Important note about different brands of powdered Stevia: I did a bunch of reading recently, and discovered various brands of stevia powder vary HEAVILY in their strength and ingredients. Most commonly, many rely heavily on destrose and maltodextrine as bulking agents (see below for why that is VERY BAD). Typical conversions for those tend to be around 1:1 by volume, but only 1:8 by weight, whereas brands that are 100% PURE stevia are FAR stronger and far less bulky ... around 1:32 by both volume AND weight. Always read the ingredients.
Also, diabetics beware ... destrose and maltodextrine are NOT zero calorie sweeteners ! Quite the opposite - they have a HIGHER glycemic index than surcrose. Shocking, but true.
Various brands deliberately take advantage of a loophole in FDA labeling laws that permit rounding down various fractional measures to zero calories for miniscule serving sizes. There needs to be a class action lawsuit to close that loophole for sugar substitites, because it actively exploits and harms customers with diabetes who buy it believing zero calories on the label means zero glycemic impact on your blood sugar ... EPIC FAIL.
My advice: if you have diabetes, avoid any brand of stevia that's bulked up with dextrose and maltodextrine ... if you're committed to stevia, only buy 100% pure stevia extract. It also makes a much stronger liquid extract (about 4x stronger). For those without diabetes, the subject is moot - they have the luxury of relying on flavor and cost exclusively.

Re: making liquid stevia from powder
I havent tried making liquid from my 100% pure stevia yet, but I plan to try. However, I tested my last brand of stevia powded (Compliments brand, heavily bulked with Dextrose & Maltodextrine), and I found I could dissolve a bit over 4 parts of powder (by volume) into 1 part 80 proof white rum. Just add the powder to the rum in 4 passes in a small jar - just seal, shake for 1 min, let stand 3-4 mins, and if it turned clear add the next pass.

I paid $13 for a 2oz bottle of liquid Stevia so thanks very much for this video! You saved me a lot. I just used hot distilled water and making it ahead you can always keep it in the fridge.

Can use stevia leaves too that have been dehydrated.

Why not measure how much extract you need and then mix it in a small bowl so it gets mixed well.

I'm doing my own drops with water, but after one night the drops become all cloudy and chunky. Any idea on how to solve this ?
