My Dad died on December 9th of last year. He changed his plans and decided to be buried instead of cremated two days before he died. I live 1350 miles away. He has three sons and one daughter. I am a middle son, but I was the only one of his kids that showed up. I handled it all and spent $9,000 out of my pocket to honor his wishes. It took untilJune 4th, his birthday, before I broke down and cried. I called in sick to work and broke down alone. His headstone got mounted last week. I miss my father so much and there were more than him that made me a man of strength and a man that doesn’t share the pain of doing it all alone. Keep up the good workJordan.

In every interview JP establishes himself as an absolute loon. I am just not sure which to share as a top contender there are so many tying for 1st place. But check this one: IDENTITY POLITICS and the MARXIST LIE
      1. 'What has been happening under the subsurface of easily perceptible reality manifest itself at many layers.' 'You need to specify the level of analysis before you can move forward properly.' 2. 'This era of increasing polarization, a serious war of ideas.' 'It is necessary to understand the war of ideas.' 3. 'Some people have more privilege than other people.' 'You cannot throw everything away that runs contrary to your deepest moral instincts.' 4. 'For Marx the world view is a never ending battle between the oppressor and the oppressed. 5. An economic view that people are fundamentally motivated by economic motives. I never did buy that theory.'
[Tell me why no one sees through the complete sham of this guy? Let's analyze how much crap he offers in just the first two minutes. 1. His point is that what? You need to think? 2. In another interview he says the US is not more polarized than it has been in the past, thus completely contradicting himself here. An antidote to chaos? The guy is mental chaos incarnate. 3. Some people are more privileged? Gee thanks for updating me on something everyone already knows. 4. How long has Marx been dead? Why does anyone care what he thought. Does JP ever offer a solution to any current world issue? Not that I have noticed. 5. JP does not think that making money is a fundamental motive? A label of absolutely insane and self-deluded fits JP like a glove.]

The guy is hugely arrogant, spewing loads and loads of useless content, preying on the gullible, sort of like a televangelist. OK he is doing it to make a living, so no criticism of him there, but start paying attention to what he actually says. Soon enough you will see through the emperor's new clothes:
JP’s ‘Who Dares Say He Believes in God?’
“What our consciousness seems to be for is to encounter those things that we have not yet encountered. Those things that have not yet been brought into being. For the encounter with potential. To transform the future into the present. You have apprehension about what role your choices might make into transforming that potential into one form of actuality or another. You might make mistakes. You can get out of bed and do the things you are supposed to do..."
[Thank you JP for this great wisdom in telling me I can get out of bed and do things.]
      And from JP FB page:
“We, humans, are the only creatures that are aware of our boundaries in space and time. When we discovered time, we discovered the end of our being. That made all the difference when it came to our self-consciousness... We (the sovereign we, the we that has been around since the beginning of life) have lived in a dominance hierarchy for a long time. We were struggling for a position before we had skin, or hands, or lungs, or bones. There is little more natural than culture. Dominance hierarchies are older than trees. The part of our brain that keeps track of our position in the dominance hierarchy is therefore exceptionally ancient and fundamental. It is a master control system, modulating our perceptions, values, emotions, thoughts and actions. It powerfully affects every aspect of our Being, conscious and unconscious alike.”
[So a rabbit running from a fox doesn’t understand its boundaries in space and time? So why is it running? And why doesn’t it crash into trees if it is unaware of its boundaries in space? The evolution of my brain is ancient and fundamental? Thank you so much for this credible scientific analysis of what my brain is for. And of what use is it for JP to tell us humans are smarter than animals? Every 2nd grader already knows that.]

With that being said however, I would like to state my thoughts briefly and ask for your explanation of why you feel so strongly about him and why it matters so much in five concise points -so that I can understand your point of view with as little detritus to sift through as possible.
In my opinion, which is based off of observation of my environment, I think that he has been able to impact so many people positively because he seems to take interest in digging up old and deeply rooted things and then does his best to understand them better. Most people have some basic concept of everything he is talking about (per your 4th graders quip) but have not taken the time to understand the reasons for those things in themselves and in the world. I think that he comes from a place of having done his best to understand the simple fundamentals of society and human thinking as a whole, and then states them as clearly as he can so that everyone who has not taken the time and trouble to deeply investigate these things can have them articulated for them and apply them to the best of their ability -thus causing better self awareness and sensitivity to responsibility and consequences. I think you may be expecting him to be more concerned with scientific things rather than conceptual things? Is this correct? Also, have I said what I meant well or was I not clear and you would like me to clarify some thing that I was trying to say?

@@high_carbon There are two issues; JP giving stand up straight advice to people who can't figure that out for themselves, and apparently helping some people get their lives together. That is all fine. The other issue is him trying to act like a know it all intellect in politics, science, and philosophy. In those he is an embarrassment, absolutely chaotic reasoning and delusional grandeur. I would suggest the APA divest themselves from him as he fairly effectively implicates psychology as sham of fake science masquerading as an undeserving spot in academia. Here is just one sample from his new FB page, if you find anything about it useful or insightful, please clarify:
"We, humans, are the only creatures that are aware of our boundaries in space and time. When we discovered time, we discovered the end of our being. That made all the difference when it came to our self-consciousness... We (the sovereign we, the we that has been around since the beginning of life) have lived in a dominance hierarchy for a long time. It is a master control system, modulating our perceptions, values, emotions, thoughts and actions. It powerfully affects every aspect of our Being, conscious and unconscious alike."
[I appreciate your willingness to dig deeper into this issue and in a polite manner, however just briefly on the above paragraph. Only humans are aware of their boundaries in space and time? I guess he is stating here that humans are smarter than animals. That of course is completely pointless and useless and every second grader already knows it. Add to that it is wrong. Animals don't run in to trees or run off cliffs because of course, they know their limits in space and time. And that is just the first sentence. The rest is pure junk also. Add to that that he is so arrogant and self absorbed in every lecture, I personally cannot think of any current public figure that even remotely rivals him in being annoying. All I find is nonsense, e.g.: "The point of free speech is not so you can say whatever you want, the point of free speech is so you can think your way through life without running into a brick wall, you don't go from what you don't know to fully articulated knowledge in one bloody leap, the objectively real elements of things are the most real elements, a tree is extraordinarily real, you can get out of bed and do things, there is something to us, Caucasians should not revert to being white, being Catholic is as sane as you can get, our consciousness is more complex than we realize, logic is structured in a logical way, when something you do causes you pain you tend to not repeat it, we can't look at someone and see their molecular structure, you listen to arguments with your mind".

It is part of my process around Religion and spirituality
Religion as I saw it used GUILT in various forms to frighten us into submission.
That GUILT sets off a negative, justification blocking self protection process.
As I let that fear of judgement emotional pain go I am better able to ask how can I learn from this mistake rather than the negative shaming
I'm better able to ask SELF how can I do better next time.
I'm better able to look at my own underlying issues. I can recognize YES Old programming attacks but usually those who laid that guilt at a tough age too were doing the best they could with the tools available.
They were often reacting from a fear based, survival mode.

That's so inspiring! And what a wonderful way to look at it. Just the determination and wherewithal to take a deeper look at responsibility for yourself and choosing how you react and respond to what life throws at you. Getting real with ourselves is a hard thing to do, and to strip away all of the erroneous pre-programming takes a lot of self awareness and courage.

I love Jordan Petersen - There is so much to take in here. My wife developed cancer in June of 2018
It’s been quite an experience. I’ve spent my life in self improvement. Always Starving for more enlightenment. Nothing can compare to my own struggles and journey through life in gaining wisdom.
It’s been such a blessing to have this time with her. I’ve been a sponge, in that I am enjoying every moment I have with her.
Married at 17 in 1980 it’s been nearly 40 years.
I’ve found there is a bitter sweet living this experience, however the bitter is wrapped in the pure essence of love.
Where is the sorrow in this?
The sorrow is in the potential departure which is also wrapped in an all encompassing Love for another.
Reading these posts bring me joy to see the heart felt empathy and compassion that is being displayed for each other. Even though we seem as strangers we are completely connected. We are one.
Every act or lack of effects the one that we are.
Who can hurt another with this perspective.
    Love is all there is.
Anything else is a resistance to it and from where you came from.
    My presuppositions to life:
    Everything happens for a reason.
    It’s all for my good.
I chose, choose, this to experience and to expand.
When I attempt to control, stress enters in.
I now only let go and allow.
I am amazed at the perfect order in all things.
The miracles that unfold daily, as a lotus flower opening, a pedal at a time, throughout each day.
Men are that they may have joy.
A simple shift in perspective allows it to be so.

When I allowed my light to shine from within the messages started coming and I’ve been protected from people who have turned out to be toxic. Stillness is powerful, it’s how you’re able to hear the still small voice opposed to the one that tempts is.

It was my aim to be the strongest person at my mother’s funeral, and I was and I was with her for the last year of her life until the very end. It broke me to watch her die, to be alone with her (I’m an only child), and then to be alone. But Peterson is right, it this immense suffering I have been through that has given meaning to my life. I will live my life forward in her honor. Her name was Ann.

My dad died when I was 16. It was November 13 and it's gonna be 7 years. It was so sudden I didn't know how to react. I didn't cry but this physical pain that built inside me was huge. I'm a sikh so we burn the body, and when two days later I burnt the body in the burial site with all the ritual, I broke down in front of hundreds of people. I wanted to be strong. But this guilt inside me rushed out in forms of tears that I was unable to pay him back what he did for me. It's hard to be strong when you lose your parent and that too at the tender age of 16. It's not logical. I wanted to be the strongest in my family at his death, but I couldn't. That single day made me mature in ways I couldn't imagine.
