Muchisimas Gracias EL, for giving me this wonderful opportunity to be part of this informational/educational video where other people will be enlighten of the different beautiful languages we have here in the Philippines. And, one of that language is the only Spanish-creole based language in Asia. Wherever you are in the world never forget your own culture, your roots. Carry it with pride!
There are two places where Chavacano language are spoken. The two places are Zamboanga and and Cavite City. The difference are in Zamboanga, Chavacano is a combination of Visayan and Spanish Languages whereas in Cavite City, Chavacano is the combination of Tagalog language and Spanish language. Cavite City was where the Spanish Naval Base were located. I hope you can make a video about the two types of Chavacanos spoken in the Philippines.
May Isa pa pong isang uri Ng chavacano na sinasalita sa lalawigan Ng Cavite, Ternateño Ang katawagan, na sinasalita sa bayan Ng Ternate.. Naibahagi po lamang...
The difference is.. If you go to zamboanga city, it's basically a city that speaks chavacano. Cavite on the otherhand is a city/province that speaks tagalog.
@@deancafe4739 Chavacano in Cavite City are mostly spoken by very old people nowadays.. But around 35 years ago I can still hear a lot of people especially the educated ones in cavite City speaks Chavacanos. The language is quickly vanishing there maybe because the place is near Metro Manila..
Chavacano actually developed from the Spanish language in México, through the galleon trade between the Philippines and México before. So you’ll hear a lot of Mexican words in Chavacano, such as “sacate” (from the Mexican “zacate”), which means “grass”, camote, tomate, etc.
I'm in love with Fernanda, she's so good at translating some of the words. I appreciate her taking her time understanding what they are saying. Love her
✌️😃🇵🇭 *Chavacano Fun Fact:* The official hymn, song, or anthem "Zamboanga Hermosa" is actually in Spanish or in Philippine/Filipino Spanish, and it is not in any form, variant, variety, dialect, version, or register of Chavacano, even in Chavacano de Zamboanga or Zamboangueño Chavacano. The hymn, song, or anthem is entirely written and spelled in Spanish or in Philippine/Filipino Spanish.
@@Ymats-dj1nt Did you mean the first and official Spanish lyrics of the National Anthem of the Philippines adopted from the poem "Filipinas" written by José Palma in 1899 and the original Malolos Constitution/Political Constitution of 1899 (Constitución Política de 1899)? Yes, they are too originally written in Spanish or in Philippine/Filipino Spanish, aside from the official city hymn, song or anthem of Zamboanga City "Zamboanga Hermosa".

Zamboangueño chavacano is based on mexican spanish, so that's why the mexican girl felt right at home. caviteño chavacano on the otherhand is based on castillian spanish.

I’m from Zamboanga and I speak Chavacano. Fernanda from Mexico 🇲🇽 comes closest and more precise in all her translations. This most likely has to do with the similarities in our languages that in history may be traced to the linkage between Philippines and Mexico thru the Galleon Trade or Spanish trading ships for two and a half centuries 1565-1815.
Old Mexican Spanish and Old Chavacano are pretty much the same language some 200+ years ago since Mexicans not the Spaniards colonized that part of the country.
Chavacano and Espanol is striking similar with little differences so Spanish speakers translated it from chavacano word to word is fun and challenging. 😄😄😄

I am Filipino getting better with my Spanish. But I'd probably wont understand Chavacano speakers when I visit Zamboanga. Thank you for these videos. It's binging back some interest in Spanish among our younger generations.
I am a Filipino learning Spanish too and yes Chavacano's main lexifier is Spanish but it's still not the same language so native speakers won't understand much. Learning Chavacano will really only be useful when travelling to Zamboanga and other places in the Philippines where it's spoken. Even then I've heard that it's not spoken by everyone there and that the new generations are not learning it from their parents so it might be dying which is sad. Better to learn standard Spanish to communicate with native speakers from Spain and Latin America but Chavacano is still an interesting creole language to look into.
Google Zamboanga and their beaches, oceans, tuna capital, mangroves and rain forest --- amazing place. Zamboanga Chavacano is based off on the Mexican Spanish variant.
It is because they speak castillian Spanish just like our Philippine Spanish before which is based from Mexican and Castillian Spanish
Spanish galleon trade is the reason why our spanish dialect started from Mexico.
Because Formal Chavacano is Mexican Spanish
