The first time I saw you make a hoop coop, I was in the middle of tending to my mother in her last months of life. It was a honor to care for her, but at times I just needed a space to think. My husband made me a “hoop coop greenhouse” It gave me a place to go “play in the dirt” and gather my thoughts. I love to garden and this hoop greenhouse allowed me to still be close to momma, and give me a sanctuary to briefly rest at the same time. Momma passed in 2020, but the greenhouse is still a place I can reconnect and plant all our garden starts each spring and fall. Thank you so much for your coop plans, so many years ago. Blessings from up the road in Lebanon 💕
I took care of my parents in 2019 . Dad passed in June and mom in August that year. Kevin and Sarah helped me through some hard times too. After a long day of lifting, cleaning, meals, getting baths for both and back tucked in bed, 9 pm was my time, I'd watch them and other shows til I fell asleep. Since then, all I want to do is garden.
Saundra and wordvendor1 Thank you so much for caring for and honoring your parents! There’s not enough of that left in the world. I believe God will honor you for it. And He promises things will go well for us if we honor our parents.
I love seeing you two work together! Such a blessing that your temperaments are so compatible. You are sounding healthier today. Thanks for showing us your methods for caring so well for the animals on your homestead.❤️
Let it rain! Let it rain! Let it rain! Stay cool the best you can!! Silkies are sooooo cute they are the runway fashion chicken of the world!!! love ya guys!
I love the fact that you have continued to work together. That is something you don't see on some homesteads. Family working together to make it all work.I can see it seems to make you both happy to know you are building your new home together. I am very proud of you both, your dreams coming true. Thank you so much !!
They are so cute! It’s been over 100 here for several days here in north Texas too. We would love to see some rain. Praying we all get the rain we need.
Please don't push yourselves so hard in the heat. I'm always still fatigued and it's been over 2 yrs since I had Covid. You outdid yourselves putting out this video. You sound so exhausted!! I hope the Silkies survive the heat! Now please go rest. Melaney from SoCal
Great job on the new hoop coop for the silkies!! You guys built that like professionals!! WOW!! AMAZING!! The sillies are beautiful too. They will adjust just fine & once they realize that is their new home they will be just fine. Congrats on a job well done Kevin & Sarah!!! God bless!!
I am always tickled by Kevin's t-shirts, but the "In my defense I was left unsupervised" one HAD to be added to my wardrobe!! 🤣 Thanks for the inspiration Kevin!
I know that if y’all weren’t teaching us you could have been finished a lot sooner. I appreciate your dedication to teaching the homestead/farm community, and we thank you both.
I know I have said this before but ... you two are amazing people. Such talent, patience, ingenuity, endurance, and togetherness in your work. Amazing ... just amazing!!!
The hoop coop turned out great! I feel for you guys dealing with all that heat! Go home and have a cool shower and try to relax. See ya on the next video. Take care and God Bless ✝️🙏❤️
Hello Kevin & Sarah, The Hoop Coop turned out Really Nice, AS USUAL !! You two work so Great Together, and Love the Videos.. Sharing about the same weather as You All in my Part of MO. (except we sure didn't get a 2 hr. Rain) back to heat & Humidity, except very wee hours of the night/morning. THE SILKIES ARE SO ADORABLE!!! God Bless & LOVE to ALL...💖🙏
You guys are so great to watch. I really love your shirts too! lol. Kevin has the funniest shirts while Sarah, your shirts are beautifully spirited being all JESUS! Love love love it! We have chickens and have had chickens for at least 12 years I think it is. I am going to do another coup for them outside the one yard they have. They keep getting the ground down to just hardened dirt. Picking every last blade of grass including the seeds. lol. ugh. We are going to be selling our 2.3 acres though in the next couple years and living in an RV and playing the snow bird life. I'm about 67 and he is 71. Tired of trying to maintain the property. I want to just enjoy the outdoors and live in different spots around this amazing country. We have ridden our Harleys across country 3 times now and have seen this gorgeous country. Waiting for the mess to settle that this country is living through right now knowing God has amazing plans for us, his children. God Bless you guys. We'll always keep watching your great instructional/informational videos!!!
Oh please consider getting a cool cloth for your necks. They really are game changers for extreme heat. Stay blessed! Btw, your floopy babies are adorable! 😍🥰
The hoop cop looks great! Nice job! Boy it sure was hot, I could see Kevin’s tee shirt was totally soaked. The silky will make a nice addition to the farm. I’m so happy for you Sarah. Take Care and God Bless! Chuck Henry.
I love watching the 2 of you work together. And thank you for showing enough of the build that I can repeat it. I have wanted a hoop coop... but only just now realized that it might be a perfect structure to shelter my rabbit hutches! I hope your weather is more tolerable now.
May God bless you with some relief from this heat. Here in the very Northwest corner of NC, high in the mountains, we are experiencing the same heat. It never goes into the 90ºs here except for this year.
The Silkie coop looks great, very cozy! Praying it starts to cool off for you soon! Missouri weather can be brutal. Stay cool as best you can guys. God bless!
Greetings from sweltering Tennessee, though we did get the blessing of some rain showers yesterday, thankfully. This is precisely the hoop coop I've been wanting to build for our chickens, but unfortunately we had a major predatory event before I could get them built, which took our flock of twenty-three chickens and three Muscovy ducks down to three chickens total. Oh well, our three lovely Delaware girls will have a lot of room before we build our flock back up. Thanks for the great and detailed videos.

Kevin, awesome job on the hoop coop! You’re a pro at these now. You and Sarah work so good together. It looks like Kevin was melting in the heat, so hot. We have nothing like that here in Eastern New Brunswick Canada for weather.

Hey Kevin, wanted to drop ya a line on the hoop coop, we have built four hoop coops after watching your videos. After the first one you kinda wonder what I could have done differently. What I did on the rest of them was actually easier. We installed the chicken wire and the hard wire on the cattle panels before putting the cattle panels up. We used the hog rings and it worked so much better. Then I build two by using 2x2’s and the bottom with treated 2x4’s. And was able to install mid way wheels and made a tractor out of them and they work great. I wanted to say thanks Buddy!

Great tutorial Kevin. Sarah, you are lucky to have someone to buy you your favorite birds and take such care to help you make them a nice home. I love the hoop coop idea! Thank you.
That was a very interesting project. I would say you have the hoop coop building perfected. I hope you get some relief from the heat some. Usually this is the hottest time of year and the next 2 months could be rough. I am in SW North Dakota and we are just now getting to 80s in the day with 50-60s at night. which is why I put up with -50 in the winter. With clear greenhouse plastic and a couple of modifications, I could see this working as a greenhouse. Thanks for the inspiration.
With the heat in TN we have had to do chores at night. As soon as the sun goes down. Thankfully we use rechargeable lights and when need be just use the headlights on the truck or the lightbar. My son does "rounds" to make sure all the animals are good with food and water as well as shading.
Make sure you watch your chickens during the day when you leave them out! My son lost 22 chickens since May finally saw what was getting them and it was a fox during the day getting them! Also I didn’t know if you knew but Coones Will dig underneath to get your chickens! A lot of people put chicken wire on the floor and throw sand over it to keep the Coons out! Good luck
We here in the KCK area could feel your pain of the heat. Today is so lovely. The 80's and a lovely breeze to make it even lovelier. Glad y'all are staying safe and smart.
Check Amazon for misters. Some can attach to a hose with one nozzle. Easy to attach to a stick or drag with you, but you'll find the super fine mist will cool you quickly in a tiny breeze. You can also buy them in long strips with 30 or more misters. Point is: misting brings survival temps.
Thankyou a great cage, we used to put a wide strip of lino, linoleum over one end of any light cages that we would need to shift, it is weather proof and can be tied on with light wire
Hi Kevin and Sarah I'm in Upstate NY and the heat has made it so I'm stuck inside. If I get to hot I get a nose bleed. I'm watering and picking from my garden at sun up. Then I'm in the house for rest of the day. It really stinks since I'm so use to doing so much. GOD Bless you both and please be careful to keep cool and hydrated.
Those Silkies sure are adorable! My kids got me some for Mother’s Day too! They will be shipped this month! Thank you for sharing yours to appease me till mine get here!🥰

Also I didn’t know if you knew but Coones Will dig underneath to get your chickens! A lot of people put chicken wire on the floor and throw sand over it to keep the Coons out! Good luck
Right, I'v read all the comments, watching them put the tarp in place, they haven't said anything about the possibility of a digging predator
My dad used to put chicken wire at least 12 inches underground so foxes couldn't dig through
Thankyou a great cage, we used to put a wide strip of lino, linoleum over one end of any light cages that we would need to shift, it is weather proof and can be tied on with light wire
Thanks for sharing! Hope your weather cools off.
Good job guys. The silkies are so cute! Glad you got some rain too!
Kevin and Sarah this has been such an educational video for me. Thank you
Chicks will love it in no time.
We are trying to stay cool too as our AC broke over a week ago, hopefully Monday we get a new on installed! Stay cool!🤗❤🤗
