    ➤➤Transcript (Partial):
How can one tell if one's inner voice, judgment or conscience is a healthy one and not a voice that is the result of an unhealthy mind due to past experiences? How do I decide if my inner voice is healthy or not? And how do I maintain it healthily?
Now that's a really interesting question-question of conscience. I frequently, let's say-or yearly-ask my personality class attendees if they heard the voice of conscience-if they had a feeling-an emotion-emotional state, let's say-or a voice that informed them when they had done something ethically wrong and that perhaps made them guilty as a consequence. And it was essentially a universal experience. That's the voice of society within, I suppose. That's one way of thinking about it. The Freudians would think about that as the voice of the superego. Jung-Carl Jung would take that conceptualization somewhat farther. He would have considered it the voice of the self, which is in part, the voice of the ethic that's derived from the broader community, insofar as that ethic is valid, let's say-but also in part, the voice of the more thoroughly developed self that's still striving to be born. One thing you could say is that you experience violations of your conscience when you're not acting like the better person that you could possibly become. And so, to some degree, that's your higher self upbraiding you for failure to develop in the appropriate direction. That seems to me to be a reasonable way of conceptualizing it. Now, one question might be: how error prone is your conscience given that you're not omniscient? I have an endless fascination with the movie Pinocchio. And part of that is because it taught me something very sophisticated about conscience. In that movie, Jiminy Cricket is given divine attributes. He has the same initials as Jesus Christ, for example, and he is deemed the voice of conscience itself by the magical properties of-of Mother Nature, essentially. But in the movie, it's necessary for the puppet who's still wooden-headed and still a marionette whose strings are being pulled by others-it's necessary for the puppet to engage in a dialogue with his conscience because both of them have to inform the other. And that seems to me approximately right, because I certainly saw people in my clinical practice and know people in my private life who seemed to labor under the dictates of a too authoritarian conscience. Maybe that's the internalized voice of a relatively tyrannical father, for example, or exaggerated sensitivity to the moral pressure exerted by the broader social world. You have to attend to your guilt and your self-disgust in your self-contempt and your self-consciousness. You have to understand that the manifestation of those emotions might well indicate a moral failing on your part or a-a lack that needs to be addressed. Well, at the same time, considering that it is not a straightforward matter to deal fairly with yourself and you can be too tormented by your conscience, too rigid, too responsible, take on too much weight onto yourself, deny yourself in a manner that isn't sustainable and so forth, that a moral code, a moral way of being, can become too rigid and-and inflexible, and despite its putative aim upward be something counterproductive. I think most of the way out of that, if there is one, is, well, careful thinking. You have to see what your conscience says. You have to see how you respond. You have to capture that voice and your responses and-and you have to think it through, but most of that is done in dialogue with other people rather than as the...

Get up, learn the skills needed and get after it, all the keys to a happy life is in your hands. Keep pushing.

In all honesty I am my own worst enemy. My parents know this better than anyone. Im a tyrannical monster to myself. Im not like this all the time but when my expectations become shattered, playing by the rules of society, I often feel like a trying to "play" a game that is rigged from thd outset. Then I become angry and self destructive. It's no wonder why people abuse alcohol, drugs and many other self destructive vices. Im an ABSOLUTE REALIST! I gave up opptimism as that often leads to dissapointment. Im not trying to come accross as pessimistic or nihilistic, just calling it like it is. There is an aspect of luck involved as well. Personally, jumping in front of a bus is preferred to this tyranical existence! Im like when the f%#k is this nightmare called life going to be over????

@@holla_j I’ve dealt with some self tyranny. I’m neurotic, for one thing. I’ve given decades of thought to the pessimistic vs optimistic spectrum. I tend a little optimistic, but I definitely think realistic is the way to go. Getting too up or down is unnecessary and it’s just better to be grounded.
This is easier said than done, but you have to practice. I think about the “glass half empty vs half full” analogy that people use to roughly gauge negative vs positive perspective. It occurred to me that the reality is… it’s both. It’s 50-50 and though the question is rhetorical, this helped me. Staying with the reality, the question might be relevance.
Do I need a glass? Water? Maybe it’s better to have some and not need it, but when water is needed, how much? If I’m not thirst, I don’t care. However, if I’m dehydrated on a hot summer day? Is it enough?
Starting with a realistic mindset usually means asking enough questions prior to justifying feelings. There’s great value in determining the next question and then pursuing an answer. We never run out of questions but they’re often key to finding answers… just as a result of figuring out what needs an answer. I hope this didn’t drive you crazy. I’ve thought on this shit for so long and I kind of thought out loud here. ✌🏻

I hear voices. I used to hear my father's voice screaming I will never succeed, but I ignore that voice, and it has faded to a whisper. Sometimes I hear an angry voice tell me to get revenge against someone who has angered me, and sometimes I listen. I know my dad's voice and the angry voice are just me.
But there is another voice I hear. It comes from outside me, I think it's God. He tells me he will protect me, and guide me, and give me success against overwhelming difficulty. And he does. If you hear his voice, listen to him, and he will set you free.

To anyone reading remember our purpose in this world is to experience it in the most natural state. All forms of social construct are like a sales booth at a convention vying for a bit or all of your attention. So be careful what you allow grab your attention for everything here of this world does not belong to you and that's including your earthly body and at some point when your journey here ends you will leave everything behind in this world for you cam with nothing and will return with nothing except your experiences in this world.
Therefore endeavour not to let anything or anyone grab your attention long enough to make you cease from experiencing this world for our time here is but a short and fleeting one like a puff of smoke here now and gone in a few seconds.
Live your life to the max by loosening yourself from the shackles of the things that desperately want to grab and hold your attention. For our daily fight is against most of what's around us.
Thank you and have a great and full life 🙏❤🙏

Thanks for this enlightening video. It's fascinating how you describe our conscience not just as a solo act, but more like a conversation with various influences, including society and our own growth. It's a great reminder that while our inner voice tries to steer us right, it's also colored by our past and can sometimes go overboard. I like the idea of hashing out our inner debates with friends or family. It sounds like a down-to-earth way to keep our self-judgments in check and stay grounded. Really makes you think about the role of others in understanding ourselves better!

Saving typically results in you earning a lower return but with virtually no risk. In contrast, investing allows you the opportunity to earn a higher return, but you take on the risk of loss in order to do so. Not reaching a million before retirement feels like an unfulfilled retirement.

I've come to realize that the key to amassing wealth lies in making sound investments. I purchased my first home at the age of 21 for $87,000 and sold it for $197,000. My second home, acquired for $170,000, was later sold for $320,000, and my third property, purchased at $300,000, fetched $589,000, with buyers covering all closing costs and expenses..

Hi, hope your doing fine. May your day bring you the best. Anddddd. I need help ... a bit...with mental health...
If your reading this and have time consider reading the passage below maybe you can make me better. I will be very very very thankful please share your fight I want to know.
I'm 18, a collage student. I am a piece in a toxic household which is crumbling. Its relationships are broken.
    .
    ISSUE:
I came to seek this help because my inner voice has taken an over authoritarian role in my life. What's most concerning to me is that my inner voice was always a peaceful one, it used to make me calm and feel 10/10 even if I was 2/10. Like a mother I never had, I trained myself to tell myself "Its ok your doing well"..... I am and was careful to maintain the peace within me enough that this voice never became toxic and made me feel foreign to my own being like it is doing now, I don't know what happened that my inner voice takes roles of my parents who make me anxious with full commands and tries to rule over me 24/7 and 365. Its like I don't get any time to release and breathe, sometimes I want to just for a second sit and have tea, but this voice is always making a hurried rush in my head....do this do that move ...move ...move...like this. I've felt more venerable then ever.. maybe my faith in the security of my mind and its stability has become shaken, its like I've lost some of my faith in my own abilities as whole now as a consequence of this toxic voice I've started to question myself like..."can I do this" then I push myself over the edge that was once not there and do it, but its a toll. My studies have started to suffer, when I study its bashing me for not doing "proper" work and when in my free time I play minigames on my PC its bashing me for not studying. When I work like cleaning it bashes me for wasting time.
The most painful thing is that I can identify this issue within me as, a toxic voice within is not something to accept and embrace. But what caused this un-noticed change, I need to know the start in order to fix myself. This is un-noticed because I tend to over look seriously hurtful matters in interest of maintaining a stable life, I believe there is a price on everything in this world and in this case maybe the price might have been my mental integrity. I have a strong faith in my mind like a stronghold I was dealing and living away with all hurtful toxic people, for this I strengthened my mind in the first place. It is shaking my world how it broke without me knowing. It is safe to say that my self-confidence has shattered and the funniest thing is it shattered 2 years after a war between parents in our house it was supposed to shatter then.

The conscience is one thing, but when you have the Holy Spirit with you, He will speak to your conscience after you sought in Spirit & in Truth, based on your conscious effort to find Him. The Holy Spirit is the "helper" Jesus was able to send to His followers after He went home. Ask the Father to send Him to you, & you will hear Him within, if you are not a fraud. The LORD knows who to send, & who to send Him. We know how to ask, by what we read in His Word.
