I love it bro! Your do more off-roading in your Scraptor than 90 percent of Raptor owners. Nothing wrong with saving money and building something you love to drive.
Exactly right!!
Thank you! 💯
Good times Offroad in the FORDs.
I did a very similar thing on my 2012 XLT. Gen 1 front end and Forged Offroad front and rear bumpstop kits. ICON rear leafs and more $$$ than I’d care to discuss. It’s a fun hobby.
Nice!! When engine? The 5.0 with the proper tune could be a great setup and cheaper to maintain than the 6.2
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad 3.7 NA unfortunately. Not a lot of power but I did regear to 4.56 with since I’m running 35s. Decent performance for the MPG I can achieve. Next time more power for sure though.
Nice!!
Thanks guys. This videos is helpful. Ive been working on my truck since October of last year
Right on man. I have a lot of non Raptor followers and wanted to show a much lower cost options to have fun. A Raptor swapped truck can be very capable and have just as much fun as the more expensive trucks.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad right on. Hope i can make it to one of your rides soon. Keep up the good work. 💯🙏🏼
@@A619D feel free to reach out if you ever need help finding parts or just have questions!
@@Racerx1023 thanks brother. Im sure i will.
I was nervous when we didn’t get a Sunday upload last week. Great content like always!
Thanks man.
Last weekend we were helping a friend with his truck and did not have enough time to edit a video for Sunday. But we have a few in the can including how to videos with some icon gear
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad Looking forward to it! Strongly considering going the Icon Stage 4 route on my Gen 1. Install and review videos would be legit
This is just COOL! I would have done this myself on a Gen1 Conversation on the older F-150. However, this is still very VERY COOL!!!
Thanks man. I think it’s become more popular on the Gen2 look because of how easy everything bolts up. Not sure how easy it is to clone the gen1. Is it similar?
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I've found that it's not very easy depending because of the locations of mounting and all sorts of problems.
Yeah, there is much more Raptor specific items on the Gen1.
Gen2 s are built on the same assembly line as the F150 and share a lot more than most people realize. The frames and drive train are the biggest differences really. But everything still bolts on the frame in the same locations as an F150 frame.
Hey, should the stabilizer bar be the raptor one or can the original one remain?
Hey, so the F150 and Raptor sway bars are totally different. If you plan on swapping your suspension and want to continue running your sway bar, you'll need a Raptor one. Or you could just not run one and have full independent front suspension. Good luck with your swap!
I’ll be waiting for when you and the boys do a Raptor frame swap on his F150/Raptor 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Lol, way too much work... I'll just reinforce key points and call it a day!
🤣🤣🤣 that’s way too work. And you honestly don’t need it to have some fun.
Yeah not needed but very entertaining lol 😂👍👍👍👍
🤣🤣
@@tctwg1 it would probably be a lot of wrench throwing and bleeping out cuss words if i was there helping 🤣
thanks for this video!!!! hell yeah
I love these kind of videos. Raptor Tax??? Whats that?
🤣🤣 Raptor upgrades are the expensive!!! Even the simplest things can cost big bucks because they think if you can afford a Raptor, you can afford a few bucks more
😂😂😂 its the crazy mark up when you look at F150 parts vs Raptor parts. Lol
Ohhh I get It, I was planing on doing this on a 2017 Lariat V8 FX4
@@niels19810530 do it man! Its fun! And it really seems to annoy the guys who paid full price for a truck they'll never take on anything but a well manicured fire road adjacent to a starbucks! Lol 😂
Quick question can I use gen 1 lower control arms on the 2017 F150 4X4 lariat supercrew? Have the gen 2 blue shocks and springs! Also do I need a 2” block for leave springs in t here back? Any help would be thoroughly appreciated,
It’s true he did get a really good deal on the fenders 😜
Specially considering how hard they are to align. Nothing beats OEM fender alignment
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad can’t wait till I change my fenders again lol
@@Bajaboii all the work i had to put into them to make them good again! Lol
@@Racerx1023 that knee pad treatment was nice
Looks like I need to get the wiring diagram for the raptor sensors and start making some extensions. I met a guy the other day that moved here to Texas from California that did this conversion. But his truck was an extended cab. He also didn't have the sensor extension harness.
I'd be interested honestly depending on cost. The new harness from Ford is about $75. It'd be worth a shot!
@@Racerx1023 I downloaded the wiring diagrams last night. I'm going to try and source the connectors today.
Personally I’d never buy a 2wd truck but that’s me if I’m gonna build my f150 I’d probably just take the fenders and the front axle and the transfer case. The rear axle sis wider on the raptor over stock f150 too
Pre runners rarely use 4wd even on sand here in SoCal. So it’s really not needed. And we did talk about the rear axle.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad yeah a pre runner for the dunes in totally fine sand rails are rwd too. The raptor is not a pre runner. Since prerunners are RWD. I’m not knocking the build it looks good my preference is 4wd I have a lifted crown Vic with 32s that’s rwd but it’s not as capable as my 4wd f150.
Just get the IWE deletes. Love mine on my Gen 1 Raptor.
That’s a good idea. IWE delete would make the install a little bit easier. But depending on the engine size IWE delete would hit the pocket book hard in MPGs.
Would gen 1 lowers work on a 2019 f150 swap?
Depends. You can’t mix gen1 and gen2 arms and spindles. You do all gen1 parts or all gen2 parts. The frame mounts are similar and should work with the right bushings.
You can buy strip them raptor with cloth seats no sunroof are very reasonable price in they use market
Not anymore you can’t. Up until about a year and half ago, Raptor prices were reasonable. But within the last year they all went up. Gen1s are worth about 10k more and Gen2s are slowly going up. My 2020 is worth more than what what MSRP was and that’s 20k miles on it
Great video.
Thanks man
I have a 2021 f150 crew cab fx4 will 1st gen raptor rear shocks bolt on or will I need more parts ?
That’s the new linked trucks right? If so, not too much info on these yet since there is no take off shocks hitting the market yet.
Honeslty imo looks too phony. Would look waaaay nicer how it was stock with just some aftermarket steel bumpers and just throw on the raptor shocks on it or some fox 2.5’s
But you can’t just throw in Raptor shocks on the stock setup man. For one, they will not bolt in. 2nd, you won’t get the same travel numbers or be able to run 35s without ripping off the fenders. You need wider suspension components and in turn wider fenders. The stock Ford Raptor fenders will have 1 million times better fitment than any after market fenders.
How did you get your spare 35 inch tire in. What did you have to do? Did you put a shield for the tire to not get hot from the exhaust.
any part info needed to make it happen....Thanks
Awesome video! Currently collecting stock Raptor parts to do this swap myself.
Gen 1 or Gen 2? If you have questions about the Gen 1 swap send me my way.
That’s awesome man. Hoping to do more Raptor swapped content in the future as Jason builds up his truck. Our first priority is the KHC shock bucket.
Hey, do I need to swap out my f150 fenders if I just install the raptor hood? I really just like the raptor hood and would like to know if it will fit fine with no added adjustments. And if adjustments are needed what would they be. Hoping to not have to rebuild the whole front. Thank you!!!
Oh and its a F150 2015 XLT Eco
From what I’ve heard, Stock fenders will not align with a raptor hood. I could be wrong though so get a hold of Scraptor, he would know for sure. He’s IG is linked in the description
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad thank you I checked out the IG link and messaged him
I know this is an older video but I have a few questions, I currently am getting all the parts needed for a swap, have gen 2 lowers, tie rod ends, and RH Fab uppers, and just bought some 2.5 coilovers, I can remove the lower mount and use spacers to mount the coilover to the raptor lowers but will the geometry be all messed up because I dont have shims or does it only matter if you use gen 1 shocks, Also i see on the parts list that he has gen 2 axle assemblies for the front, are these a direct fit, I thought I read that the raptor cv's have 1 more spline or something
I’m not an expert in swaps, Scraptor in the video is and he’s very responsive over Instagram or the raptor swap group on Facebook.
I do remember him holding off on any shocks for the front until he got the upper shock bucket shims because the geometry would be off. Yeah you can install it, but the suspension won’t work or cycle right without the upper shims on the top to get the shock angle right.
Check with Scraptor on IG to confirm. He’s done it and helped a ton of guys do it
Well the rst18 from rpg fit into a 2015 ford f-150. I wan't to install the rpg bolt mid travel kit, with fox coilovers and 3.0 triple bypasses. And the rpg rst18 with 3.5 fox triple bypasses. I really want to make my f-150 into pre-runner. You're knowledgeable on raptors and f-150's. What else do you recommend for my build?
Yeah you can run those mid travel kits on your truck. But you’re going to need to change out your shock bucket. The stock shock bucket is too short, and you will need the taller raptor to support the longer shocks
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad any recommendations for after market shock bucket.
Only 2 options at the moment are the Krazy house kustoms or camburgs buckets. The camburg bucket is the easier install. And I highly recommend weld on install over bolt on.
Oem front bumper from raptor does it fit bolt on in regular f150?
With the Raptor OEM raptor hardware yes it can. BUT there is a catch. You need the matching trim for the lights, grill, under the grill, and the fenders for it to work. Ton of components for it to look right.
Which Raptor gen parts for a 2022 F150?
Front is basically the same so you can do gen1 or gen2 parts.
For the rear it depends if your leaf sprung (gen2) or linked (gen3)
It better be a 5.0 swap
🤣🤣
You can use G2 front stock shocks in the front on a F150 conversion you just need to space the top of the shock out. Also the springs are a little long so take 3/4 of a spring loop off and it will work just fine. I run 39s on my diesel raptor converted F150 with huge wheel travel (yes I run limit straps) and no sway bar. Side note the Diesel F150 has the raptor HD chassis with different shock towers and the crash protection brackets excluded on the raptor.
Dude, no you can’t. Shock will still not cycle correctly and the bypass tubes and shim stack won’t work right. Not only that but the Gen1 raptor shim stack is near impossible to get these days unless it comes with gen1 shocks. You would also need longer bolts that come with the top hat of a gen1 which won’t fit the gen2
And even if you can get it all together, the shock still won’t cycle correctly with the shorter bucket already compressing the shock. The suspension would have to droop past its limit which means a bad day on the trails in the future when it falls apart. Unless you get limit straps and well you’re not getting the full travel of the shock and then what’s the point.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I have done a stack of them and all work well, see my videos under my name. Currently have the diesel one in Baja where I live and its still working great 3 years latter with nearly daily off road use
Dude!! Recommending guys to shim with washers and cut the springs is a hell no for me man. Specially with how rough the trails can get down here in SoCal and Baja. Bolts are going to fail and the shock is not going to work correctly. If you’re just running the beach and pavement you will be fine. But get into anything with some chop or take a jump and you breaking stuff.
What about interior? Would seats fit?
Yeah. All interiors are interchangeable because it’s the same cab. Problem comes with wiring. You can’t expect a truck with manual seats to have the harness a full power seat with ventilated and heated seats to work
Cool info. How do you reinforce the rear shock mounts? Is there a kit?
No one makes a kit yet.
Your only option is to work with a shop to reinforce it. We are going to be working with a few shops in the coming weeks to do the KHC shock bucket and plan to ask about options to address the rear shock mounts.
I got to be honest I’m confused about the 2wd knuckles. Do I need 4wd knuckles to correct some sort of geometry thing?
Are you talking about the Spindles? If so, yes, you need the Raptor Spindles and they only come in 4wd. 2wd hubs will bolt right on them.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad Do you need Raptor spindles if you already have a 4x4 truck?
Yes you do. The 4wd stock raptor spindle does not have the correct geometry or strength
@Landon Alexander there are guys who still use the 4wd knuckles from their non raptor trucks. I've been told they will work, but for my own peace of mind i went with Raptor take offs
Are you able to run GEN 1 aftermarket coilovers on a 2020 f150 2WD with gen 2 raptor arms ?
Yes, as long as they are shocks meant for the Gen1 yes.
Without the coil bucket being modified?
Yep. Gen1 shocks are shorter and can be run and the shorter stock coil bucket.
You can run the taller Gen2 shocks Once you upgrade to the taller coil bucket
Raptor swapped F150s. Is a group on FB.
Yup. Lots of great info in that group too!
@@Racerx1023 yes sir indeed.
A question can l swap a 16 front suspension into my 12, lower control arms and struts. Thk
Like a 2016 F150?
There is no 2016 raptor, so I’m assuming you’re asking about a 2016 f150 stock suspension. If so, I think the bushings for the LCAs will be the main issue. That’s different between the 2 trucks and not sure what you would need honestly to make it work. Not many have done that swap because there is no extra benefit. The year specific parts would probably be even cheaper than the 2016 f150
Nothing wrong with building a Fraptor but please lose that Raptor badge on the tailgate.
It says Scraptor lol
Hey nice truck
I was wondering does the Gen 1 front shocks fit with out the rest of the suspension or you have to change everything
Gen1 shocks first IF a you can get the stock shims. When we made this video, right at the start of the parts shortages, they were no where to be found.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad So if I have the stock shims it will fit with my f150 stock control arms (stock suspension)???
Lol. No. It will just fit with the stock shock bucket.
You still need Gen1 or Gen2 upper and lower control arms, spindles, upgrades lines, and if you have 4wd, extended shafts
This is what I was wondering. Would gen 1 front struts not work as direct replacement if you installed without the shims? Guessing they may be a bit longer so may work like leveling coilovers?
shims are required for gen1 shocks to work. Without them the shock does not sit correctly and will eventually break apart the shock bucket.
Did my 2006 f150 2wd with full 2nd gen suspension for roughly 2500. Still need rear bed sides. No raptor look for me though
How did you fit the shocks in the 2006 platform? Rear I get, but fronts I though was completely different
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad I went with gen 1 raptor buckets from krazy house customs. That's before they ever had the 11th gen f150 buckets. My pops got the 11th gen buckets for his amd theyre the same. I also cut leaf spring hangar and moved forward to be able to run raptor leafs. 11th gen leafs are 57 compared to the raptor 63.5.
Wow man. That’s some major work right there. And sounds like you did it right
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad taken a while, because of pure laziness. But for most people raptor take offs especially for anyone in California it's the cheapest way to get out and have some fun.
Why mame an f150 into a raptor dinosaurs had there chance im doing all coyote decals 5.0 forever😊
Why not? Not everyone can afford a Raptor and it’s much cheaper to convert an F150. Who cares what engine it has. A good driver can have fun in any rig and Scraptor here has no problems keeping up on runs with his TT2.7. Shoot, he drives faster than most Raptor guys.
Would this fit a 2001 style F series?
No. Completely different design all together.
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad ty for the info
that’s a hack job if ive ever seen one 🤣
Thanks for the view! 😂
Why is it a hack job? Everything literally bolts on man. There is a reason why this truck is called the Scraptor. And it’s a functional build that’s been on the trails with me and built up trucks. And he had fun and kept up. You don’t have to have a Raptor to have fun on the trails.
Y not just get a raptor to begin with. End game money is the same, plus then ull have a vehicle that goes up in value
Not really man. Say you start with a used truck. As most that do a Raptor swap do. Used truck is maybe 30-35k. A whole swap with take off parts and paint for fenders can run you around $5-8k. All in your at $43k and you can go play.
Now before you mention a Gen1 Raptor. Those are going for over 40k now with 100k miles. Those that can barely afford a 35k truck, can’t get financed for a Gen1 because it’s high mileage. Some banks will not finance a car with over 100k miles on bad or new credit.
And a Gen2 starts at $60k.
So a swapped truck is a way to get into the hobby cheap and have a functional truck and have fun on a budget. It’s not perfect. But it’s gets more guys on the trails and that’s what we are all about on this channel. More good people to come play on dirt.
Just by the thumbnail I’m offended by what I am seeing so far.
I wanna see someone make a raptor from a tundra
🤣🤣🤣 nothing wrong with a Scraptor. Please don’t tell me your a Raptor purist.
I’ve seen some great toyota build. I know one tundra in particular, with a mid travel kit that can smoke just about any stock Raptor out there and may embarrass some mid travel Raptor drivers.
Don’t need a Raptor to have fun man. Get offroad how ever you can
@@KeepItDirtyOffRoad a purist? Lol no. I don’t even know what that means. Only truck I’m a purist about is the ridge line . An unbeatable machine. If this guy wants to recreate a real machine then he should base it off a ridge line. Man up and make a fridge line.
🤣🤣🤣

That's why all raptors are f150's.
Damn, poor little f150
🤣🤣🤣 why?

Not everyone can afford a Raptor. Wheeling on a budget is ok in my book. If you don’t understand why, then maybe this channel is not for you. 🤷♂️
Cool story man, but I still have fun with it. Lol
No thank you 🤣 just save the money for a used raptor
🤣🤣 used raptors got expensive the last 2 years
Did y’all weld or rivet bedsides
He has not done them yet. I’ll ask on what he’s planning and the recommendations
I checked with him and he will be using rivets. Not much space back there so welding is tough and rivets are the best option.
nice man! you should check out my raptor swapped 2020. im subscribing now!
Did you end up doing live valves or the blue shocks?
Non live. Khc buckets, elevate ucas, Khc slot deletes that I still have to install.
Nice.
