CR or comfort room ... it is because they choose that name mean for "Relieved" yourself from sudden feel uneasy or having emergency want to release you know those wastes... But in official, comfort is more on taking care to other person like feeling.
"Comfort room" was the American colloquialism for toilet when they conquered the Philippines in the early 1900s. The name just stuck through the decades.

To those asking why would a rebel group name themselves MILF, here’s what chatgpt has to say: The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) as a rebel group in the Philippines was founded in 1984. It emerged from a faction of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) during the ongoing conflict in the southern Philippines. The term “MILF” with the other meaning, commonly used on the internet as an acronym for “Mom I’d Like to F***,” became popular in the late 1990s and early 2000s, primarily driven by its usage in American pop culture, particularly in films like American Pie (1999). Therefore, the rebel group Moro Islamic Liberation Front came first, established well before the term gained its alternate meaning in cyberspace.
we call it the CR-or Comfort Room-because there’s nothing quite like the relief you feel stepping out of it. After all, who doesn’t feel a wave of comfort after, let’s say, releasing some bodily pressure (either number one or number two)? And let’s not forget the rejuvenating power of a nice bath. Sure, we know that traditionally, toilets and baths are meant to be separate. But here in the Philippines, we’ve ingeniously combined them to make the most of our space. So when you say, “I’ll go to the CR,” it sounds a lot better than admitting, “I need to use the toilet”-which, let’s be honest, usually implies something less pleasant. Embrace the comfort; the CR is a sanctuary, not just a restroom!

MU, or Mutual Understanding in the Philippines is not for many people in one situation.. it deals with the connection of loving or special emotion between two people only.. which could lead to a boyfriend/girlfriend thing if they make it official. 😊
@@KriegMeister No I'm filipino. We brand two people having MU if we realize they are super lovey dovey and all out caring for each other for the world to see, but not gf/bf yet.. if they become finally gf/bf then they're out of the MU phase. Although not all having MU ends up with each other.
They should've given sample sentences where those acronyms were used, so they can atleast get a hint or context and might guess some right or close to.
Great to hear an honest opinion!! Different countries had different way of saying comfort room(lou, washroom and lavatory)with the same intent of purpose!!Thanks for sharing
"NBSB" one is actually said, by people I know at least, almost pridefully. It's also a more polite way to say: "I'm tired of people asking, so stop asking." LSS was coined before the smartphones, internet and spotify. It was the last song that was playing in the car stereo or from home (usually from FM radio stations) before going to school. Symptoms include humming the song the whole day in school. We didn't have smartphones back then. So we just hum or sang it.

I enjoyed watching this. May I share my take as a Filipino? 1. I think CR is the most appropriate term. Can anybody deny the feel or disconfort when your bladder is about to burst, worse, you tummy about to download on your pants? And ohhh the COMFORT after you're done! Rest room? Who would like to take a nap in there? Wash room? Lavatory? Bathroom? Gimme a break. 2. MILF (the so-called rebels) has been in existence in the Philippines since the 70s if not the 60s... long before the "Mamas I ❤ 2 fkcu" was coined. 3. There's another one that's forgotten; K.J. meaning "Kill Joy".. (a wet blanket) or someone who don't wanna join the fun.
Tbh in the MILF (Moro Islamic Liberation Front) acronym is usually spoken one letter at a time rather than a word like "Mom I'd Like to F***". So rather saying MILF, its usually spoken M.I.L.F. one letter at a time. Though many Filipino males knows the confusion and usually jokes around about the weird acronym. Especially when the Philippine Government did ceasefire with them.
CR - Comfort Room. Very self explanatory. You don't go there to take a BATH or have some REST. You go there to release the tension in your gut so you'll feel COMFORTED. That's the logic.
yes commonly cr is comport room in ph, ,it is usually for malls because toilet ,bath, powder room and changing set for babies diaper is all in one comportable room , , but toilet is use if its solely toilet alone, , commonly like portalit or on household and offices
MU is actually situationship but less on physical and sexual relationship. This is actually more common in high school so it's like a toned down version of situationship. So like you are emotionally attached with each other, it's more on feelings. You have a mutual understanding of your feelings but you don't want to make it official.
Others have commented already that we use "comfort" in comfort room not so much because the room itself is super comfy but to indicate it's a place to relieve discomfort (peeing or pooping). Also, it's considered more polite than saying "toilet" or "bathroom" because CR or comfort room leaves what we're going to do in there ambiguous. Kinda like how people say, "I need to go powder my nose" or "I'm going to the powder room" (although I don't know if people still say that). I remember when my peers started using "MU" mostly because they weren't allowed by their parents to date yet (Catholic country and while we can be liberal about other things, we can be pretty conservative with others). So this kept them and their partners exclusive while not being "official" and therefore get around parental prohibitions. Also it can serve as a sort of tentative step in the world of dating. They can slowly start to date this one person without them dating other people but not fully commit to actions/behaviors that are expected from a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship which they might not be ready for yet.
The guests were saying Mutual Understanding rather than MU. MU is what the relationship is called. People would say “We’re MU.” No one says “I’m in a mutual understanding with her.”
When you feel you are about to piss or shit on your pants the first place that comes to your mind is to go to the restroom. For us Filipinos we feel comforted after releasing that terrible feeling. Same with the word restroom, you get comforted when you rest or release that bad feeling in the CR.
MU can be similar to the "talking stage", getting to know each other with the understanding that both may be heading to a deeper and more exclusive relationship. But this doesnt always mean you two will 100% be a couple.
The context of Mutual Understanding to my understanding is that the Philippines is a predominantly Christian country which frowns upon relationships outside of marriage. So MU is kind of like a stage before official courtship and marriage and is understood to not be about sex, but more of searching for a possible soul mate and meeting of minds. It's also why NBSB and NGSB came to be used to refer to those who never had romantic relationships before.
MU- Mutual Understanding was coined when Filipinos used to be more conservative as compared to nowadays where people are more open-minded. Anyways, men were expected to court the woman they like so MU usually happens during the courtship phase where the woman has not officially agreed to be in a relationship with the man courting her but she definitely likes him. So when the man stops courting her, then we could at least call them as MU.
I'm Filipino, born, raised, and living in the Philippines and I have never used most of these silly acronyms. LSS is actually called "earworm". I guess most Filipinos haven't heard of the word before.
We didn't even invent the term "comfort room". We got that from you Americans decades ago. We just turned it into an acronym. It brings you comfort because you relieve yourself there. Simple as that. We don't pronounce it as "milf". We say each letter, and this group existed long before your version of the "MILF" acronym existed.
The le sserafim sound while highlighting Luzon in Philippines map was so hilarious 😂 the part when someone mentioned that SLR normalized replying late made me reflect life a bit 😂 THE MTRCB COMMERCIALS HAHAHAHAHA I love the humor of this channel 😂❤❤❤
We don't usually just say "MILF", we really spell it out as M.I.L.F. when referring to the rebel group..And given the Philippines is the texting capital of the world, it's not surprising we come up with a lot of shortcuts for words...
CR (comfort room) is actually a remnant of our colonial past with the USA. They brought the word to us Filipinos, but their common term for bathroom eventually evolved into restroom, while the old term became embedded into our culture. To be honest, common Filipino CR is not even that comfortable 😅
The most plausible explanation for CR or comfort room is way back during WWIi when Japan occupied the Philippines. The Japanese military used the Filipino women as “comfort women” which is a nice way to refer to some Filipino women who were raped by the Japanese soldiers and this heinous act was done in the bathrooms or rest rooms, hence comfort room. Pretty gory history of an otherwise innocuous word combination.

(a wet blanket) or someone who don't wanna join the fun.
i need more of this with the same cast
So, if you think that the comfort room has a massage,
that means the restroom has a bed in it.
MILF- “Men i love to fish” 😂😂
First! So good content today~
deym Dana had so much interesting ideas 😂
Tbh in the MILF (Moro Islamic Liberation Front) acronym is usually spoken one letter at a time rather than a word like "Mom I'd Like to F***".
So rather saying MILF, its usually spoken M.I.L.F. one letter at a time.
Though many Filipino males knows the confusion and usually jokes around about the weird acronym. Especially when the Philippine Government did ceasefire with them.
14:12 I almost spit out my drink 🤣
that was out of nowhere 🤣
Josh got the dirtiest mind😂😂😂
CR - Comfort Room. Very self explanatory. You don't go there to take a BATH or have some REST. You go there to release the tension in your gut so you'll feel COMFORTED. That's the logic.
Love this!
yes commonly cr is comport room in ph, ,it is usually for malls because toilet ,bath, powder room and changing set for babies diaper is all in one comportable room
, , but toilet is use if its solely toilet alone, , commonly like portalit or on household and offices
I'm a Filipino and this is the first time I've heard of NBSB or NGSB
It's an pretty old term used when keypad phones are still dominant... you know... it easier to type 4 letters with that 7 letter button keypad.
I thought the girl in red has a singer vibe then she sings, and I was right
MU is actually situationship but less on physical and sexual relationship.
MU is Murag Uyab 😂😂😂😂
When you feel you are about to piss or shit on your pants the first place that comes to your mind is to go to the restroom. For us Filipinos we feel comforted after releasing that terrible feeling. Same with the word restroom, you get comforted when you rest or release that bad feeling in the CR.
The Korean guy looks like Milluki from HXH 😂
9:49 made me laugh out loud that edit was diabolical
i like how u guys try to make ur own definitions of those words (it's funny, coming from a Filipino) 😅😅 - some are convincing though. 👍👍
The way that you're all are thinking what it means is so fucking funny
The le sserafim sound while highlighting Luzon in Philippines map was so hilarious 😂
the part when someone mentioned that SLR normalized replying late made me reflect life a bit 😂
THE MTRCB COMMERCIALS HAHAHAHAHA
I love the humor of this channel 😂❤❤❤
We don't usually just say "MILF", we really spell it out as M.I.L.F. when referring to the rebel group..And given the Philippines is the texting capital of the world, it's not surprising we come up with a lot of shortcuts for words...
CR (comfort room) is actually a remnant of our colonial past with the USA. They brought the word to us Filipinos, but their common term for bathroom eventually evolved into restroom, while the old term became embedded into our culture. To be honest, common Filipino CR is not even that comfortable 😅
Miss England got most of it! She's sooo cool! 😊
The term "Comfort Room" is a Philippine English expression that refers to the sense of relief one experiences when using a small restroom facility.
More of these please
i like the black girl, shes really logical with her answers
This is so funny. Nice Video
15:17 LMFAO HAHAHHA HI SISTERS
CR in The Philippines 🇵🇭. = WC in old English 🇬🇧 (water closet) = wk in old German 🇩🇪 (Wasserkloset).
The edits were so funny 😂
The most plausible explanation for CR or comfort room is way back during WWIi when Japan occupied the Philippines. The Japanese military used the Filipino women as “comfort women” which is a nice way to refer to some Filipino women who were raped by the Japanese soldiers and this heinous act was done in the bathrooms or rest rooms, hence comfort room. Pretty gory history of an otherwise innocuous word combination.
That dog meme cracked me up. 😂😂😂.
