Actually, Chavacano is a Spanish creole. Its vocabulary is based on Spanish but its grammar is Filipino-based and is spoken in Zamboanga City. It was used as a pidgin language way back in the 16th century during the Spanish Colonial Period in the Philippines.

Grammar has nothing to do with Filipino. But Filipinos use the Chavacano people as an excuse to lie about how their own culture is like Latinos. Stop being ashamed of your Filipino culture. Just accept that your Filipino language Tagalok is nothing like Spanish. Love yourself and stop being so insecure. Let the Chavacanos have their Identity. Stop trying to Devalue the claim of your fellow Filipinos. Let the Chavacanos enjoy their spotlight. Dont be cheap. Have your own stage.

@@lainea8628 @RIA No, you should be the one who needs to learn the differences.
Dialects are just variations (in tones and some of the vocabulary) of a language. However, languages are different in terms of its vocabulary and grammar, mainly.
If Cebuano, Ilocano, Waray, etc. are really dialects of "Filipino" which is just a dialect of Tagalog, then can a Tagalog speaker understand them? They are languages, since they won't understand most of what these tongues mean.

The Chavacano version was actually the original version, but the Tagalog was the more popular due to the Manileño's demand to have the song translated.

you can’t really call it a dialect of spanish. it doesn’t share the same grammar structure. but it is a spanish-based creole language

Chavacano is Spanish like a child would speak with some Filipino words thrown in. I grew up in the Philippines and we spoke Spanish at home but I also can only understand maybe 90% because I recognize the Filipino words.

    Letras de "Porque/Por que"
    [Lyrics of ''Porque/Por que'']
(en Chavacano, específicamente en Chavacano de Zamboanga o Zamboangueño Chavacano)
    I.
    Solo solo/Solo-solo na mi cuarto
    Hende/Hinde ta puede dormi
    Vira vira/Vira-vira/Bira bira/Bira-bira na cabeza
    El dolor yo ya senti/sinti
    Refran:
Por que ba contigo yo ya querre/quierre?
Como bula lang tu ya perde
    Coro:
Por que contigo yo ya escogi
    Ahora mi corazon ta sufri
Bien simple lang yo/iyo ta pedi/pidi
Era senti/sinti tu el cosa yo ya senti/sinti
    Ta pedi/pidi milagro
    Vira'l/Bira'l tiempo
    El mali hace derecho
    Na de mio rezo

Not the entired philippines. In zamboanga maybe. In cebu the spanish that we speak are just a few words and i dont think it totals to 85%
