Sad days. The only reason I keep up with the worldtour is to follow Sepp since I rode and raced with him a bit back in college and know he's a solid dude. If he's lost this much time and his GC ambitions are near hopeless, no need for me to pay attention to the rest of the Dauphine. I'm not a fan of the sport or any of the riders except for him, just a fan of Sepp's and that's it
Losing over a minute per kilometer on the climb. Hate to say it but those kind of performances are often precursor to DNF with two equally hard stages to come.
yeah i agree, Bora's tactics were spot on for this day, catapulting roglic to a significant win for this year, also great to see the Canadian gee still able to keep in the mix after some big efforts, there were only 2 places to be able to cuase damage, with the last to the line of 9%, so whoever was able to which bora were would secure a win
casually slipping in a comment that Juan Ayuso might be UAE's big leader at the TdF... @0:40 to play advocate of the devil, have you heard of Tadej Pogacar? he's an up and coming slovenian rider on UAE
That was a crazy sprint by Roglic. I was pretty much convinced that Ciccone would beat him at the end, but Primoz got into the drops and started sprinting at the same time and he just went into warp speed.
Still blows my mind not all the pros have the route loaded onto their computer for descents, like a quick glance between corners and you immediately know if a blind corner is going to tighten a ton or not.
Do you live on planet earth? Trying to look meaningfully at a 2 inch screen at 90kmh... do you know how much the bars are vibrating and bouncing around at those speeds... there is no way you could either safely look at the screen or look at the screen and not lose the wheel of the next man and even if you could you would not be able to pick up that level of detail in that split second that the corner may tighten. Grow a brain.
@@lukacherriman5266yeah nah. I can't even see the speed on my computer heading into corners descending. And I hold quite a few downhill kom's. If you can read your computers screen between corners you're not actually descending.
I think you're missing the point. They certainly do have the route in their computer. At the speeds they descending, you can't read the computer between corners.
@lukacherriman5266 probably has something to do with amateurs going out for a ride compared to pros who are pushing the limits. That's like saying, oh I can ride down that descent, I should get a pro contract...

Ah the Remco haters out in full force again. The guy had surgery two months ago FFS. He is the best Belgian rider since Merckx 50 years ago and that to me is good enough. Funny, how it is always those who have not achieved anything of significance in life are the ones to put the boot in. Sure, he is not on the same level as Pog but then again, who really is. And those thinking Vinegaard is going to win the tour, dream on. That crash was even worse and you don’t get to top shape within 3 months after that.
I believe his goal is Olympics and World championship, both ITT and road race. The reason: he's way too muscular to climb with the best riders, which is a sign that he's in shape for ITT and hilly races and not for mountain climbing.
He didn't really torch anybody, Remco said from the beginning he wasn't in the best condition and was hoping to improve during the race. Also, his main season goal is probably not the TDF but Olympics and World championship (ITT as well as road race), that could explain why he's still so buff (and therefore doesn't have the shape and condition to climb with the bests).
