Sweet! Awesome coop and a very nice video. I love your silkie chickens so much. I've been doing alot of research on silkies for the last 6 months, and I am hooked. So nice for you to share yours.
How about a video on birds for hot weather. I'm in Stuart Florida north of you so I know about heat. Most of what you find online suggest silkies are not hot weather birds I'd love to hear your opinions.
Do you solely hen raise your chicks or do you use brooder boxes or a combo? I would love if you did a video on your experiences with chick brooding and/or a tour of your set ups. Also if you have any experience/tips on grafting chicks. I do a combo of indoor brooder boxes and hen raised chicks and have grafted chicks a few times but the biggest factor for deciding how to raise the chicks after hatch depends on weather, Illinois is temperamental and hard to plan around temperatures and that lining up with broody hens lol. We have a very diverse flock but none of the other chickens have every bothered or caused issues with letting a hen hatch or raise chicks so I don't have a separate pen but we have made a little area in our more open coop in the corner if need be. Love the part in this video where baby is bouncing and playing with the chicken lol.
@@silkiesofloxahatchee I am thinking that pouring a slab is my best bet. I use a chicken treadle for food, but they eat the eggs in the coop. So I put some wasabi on the wood that they were chewing on in my coop. They quit chewing but I can't keep them out when the chicken door is open in the day.
Why do you not want stripper show girls? Is there something genetic with them? I currently have bowties (4, unsure of sex) but planning to breed them with my silkies possibly. Trying to figure out breeding pen setups right now for everyone
I am young, I still live with my parents, but I love chickens and lizards (as my name suggests) so thanks for this!

Hello do you sell eggs ?
Idk why it cracks me up that a showgirl+showgirl= stripper. Whoever came up with these names should be ashamed! 😂😂😂
