***** About Living Traditions Homestead *****
Living Traditions Homestead is all about living a simple and sustainable way of life. We believe the world has gotten too “busy” and that people are missing out on many of the true blessings this world has to offer. We started as a small urban homestead in Gilbert, AZ and after the city grew up around us, decided it was time leave corporate America and take a big leap of faith by moving our family to the Missouri Ozarks.
We put out 2 new videos every week! Wednesday and Saturday. We hope you will become part of our homestead family by subscribing to our channel and watching as we give up the rat race and live simpler, more fulfilling life in the country.

You could name her Buttercup. Symbol of beautiful, sweet, youthful innocence with double meaning of future butter producer or mama cow.
Daisy would be a cute name too.
Exactly what I was going to suggest and saw it in the first comment! 😁
Love Buttercup! That’s a cute name! 1 vote for Buttercup!❤
ButterCup sounds great
ButterCup, buttercup, buttercup you are my buttercup
I love that name
Love, love, love this video! Raised my three boys on 5.5 acres, had a very large garden, a couple of steers, a couple of goats, meat and egg-layer chickens, a couple of sows with two litters of piglets which we sold, two horses, as well as dogs and cats. I canned, froze, and dried everything - meat, veggies, and herbs. Used wood in the Vermont castings wood stove to offset the cost of heating fuel. It was a wonderful way of life for over 20 years. I'm divorced now, retired at 63-1/2, and living in a condo in a quaint town in a nice, safe neighborhood near the country club and golf course (I don't golf, but it sure is pretty). Planted flowers in the front and used two raised bed planters in the back to grow tomatoes, peppers, onions, and herbs. I now enjoy going to the local vegetable market and purchasing locally grown meat at a butcher shop here in town. I recently purchased a freezer, a food dehydrator, a sprout kit, a bread machine, and a spiralizer, and I use my crock pots a lot. I'm content and love my simple, frugal life. However, I love reminiscing about the "old days," and I'm enjoying living vicariously through you!
Kevin,
Sarah has YOU. She doesn't need $1 million!
Stay blessed! And, thank you.
You guys are going to be responsible for rebuilding our local food chain. You cannot imagine how much your content has guided me.
Very valuable channel!
Daisy is what immediately came to mind when seeing her…old Celtic legend; Daisies symbolize innocence and purity! It’s so nice to see all of your animals getting settled in. Thank you for the tour, and enjoy the new homestead!
Daisy is the first one that came to me also. (♡ω♡ ) ~♪( ◜‿◝ )♡
Daisy was the first name that popped into my head too. 🙂🌼
Daisy was my 1st thought!!!!
Me too
How about calling her Doris.
Name the calf “Peaches”-right now she is a lighter peachy color but also, peaches are super sweet and so is she!
Ellie
@@carolmiller598 or Elsie
I’m first of all 93 , near 94 years old and a farm girl , but due to age I have to to surrender to all that but…I so enjoy going with you all through your attactivities daily. Thank you so much for all your adventures. May our Heavenly Father bless you both and keep doing your duties. Love in Christ
We are so glad you are enjoying our videos! I’m sure we could learn ALOT from you. God Bless!
Penelope is a sweet name for a sweet girl it is different from all other regular cows.
Clair would also be a sweet name. Whatever her name will be, she is a precious baby. We raised 40 cows, and you do come to love them. Walking out with a bucket and calling them was a blast to watch. Have a blessed day.
You are my favorite channel to watch. You have good, informative content and show beautiful videos. Also, you don’t talk nonsense like other RUclips channels. What you talk about is specific to homesteading life. Please stay the same. Love you guys. ❤
You could name the calf "Sugar Cube" 'cause she's sweet plus she has a cube shape on her face 🙂
I love how well thought out your farm is. Very simple, logical and efficient. Thank you for sharing your lives.
I just finished culling and sorting my flock today as well. (My own breed toward a sustainable general purpose chicken). There was some scuffling with the males, as they were put together into what I call the "bull pen". Pacing the fence trying to get to the hens keeps them preoccupied, so the fighting is done and the order established. Three old hens were put into the pen of recently laying pullets and there were no scuffles at all this year. Weird. I am very happy with the chicken project so far. I'm making progress. This is a 5-year project. Good luck with your chicken endeavor. I can't wait to hatch next spring! 2023 is the year I will get my segregants.
I wish I had a pasture for a beefer. I would do it in a heartbeat. I also would have a milker as well. You guys must be in milk withdrawal by now. Best of luck with that project.
I see the fruit trees behind the chickens. How are they doing?
Her face has a "halo" around her face, so you could call her Angel. I also like Daisy or Poppy.
I'm loving the little fuzzy chickens, they're so cute!
Oh, Poppy is a very cute name ☺️
I like "Angel" for her name, too!
Diamond for a name! She’s a real “jewel “
The ducks know the routine for sure. The chickens need a longer bowl so they can all feed at once. I’ve never seen silkies. So fluffy and beautiful.
That sweet little calf is as cute as a doll, so I'd call her "Dolly"♥️.
... I looked the name Dolly up online, and it says: Origin: British. Meaning: "Gift of God"! How nice is that!!
Call her Dolly...she's such a doll. I hope she works out for you all!
I love reading the comments of my favorite channels. There’s such a sense of community amongst our homestead community. You have the best group of followers. Anyone should be able to see the great care, love, time, and thoughtfulness put into your farm and animals. That’s why so many look forward to watching your videos. God bless you both and enjoy following you on your journey called life. *Prudence* for the calf. Lol 👩🌾♥️🎉
I feel the same way. It's nice to seeing homesteaders coming together and supporting each other.
@@AbundantAcresHomestead Thank you for commenting. I wish more homesteaders would comment on other homesteaders posts. It's how I've found most of the channels I subscribe to..... and so, I just found you and your family. ✌
@@AbundantAcresHomestead neighbors and friends of the heart. 👩🌾💙
@@owlpacino6728 thank you very much! It's the same for me Ive found so many awesome friends through comments
Your pigs are so darn cute, if I had property I’d get 2 from you to have for pets! I admire how you treat all your animals with respect, I admire what you two have done with your lives! And sharing it all on you tube is truly a blessing for so many of us who for one reason or another cannot live this life. I enjoy your videos so much!
Joy! Looks like she gives you joy. 🤗
A million dollars! Making Sarah happy is priceless! She is very happy about the new house and the silky chickens! Love and hugs from Maine
I know😍I just love her
So happy for the “”daily chores” update. You are one of my favorite homesteading channels. I hope you will soon return to two video posts a week.
That prickly pear cactus is edible. One can actually buy it in produce section of grocery store
When you showed the calf,, the first name that popped into my head for her was
Butter Cup.
How about Nutmeg for her name? She is so cute! Congratulations on the new house 🙂
I like the name Daisy for your calf, I just think it’s such a sweet name🥰
She is such a cute baby calf. Lulabelle came to mind as soon as I saw her.
So glad your new chicken flock is working out so well.
Love the beautiful fall colored leaves in the background so I think “Autumn “ would be a great name for your calf
In memory of my hand raised calf back in the early 60's - please name her Daisy Mae.
I came here to suggest Buttercup but I see it has been mentioned. She’s so precious!! ❤ 🐄
There are so many great names. I will add a favorite of mine, Brindie.
Patches. Could you do a seed saving segment/episode?
Love to watch the adorable silkies 😃 and I also like the name Buttercup for the calf. Watching your morning chores brings me such joy...Love to watch
I enjoy watching all your animals and your garden videos. I also like all your canning videos too. For your new little calf, I like the name Lily, but I also like Penelope. Keep up with all the nice videos.
Tex is beautiful. I don’t usually think that about bulls but he just seems to have a great build and color. Also, the leaves changing in the background when Sarah was talking about the dairy cows are great. I’ll bet it’s a beautiful time of year there.
You already named her when you said she’s so sweet. I think “sweetie pie “ fits perfectly. Love your channel.
Exactly what I thought
My 7yr old names everything on our place, sweetie pie or diamond. Lol Sweety Pie fits.
I named one of our cows Jensie to honor an ancestor of mine. I was naming our cows alphabetically in the beginning so her ear tag # was #10 (J is letter 10). My parents actually named my siblings and me alphabetically (Angie, Becky:me, Cheryl, Daryl and then 9 years later my baby sister was named Allison in honor of a NASCAR driver. My grandma was upset because she wasn't named Estelle after her!)
After completing the alphabet, I named cows after friends, family, nurses who took care of my hubby in hospital, and tv characters (we had the entire cast of Gunsmoke).
How about Angel
i would name the little girl Coco, Her color
Bonnie Bell was my first thought. Bonnie is such a sweet sounding name and she is adorable!!
Susie Q I love you! You can sing to her. I so appreciate the two of you. Your testimony and sweet spirits. ❤
Daisy is the first name that came to my mind when I saw her sweet face! She is so cute! Your homestead looks great!
Love the name Willow for your sweet baby calf 💖 You two are busy bees - always fun to see you doing chores and greeting the animals!!
I love that name! I almost named my daughter Willow!
@@79klkw Our daughter named our little grand daughter Willow, I just think it's a precious name :)
Oh Thank you I have so missed you saying good morning to all your loving animals!
Your wonderful advice and knowledge that you give is worth a million dollars! Love you guys. please don't get discouraged. Your doing a great job!
I have a few name suggestions for you. Missi (for Missouri) Faith (Mom is Hope) Joy, just because she makes you happy! I'm so excited you're making progress with the American Bress! Hope someday I can start my flock with your stock in the Lord's timing because I can see how particular you are with your care and selection. God bless, Texas Deb ❤️🙏
I like Faith
Missi .... that's got to be the winner right there!!!
I thought Missi for Missouri also, but then I read your post.
I have a niece named Melissa and we started calling her Missi since she was a baby!
Cute and great name for their calf!
I like the name Lily for your sweet little calf. When I think of a lily, the word sweet immediately comes to mind. She's a sweet little calf, so Lily would suit her. I sure do love watching your videos. You're such an inspiration and your our "go to" authority when we need to know how to do something. We love your new house and are SO excited for you! Can't wait to see what's next for you guys. It was great watching today's video. Thanks for catching us up on what's going on with the animals. God bless. ♥️
STAMP! Your sweet baby girl calf looks like she has been stamped on her face.
Loved your video. Your happiness to getting your house in and getting some of those to do things off your plates shows.. I'm so happy fir you Allgood! God Bless
Love your farm!! My husband was watching you and now I’ve subscribed.😊 When I saw the little calf first, I said it looks like she has a white bridle on her face… so I was thinking Bridle might be a good name? But maybe a name like Daisy or Buttercup might suit her better.🤷🏻♀️💕
You have a fantastic farm and you have awesome farm management experience to share. Take care.
With that brown patch on your heifers face I would call her patches. I know it’s not very feminine but it fits her. Glad to see all the animals that you been able to move to the permanent location are doing so well keep doing an awesome job. And have a blessed day🙏
Funny enough I was thinking of Daisy and Buttercup and a few have already thought of that.
Good morning, you two look and sound better. Glad your cold is gone. Stay healthy and strong. Have fun.
I think Mazie is a good name! I have a chicken with that name and she is a very smart & such a sweet animal.
In 1950 when my parents married and started life as young Nebraska farmers, my grandad gave them 2 wedding gifts: a bedroom suite and a little Herford calf. Dad named the calf HoneyPie. She had a speckled face and followed him around like a puppy. Dad kept every one of HoneyPie's heifer calves through the years and they were great mama's. But the interesting part is that Dad never owned a dairy cow - he milked HoneyPie, or sometimes another Hereford. He picked good producers and had enough milk to raise 4 babies of his own plus provide milk for his parents when the cow was fresh. I'm not sure how long HoneyPie lived, but her progeny were present in his herd until it was sold in around 2007, so naturally I'd recommend HoneyPie as a name for your little Hereford calf!
I LOVE to hear stories like this. That was back when people knew the value of things.
@@krickette5569 it's a treasured family memory for sure!
I love watching the general feeding and tasks of each day.
Y'all make having all these different kind of animals easy.
Maisie, Dixie, Darling, Blueberry, Sweet Potato, so many adorable choices! Loving reading through all the suggestions and can't wait to find out what you pick 🥰🥰🥰
I was thinking Maisie also! Sweet Potato is cute also
Your jacket matches perfectly with the glory of the land - those gorgeous trees! And then Kevin shows up with the perfect green sweater to match those trees that haven't turned color. Your land is SO BEAUTIFUL and your farm inspirational. I see calendar pictures, jigsaw puzzles and just plain hanging pictures made of the scenes we saw today! You have brought me such a peaceful happiness just looking the the previous owners must be so glad you guys bought the land as it goes on productively giving back and they get to see it on video. Gorgeous morning!
Shes simply heavenly beautiful..."Heaven"
It's been a long time since I stopped to watch your video. This was a perfect catch-up tour to see all you've worked toward over the last couple years. I understand how much consideration and work goes into raising livestock and building infrastructure for the homestead. Congratulations on all you have accomplished! (We have prickly pear in Michigan too! Tough little cactus.)
Princess would be the perfect name. Love seeing all the animals. Blessings 🙏🏻
The name that came to my mind was Gracie. Love seeing y’all taking care of your animals. They are all so blessed to have you two as their human family. Love and prayers for y’all and the animals. ❤❤ Thanks for sharing this part of your lives with us.
They have a daughter named Grace :)
I love the name Gracie!
They have a daughter named Grace. I’m sure they love the name! 😊
Was sooooooo nice to start seeing the animals again!!!!!! We love the pigs!
Congratulations on getting one step closer to building your dreams....on making those goals you've set out to reach! And doing it together, with your family.....that's so beautiful to me. You're building something amazing. Give yourself that pat on the back because man, job well done! Great job guys.
I love the animal updates! I'm thinking that Sunshine 🌞or Daisy 🌼 would be a happy name for the newest calf. 💜
Thanks for the morning chores video. Love watching! I think you should name her Sugarbaby. She’s precious!
I like the suggestions of both Buttercup and Daisy.
The name Butterbean came to mind when I saw that cute face! Such a cutie!😍
She looks like a Lilly to me 🤣😂💐 Animals are so happy and healthy. Good to see them all. Thank you for sharing with us 🌹💙🙏🇺🇲
Prickly Pear does well here in WNY too. My sister has been growing it for years. I love seeing the hens getting acclimated to their new hoop coop life. The chicken moat was such a great idea! I can't wait till Spring to see all the new baby chicks running around. All of your animals are so happy and content. This is a great farm! 🥰
Love your channel! You too have learned SO MUCH AND TAKE GOOD CARE OF ALL YOUR ANIMALS!!
You could name her Nellie Bell or just Nellie for short , I think it has a sweet sound to it when you would call to her , Nellie 😊 I look forward to your post every week , missing when you were posting twice a week, hopefully you can again one day soon . Take care and God Bless you both😊
The calf could be called PENNY. Another great insight into your life. Thank you ❤️❤️
Fascinating to hear how your business plan is developing. Love to watch you interact with the animals, and now I begin to understand how the homestead becomes a profitable Enterprise. Thanks so much for the information,it felt like a mini tutorial. Was exciting and educational.
Thank you for taking us with you really enjoyed it
Buttercup would be a fun name. Thanks for letting us join the fun.
I love the morning feeding videos! I love ALL of your videos! But I do love seeing the critters so much. 😃 The Silkies are so adorable-Living, breathing stuffed animals! Prickly Pear Cactus is edible and delicious, as you guys probably know, having lived in AZ. I wonder how that would taste freeze-dried? My suggestion for the sweet little calf: "Harmony". Enjoying the beautiful fall colors behind you when speaking about the dairy cows. 🍁🍂
Prickly Pear cactus is a native to Wisconsin too; they are adapted to very cold weather.
I love you folks. You have a great life and produce super videos. I wish you were my neighbors. Keep it going. You are doing everything right.
Wow , all of the animals looking great …busy time
It’s always fun following you around to care for the animals. Your different girls have such great old school maybe the sweet calf could be Suzi or Cindy. I’m happy for you with so many changes this year and Rose will be in my prayers
I so enjoy the planning that goes into everything on the homestead. It is great to see how everything is there to not only sustain you but also to have income and share with others so that they may do the same. A lot of work but it looks so enjoyable at the same time.
SUGAR PLUM OR CUPCAKE .ALL YOUR ANIMALS ARE SO HAPPY AND CALM AND LOOK SO RELAXED.GREAT JOB.THANK YOU FOR SHARING .FRIEND FOR LIFE.
I love daisy for a sweet name. It is nice even when the cow grows old. I wish you good luck and God's Blessing on your new farm.
I think Misty would be a good name for that adorable baby. Love the animal updates. Heck, I love it all!
name that sweet calf boo.
Thanks for the walk and talk, always enjoy seeing all the animals.
For a name for the cutie pie, I'm thinking... Haylee (get it Hay 😁)
Your heifer is adorable! She looks like she could be named after flora or fauna! Ivy💜 is my favorite.
Prickly pear cactus taste delicious !!!! The fruit n the paddles both edible....
Another vote for Daisy… she’s so cute, I’m sure whatever you choose will work, it’s great to see you back doing the everyday farm stuff again. I e been thinking about quail and you walked about procession them, but I’ve never cooked quail, maybe you could do some cooking with the proteins that you raise on the farm? Thanks and keep up the great work
Lilly for the white on her face, Bell for the brown patch on her face. God bless you all.
The sweet calf has a face patch that reminds me of quilting, so “Quilt Patch” or “Patch” for short. (2/4/23)
My husband thought it looked like a bonnet on her face so he said Bonnie. (I would add Belle to make it Bonnie Belle)😁
I love watching your channel. A good old time name for the calf would be Lottie. Love from beautiful West Virginia. ❤
Princess is what came to my mind when I saw her. She is a beautiful calf. You all take such great care of your animals. Missed seeing you all on Saturday, but love every video you all bring to us her on RUclips.
I am doing bresse for the first time this season, and put the roos on one tractor, ladies in the other. The roosters are literally killing each other. I have removed 3 badly bloodied birds so far, to heal and survive in another area. They are not crowded at all.
Wow... Wish I had such a good hay source... I've watched your you tubes this past year and have really changed how I preserve my garden produce... Thank you
Sarah has a few million, she has you! God's continual blessings on you both!
Love seeing all the animals!
Good Morning!! Love seeing your homestead!! May the Lord bless you!
There are a lot of prickly pear that grow in Long Island. Their yellow flowers are gorgeous. Every once in awhile I see someone growing prickly pear in their yard further north.
Callie would be a great name for the calf. She is so cute. All the animals are beautiful. ❤
