Foundation who got trapped by an entity named SCP-3999 who was more cruel then Chaos gods in Warhammer 40k are. Bending reality millions of times to see him suffer.
That man basically had the diavolo experience. Maybe even worse, cuz he had to watch his loved ones suffer. Diavolo did not have to see his loved ones get tortured or something.
The thing is about ReZero and Natsuki Subaru is that many others die too not just him...its more painful when you get connected with others and invest yourself emotionaly...

So... Touma experienced every single torture method imaginable by Othinus right? Physically and mentally? It's crazy how it took billions of death and worlds for him to finally lose his mind, his willpower is insane, Subaru could never.
The reason why he gave and wanted to die is cause she made a world with no conflict. All his his friends and family happy, no tragedy and even the evil ones are good people, alongside everyone dead he being alive and confirmed to him 9 billion lifes are happy and living fulling lifes with no conflict in the future or any fights, no poverty or inequality. So, he won and made the god re-make the world without him which is everything he could want. He never gave up until it was for the greater good and there was no logical reason why he should love now cause the perfect world is more important then his life.
The fact that there's never been a worthy adaptation of any of the Raildex universe works is just shameful. Railgun/RGS was the best they've done but we still are only like 70% of the potential there.
Although it's an eternity or Diavolo, he doesn't experience the same kind of torments, although eventually getting a happy ending after all the torment is better than never getting one and dying for eternity

Hello, here is a ReZero and Subaru fan who has never seen Toaru Majutsu No Index and didn't know who Touma is until I saw the video. Personally, what I like most about ReZero is that you connect deeply with all the characters, not just with Subaru, and that every time there is tragedy and Subaru suffers, you suffer with him, whether it be a painful gore death or when Subaru discovered that Ren was the one who had been murdering him during ARC 2 or when Subaru and Emilia got into a fight and Emilia broke off all relations with him (Which by the way, Subaru was wrong here and Emilia was right) or when Subaru gave up and tried to run away only to be stopped by Ren, even the moments when everyone is at peace and happy become yours. For me it is not a question of "quantity" but rather that each death, trauma, pain, shame, and regret is shown in a raw way through Subaru making that pain become your pain too (I can literally remember every death of Subaru , because it feels so personal and emotional that it's impossible not to make them yours too). At one point, you just love Subura and wish him the best, whatever ReZero's future holds. And since I haven't seen Toaru Majutsu No Index nor do I know Touma, I can't compare him with ReZero or Subaru, although I don't like Subaru because of the number of times he dies, if not because of how human he is when it comes to dying (One of my favorite scenes are when he runs away crying while screaming that he doesn't want to die), if all of Touma's deaths are presented with this level of detail and emotional rawness, then he has nothing to envy of ReZero in my opinion but it just depends on the " My protagonist has suffered a lot which makes him badass", so I'm afraid you don't get the essence of ReZero.
In Greed if Subaru die infinity like Diavolo but his count is 100 million in Season 2 Echidna confirmed that Subaru doesn't have Limites of death. In real Subaru also in same condition but more deaths is coming in next Arc's

i think your point still stands, but in recx¿ent parts of the novel subaru has died like a lot more, its explained that every time he dies the time betwen loops becomes shorter, first it was 2 days, after some point it was 10 minutes, after 10 seconds, then 3, and it got to a point where he was just repeting the detah itself, just the moment and he knew nothing more than death, he said, the times he has died was in the hundreds of thousands. but as i said, touma has clearly died more.

Touma entire existence is suffering incarnate he went through hell as a boy and only had small pockets of joy as a young teen and got his memories erased and not just that his entire life was nearly taken from him by a clone made from the destroyed memories while Subaru had a relatively happy normal life so yes Touma suffered more.

Magic gods are painters, they paint over the world they inherited. Imagine Breaker is the only tool capable of removing the paint however.

And since I haven't seen Toaru Majutsu No Index nor do I know Touma, I can't compare him with ReZero or Subaru, although I don't like Subaru because of the number of times he dies, if not because of how human he is when it comes to dying (One of my favorite scenes are when he runs away crying while screaming that he doesn't want to die), if all of Touma's deaths are presented with this level of detail and emotional rawness, then he has nothing to envy of ReZero in my opinion but it just depends on the " My protagonist has suffered a lot which makes him badass", so I'm afraid you don't get the essence of ReZero.

i think your point still stands, but in recx¿ent parts of the novel subaru has died like a lot more, its explained that every time he dies the time betwen loops becomes shorter, first it was 2 days, after some point it was 10 minutes, after 10 seconds, then 3, and it got to a point where he was just repeting the detah itself, just the moment and he knew nothing more than death, he said, the times he has died was in the hundreds of thousands.
