I bought this knife at my local gun shop today. Absolutely love it. The guy helping me didn't really know what he was talking about. So I had him subscribe to your channel, lol.
I'm 6'3" with XL hands. This knife is perfect! Has some weight to it that makes it feel like quality but not too heavy to carry comfortably. Love this knife!
I shockingly saw one in the display at Sportsman’s warehouse and did the quickest double take ever lol. Needless to say I snatched it up immediately. PERFECT EDC!!
This was my first BM, and I've bought a handful of others since... really popular models, but this is my favorite BY FAR. Was also one of my first "expensive" knives period, and has made all the other "expensive" knives I've purchased be letdowns from the beginning lol. I accidentally spoiled myself and ruined future purchases by getting this one first. In fact, I like it so much I just ordered the full size :X. I love the fit of the mini, but I wanted just a bit more purchase on the handle, and I already know I love the style, so it was an easy choice to get the full size. Given how few knives I have in my collection, the fact that I am essentially buying a double should tell you how amazing it is on it's own.
I’m a benchmade dealer and a lot of people are nerding out over this at work. I love that it’s overall length is 7.62; i found that hilarious as it’s an EXTREMELY popular deployment knife. (The Adamas family in general.)
Benchmade is popular in the military for those who want something special. Every thing from AFOs, Griptilians, Presidios, and Infidel (family) and Adamas. I personally favor the AUTO Adamas. The "letter opener" Infidels seem to get the most hype though.
You were spot on with this one - got mine in the mail today. A dozen or so deployments and it just falls shut - no tweaking required. This is my fourth Benchmade and will definitely not be my last. :)
I like how the axis lock is a little more diagonal on the mini making it easier to close with the small space u have. 👏👏👍👍 well done benchmade it’s pretty nice
went with the mini and its freakin awesome. most of the best attributes of its bigger brother, sturdy and tough af but in a way better package for EDC. for the 1% of times I need a huge knife for something I'll reach for my Esee 6 but the other 99% of the time I'd much rather carry this smaller sized folder than the bigger Adamas. it is so well-rounded I rotated out my bugout for it...which I never thought I'd do. thanks for the review man!
My five Benchmade purchases this year have been 99% perfect (Freek, Casbah, BHQ M4 940, BHQ G10 Bugout, Super Freek). They all swing freely (no, not the Casbah) f&f is 9.5/10, zero complaints. [Great, Benchmade! Don't get cocky!]
youre right about the coating, MC! As far as I can find out, it's a tungsten carbide cerakote- so even more hardy than just the tungsten. Great review. I had a mail call with this knife in it today- and I'm over the moon with it.. I'm sure it's the toughest folder of this size that I own. Full steel liners add to the weight and it gives me, at least, afeeling of a mini tank. Great knife, great video. I also hope that you n yours are well and no doubt we'll 'speak' soon! All the best, Jim (from across the pond)
I bought the 273FE-2 a few months ago and it is more that I expected. Part of my EDC rotation and one of my favorites! Also have the original big brother adamas.
One of the best reviews you’ve done MC your words was like poetry 😂 it sounded like you had been at the happy sauce lol it was a absolute joy just listening to the way you had the knife giggle joy bouncing out on the words! Stay safe and healthy brother 😘👍
I suppose (for the first time) Im with you on this. Im not scratching my head about why this cost so much...its clearly worth it. I wont pay the price for the 940, but I will pay it for this.
It's funny he mentions attaching a stick to the holes...I had a friend with one of these who decided to attach it to a piece of bamboo and was able to spear a sucker fish...so you could definitely do that 😅
Hey MC! Great video! I too started getting into knives after a buddy gave me a Benchmade Barrage for officiating his wedding. Now have a nice collection of Bugouts and Grips. This mini Adamas may be my next free knife from REI. Thanks for the review!
I ordered a mini presido 2, instead I got sent a mini adamas by mistake...naturally I kept it even though its in Od green and Tan. Your opening statement is correct lol
This is a great knife, I really like mine a lot. I like the mini so much I'm going to get the full size (serrated) for a larger option when needed / wanted. I like everything about it (build, size, look, feel and washers) and it could easily replace other knives in my current rotation. Good review M.C., 👍
I am looking for a new EDC, and I have turned to the rear knife people for advise, and diving deep in to their videos. If the mini adamas had a partially serrated edge, it would absolutely be my new edc.
This looks cool. I ‘joined the family’ recently with what I consider my first premium knife, a 940-2, which I love. The Adamas is on radar, but liking the Nakamura first I think, and a couple Hogues. Idk, the Adamas is actually really nice though.
Hello, I received mine in France, great knife. One thing surprised me, I noticed by chance that the blade is magnetic, seen by having a spoon next to it. How is this possible, and why? Thank you.
I got one and I love it with the exception of vertical blade play. It stops with forward pressure on the axis lock, obviously, but I wish it could sustain that pressure on its own. I wonder if that's a design thing or lack of attention via QA.
Update - Benchmade is redesigning the blade to fix the issue. If anyone else notices the vertical play and wants to call them to bump it up in priority ..have at it. I am disappointed in the lack of enthusiasm on their end to fix a design flaw. It's been a while since launch.
I just bought both large and mini to test them and I'm going to return them. None of them closes smoothly, there's lots of resistance, blade will never close under own weight. I loosened the pivot screw - it helped for the large one, but now the blade moves to the sides a bit. It didn't help for the small one. Handles are comfortable (without the clips), but these are the only knives in which the pocket clips actually disturb me. A pity, because the materials give a very good impression otherwise.
if you want to clean the blade/washers without taking the whole knife apart, simply unscrew the pivot screw, push out the female part with your screwdriver (pull back the axis lock while you push the screw out), take out the blade and washers, clean them, put back in the female part of the pivot screw and make sure it protrudes about 0.5mm on the inside, oil the first washer and put it over the slightly protruding female pivot screw, put in the blade and give the pivot screw another push so the blade & lower washer can't slip, but don't push it too far, so you can still slide in the 2nd washer (again: pull back the axis lock while you do that), oil the 2nd washer and slide it between the blade and the liner, use a credit card to push it further up (you can look through the hole of the missing pivot screw part to see if it's in the right place), give the female part the last push until it's seated (again: pull back the axis lock) put in the male part of the screw, tighten it to your likings and voila👍 it may take a few tries but if you get the hang of it, you will be able to clean your benchmade knife in under 3 minutes🙂
Love mine, but came with pretty substantial vertical blade play. It makes an audible click when pulling on the blade, and when first pressing onto a surface to cut. Sending it in, hopefully something they’ll fix!
I sent mine in. Benchmade confirmed it had vertical blade play, but when I got it back from them, the blade play was worse after a couple of days. Got rid of the knife. My full size adamas still perfect.
@@archery_bum I'm going to wait a while to buy that knife again. I had to wait 6 months to buy it the first time. The clicking of the blade and the play really botherd me for the money I spent.

I think the holes is just a little nod back towards the old Balisong knifes.
Holes can be used to change grip of knife quickly in tactical situations bit like the socp folder as well as reduce weight.
