We shouldn’t be shocked by the price. It uses all the right top-shelf materials (S90V and CF), the manufacturing quality is there and the design is, according to some (including me), one of if not THE best knife Benchmade makes or has ever made… You get what you pay for, and I for one am perfectly happy getting this knife for about $265.
Agreed 100%. I'll check out your review. I'm probably gonna carry it a month or so before I do my review. But so far I actually like it more than the Super Freek.🍻
I think the choice of S90V over M4 makes tons of sense for the smaller version. The full sized Freek is a bigun that can be thumped on readily, which benefits from having the toughness of M4, whereas the mini really wouldn't benefit from the added toughness. The extra edge retention of S90V though will definitely be a benefit for a smaller blade which will be used more for straight up cutting and slicing, and has less blade length along which to distribute the wear.
I agree with you. It is an expensive premium steel that works great on a light use pocket folder. Larger knives people have a tendency to use hard and S90V can chip.
Just bought one today! I got the CF bugout and the CF mini freek and a CF osbourne for 220 a piece! Buy a lot of knives from the place and they treat me great!
So happy to see this one go all out! Was hoping for a little brother to the super Freek, but CF & S90V will do! As much as we want to frown on the “split arrow” clip, it works darn well. I may rock the mini deep carry clip. Nice to see this in your collection!
Such a perfect video to run into, just as I am in the middle of touching up the edge on my 940-1. Although I also noticed blade hq is out of stock on that mini super freek. You should do a battle to the death on the 940-1 and mini super freek since the price point and materials are the same!
I picked one up today for $85 Canadian. I really like it. I usually carry larger knives like the Para 2 or the Griptilian. I just couldn't passon this one.
I'm actually super glad they made this. Was just annoyed the Anthem I ordered for my girlfriend's birthday on the army exchange website got bounced back, then I spotted this when I was looking for an alternative. It's 192 on sale there now for any military people out there (I think vets can use it too not sure).
Slicey Dicey thanks. I have the super Freek and I’m debating if I should get the deluxe mini as well. I don’t think I want to beat on a $260 knife neither.
I have to say one more time, I can't believe this one is worth it over my OG mini freek, which I love to death. I may be forced to accept that the rubber isn't for everyone, but you can't deny the price jump is huge. Besides, mine has the number on it and part of me will always like that.
Hey brother keep up the great work!!! Great videos great knife content love it!!!!!western ny here!!!!fellow knife junkie!!!!! Lol have a great day stay sharp friends!!!!!
The 560bk-1 "Super Freek" might be the best sub $200 "super steel" folder out there.... I absolutely love my 560-1, I too was disappointed that the 565-1 wasnt a 2.8"-3.0" scaled down version of the super freek, they'd sell a bazillion scaled down 560-1's in CPM-M4 / G-10 for like $170 - $175. I'd definitely buy 1 or 2
I bought this a few weeks ago from SMKW and was surprised I was lucky enough to get a First Edition (it’s September 2020) as I assumed they would have been gone by now. I put a mini deep carry clip on it and I have had no problems what so ever with any hot spot and I have large size hands. That said, my only gripes so far on this superb knife is the center frame screws that protrude a bit into the interior space of the knife seems sloppy and worst of all is the butterfly logo on the blade is slightly crooked. I wasn’t sure about the logo at first but looking at a lot of reviews and images online it appears the only other one I could find that was crooked like mine was a prototype model. I emailed Benchmade about it including a picture and they responded that some variation in their logo orientation is normal. Ummm, OK I guess. I also can’t seem to adjust the pivot to completely eliminate any side to side movement, however slight, and get smooth flipping action. It’s either too tight or just right but with ever so slightly side to side wiggle. Otherwise a very nice knife and my first one as I’m just beginning to get an interest in starting a modest collection of unique EDC knives. For the S90V and full carbon fiber, I think the price is reasonable.
Great knife!I would love to see BM make a Wharncliffe version of this! In CPM S35VN or CPM S45VN would have maybe been a better steel choice in my opinion!!
I have the Mini Ritter Hogue and it's an amazing knife at $140. There is no way I could justify spending $100 more for Benchmade's version of basically the same knife. $100 for a butterfly on the blade? No thank you.
Just need to change the clip to a MXG Gear Titanium Deep Carry Pocket Clip Made For Benchmade Knives - Black Powder Coating and no more hot spot for me.
Benchmade came out with the Freek right about when they dropped Doug. I think this is a great knife but I'd rather use a Hogue mini Ritter... The irony.
@@RealLockheedMartin i have a hard time believing they didnt work out some deal. the hogue ritter scales are basically the shape of the griptillian. they probably said ok you can use the scale shape if we can use the blade shape..
I have the original Benchmade mini freek with s30v, and I actually love the rubbery material. I took off the pocket clip to reduce some thickness and the rubber material helps sticks inside my pants. One of the better Benchmade action too
Oh and people who complain about the price difference obviously are comparing this against Chinese made knives. China has come along ways and I am not knocking all their products. I do however hate or shall I say despise the clones they produce. But that is China. Given the chance and they will clone these with less than honest blade steels and materials. If someone can find another American knife maker using these materials and with the same finishing touches for less than this price. Well then I say jump on it. Because anyone who purchases knives made in the USA knows what they actually charge. Of course you could purchase a ZT 0770CF with S35V for $220.00 .... Like I said purchasing American made isn't a cheap venture. I feel the Mini Freek (Super) with thg these materials is about correct. I own two Gold class one is the carbon fiber Crooked River and that set me back close to $1500.00 . So people should never be stunned by Benchmades pricing at all. I absolutely love the Mini Suoer Freek. It is dang near gold class quality. A couple of things I did was replace the screws with red and purchased a red titanium deep carry compact pocket clip. It looks absolutely awesome. Keep the original parts people. What could have made this just a bit cooler for some would have been having the carbon fiber infused with some red . But hey, it is a great little knife anyways!
Love everything about this the Mini Super Freak ... except the price. BM has lost touch. This would cost me $370 once it crosses over your northern border.
I don't care about production #'s. I have them & it's only something else to get scratched up when I use the knife. Why else buy it if I'm not going to use it. Also, I won't be getting this recockulous priced tiny knife anytime soon.
Man i really thought it was definitely going to be an exact mini of the #SuperFreek! I can't bring myself to spent over $200, on a "mini benchmade produ tin knife!🤦♂️🤷♂️😟
Come on Brian...... I think you’re losing your perspective a bit. $265 for this knife? There are so many other knives that I think are just as good or better for so much less money. I guess Benchmade is pandering to the collectors now. They would rather sell 300 FIRST PRODUCTION knives than thousands of more pedestrian knives. The reason I bought other brands because Benchmade has lost touch with its Customers.
I’ve given a look to a few of your video knife reviews. Unfortunately you go off the tracks - you start out on one particular knife, but then you’re reviewing a half-dozen other knives in detail instead. And who can afford $250 pocket knives..? Who is your audience?
I totally agree.. would love to have had a smaller m4 bladed knife, but i do like the look of this a lot and feel its more my wheelhouse at 3 inches. Hopefully they bring out the Super Mini Freek/ Mini Super Freek which would solve that problem. Great review of an awesome knife, even if it wasnt what we were wanting. Cheers

I put an MXG Gear deep carry clip that I had laying around on mine and the ergos were just as good as the split arrow clip for my hands.
Just bought one today! I got the CF bugout and the CF mini freek and a CF osbourne for 220 a piece! Buy a lot of knives from the place and they treat me great!

I luv this knife it was worth every penny 👍🏼
It's not small, it's cute! :P That Hogue Deka Looks like a great value more and more.
I’d like to see them do this version for the Super Freek. I bet that’ll be coming along at some point.
Beautiful knife
Man, the scales on your PM2 are freaking sick

Nah. Knives are totally different.

Actually deciding between this and the super freek, perfect timing 👌
Unless you need the smaller size... Super Freek.

I wish they just made a mini super freek, M4 + G10 > S90V + CF. I'll probably end up with the mini Hogue Ritter RSK instead.
I just got my mini freek and it feels special in the hand. It blows away my G10 Bugout.
Great knife!I would love to see BM make a Wharncliffe version of this! In CPM S35VN or CPM S45VN would have maybe been a better steel choice in my opinion!!
I wish that the mini did look like the full size
Love mine, Thanks for selling your second model to me!
Great looking knife but can’t do it at that price with so many other options out there. Guess I’ll be sticking with Spyders.
I think we all wanted a mini Super Freek.
This vs Spyderco Native 5 fluted carbon fiber?
Great video! Can we see a Anthem and Paysan battle to the death now that you have an anthem back? 😄
Don't have a Paysan.
The Nakamura and 940 seem like such better value for money. You can get a Nakamura in S90 and CF for $160-170 on the secondary market
How do you feel about this knife vs the Saibu?
I’ve got the benchmade super Freek. What should I do to keep it the blade safe with the coating?
Never did anything to mine. It's coated. If the coating comes off, some ECDi
Crazy prices on these .

I thinned my scales .., it’s below .50 now. Mine came uncentered and I can not get it centered no matter what I do.
There she is... My girl is cheating on me I see lol. I've only had mine a few days but its quickly becoming my favorite BM. Great video as always! 🍻
Just need to change the clip to a MXG Gear Titanium Deep Carry Pocket Clip Made For Benchmade Knives - Black Powder Coating and no more hot spot for me.
Beautiful folder, I dig the materials but that lanyard hole, yikes! I'm going to pass on this one.
Hey Brian. Hows does the Saibu compare to the mini-freek. I would think the Saibu is better. What do you think...
Haven’t had a Saibu in a long time but I do miss it. I like the blade better on this better.
@@SliceyDicey Cool. I agree the mini has alittle more blade. I did pickup a Saibu on clearance for $164 so I'm happy, should have it early next week.
Benchmade came out with the Freek right about when they dropped Doug.
I think this is a great knife but I'd rather use a Hogue mini Ritter...
The irony.
Yeah the Freek family is a pretty blatant ripoff of the Ritter Grips so they could stop giving him royalties.
@@RealLockheedMartin i have a hard time believing they didnt work out some deal. the hogue ritter scales are basically the shape of the griptillian. they probably said ok you can use the scale shape if we can use the blade shape..

It is a great looking knife but I don’t see the price point.
945 vs 565-1 battle to the death?
How can we trust a guy who wears a skirt? 🤔🤪
Awesome review! Thank you for taking the time to make this video!

HARD PASS on that one
Ridiculous pricing imo. No way I'm grabbing this one. Good video though
The full size Super Freek is the much better deal. This knife is just too small.
$217 at GPKnives.
The para military 2 is tiny to me, this knife is literally mini....too much money for a tiny tiny knife.
no check out of its usage: slicing, cutting, chopping,
When did knife reviews become so cosmetic?
