I have this knife as well as many other fine Benchmades. I mainly collect the auto's but I really really like both the Freek ( Super ) as well as the Mini ( super ) Freek. The mini I have to say has one of the best carbon fiber scales I have ever had the pleasure of owning. The only knife ( fancy ) that I hold in a bit higher regard is my gold class 940. I dislike the back spacer on it so much ( I find the gold rather out of place ) that I bought an aftermarket blue titanium. I kept the gold of course and put it back in the box. I really love my Benchmades. I have a early butterfly knife ( Balisong) that started me off back in the 80's. Once I joined the service I entered a new phase and started picking up every auto they made that I could find. Benchmade quality has really gone up considerably in the past few years. I can highly recommend Benchmade knives. The only auto I own that puts my Benchmade autos to shame is a Hawk. Nothing I have handled comes even close tolerance wise then a Hawk. But they are very very hard to get you hands on one. Great review kind sir! I often watch your Benchmade videos. And I always enjoy watching them again. There is one fact however I wish Benchmade would consider. When they manufacture a new design come out with non serrated versions as well. Sometimes it kinda sucks having to wait for those variants.
@Nicholas Salovay its a very good possibility! I liked the full size but I think I would like the mini just a little better!! This one in CF and red accents looks awesome as well!!
Hey Zac I received my "Production" model 565-1 in the mail today. SMKW is a solid company that took care of me because i purchased this knife the day the video was released and it wasn't going to arrive on time because it was a gift. SMKW upgraded the delivery to overnight on their dime. I was really surprised how much it resembled MY favorite BenchMade ever, the Carbon Fiber Nakamura Axis 484-1 Knife. I think the Carbon Fiber on both are identical, size is very close but different steel. This makes me a big fan of the Mini Freek 565-1 already. I'll have to buy a another for myself or find something else to give as a gift. Thanks for reviewing this great BenchMade knife. Sticking to your motto, I replaced the cover of center console in my neighbors Cadillac today because the latch broke.
I think this is the first time seeing one of your videos and I love how you use a grid matte to compare lengths. Such a great visual cue. And lining up the pivot is the way to go. Nice job.
This is one I definitely want. I'll have to save up for it though. I do wish they would have dialed it down a bit to keep it around the same price as the super freak though.
Looks awesome! I’m a big mini freek fan. I have one on pre-order and am waiting for notification. I do see some of them on ebay available to ship now. Thanks for the first look Zach!
Absolutely gorgeous design!!! However, with the Doug Ritter Mini there with 20CV steel at $140, I think additional $45 should be fair for the CF scales. I'd place an order right now if it's $185.
Way to much when you can get the mini ritter houge for 140 out the door. Also slot of people don't know this but the ritter springs are wolf springs that are a lot stronger than the benchmade springs. Found out benchmade springs come from China. The ritter is 100 American made .

hey, they didn't that ruin the blade with the coating. I hope they don't use too much or large billboarding on the non-show side. the lanyard tube puts the pocketclip too far down.
