I lived in the Rio Grande Valley for 10 years and for a good chunk of my time there I ate these tacos almost every morning at the Laredo Taco Company. SO GOOD. The chorizo and potato was EXACTLY like that. I'd always have one with chorizo, potato & egg, one with barbacoa, and one starbucks frappicino. Breakfast of champions XD
I've tried cheese with my chorizo tacos a few times and I'd rather not. I also am more of flour torts with these tacos. I do like to add pickled jalapeno/onions and hot sauce.
Thank you , after seeing what they put in Chroizo in the grocery stores, I'm so glad & grateful you told us how to make homemade chorizo, God bless you . I'm making my husband & I Eggs & chorizo tacos 🌮. Thank you new subscriber Mrs Josette Tharp Montgomery County, Texas 🙏🏻
That looks really good. I bought the chorizo in the tube but wasn't sure how to tell if it was done or not. Your video explained what to look for. I am not used to cooking Mexican food, but this will be my first attempt.. Thanks.
Sometimes, we use it. Paprika will sometimes be overwhelmed by the other chile. I would use it if I was making a chorizo less spicy. Thanks for the view.
@ramencurry6672 I made them, and she wasn't too fond of it. She didn't like the taste. More for me... and yes, I wanted a beer at the time but didn't have a stocked fridge. I do now, and next time I make these for me and my daughter, I'll be drinking a Corona.
@@Bubba-23nineteen if you make a version with homemade tortillas it should improve the dish. Also don’t use chorizo. Use a small amount of bacon instead which is a Texas thing too. The small amount of bacon should tease her taste buds and she will probably like it. A good garlicky homemade hot salsa sauce in my opinion is a slam dunk and should boost a taco
Next time you’re at the store look at the ingredients on a bag of cheese and a block of cheese. The block of cheese has so much more flavor and you will see why. Thanks for the video.
Definitely go with block cheese. It's a little more work but the pre-shredded stuff is coated with an anti-coagulant that stops it from sticking to itself in the bag. Which means it doesn't melt as well either. I prefer getting a round of cotija cheese and just grating that...but that's a personal preference. Do you also do chorizo frijoles for breakfast or mostly for dinner? I like them anytime.
Here I am thinking I have never put potatoes in my chorizo and eggs, I need try that. And here you are kicking it up a notch with corn. I really need to start reading the comments in these cooking videos.
@@donkemp8151 No, you miss my point. Why go to the trouble of grinding the meat and making the chorizo with pre-mixed spices made up of someone else's idea of chorizo? Commercial prepared chorizo suffers the same fate. I've been making chorizo for 50 years. How many you?
@@es2056 - I’ve never made it. Never saw a chorizo spice mix before today. I’m not happy with store bought chorizo - seems very fatty. I’ll do some Rea search and learn. Any tips you would share?
@@donkemp8151 I have a few tips, yeah. I would give you my email address but not on this board. In the mean time I can suggest the Villa Cocina channel featuring a young lady named Rosana. I believe she has an episode on making chorizo. Also Rick Bayless has a great recipe for chorizo Toluqueno.

Did not know about the Chorizo mix. Mouth watering...
I made it this morning and it's delicious, thanks for sharing.
Awesome!

Hi, Mrs Tharp!👋 Thank you so much for watching! I'm sure you both will enjoy the Chorizo breakfast tacos. 😉
What do they put in grocery bought chorizo 😳
@@badmana5768 they use a lot of the same ingredients. This way you get to pick what you like, beef, pork, different spices all the way you like.

Cool, glad it was useful.
Thank you very much for sharing your video ,I did not know that I could make my chorizo so thank you ❤️❤️😋👍
Thanks for watching
Miigwech (translated thank you in Ojibwa)! Gonna make some chorizo fried bread tacos for my family next time we gather!
My mouth is watering!
The smell of the chorizo will take over the entire house.
thanks I will certainly try this looks great.
Didn’t once hear the essential “paprika” mentioned in the weird chorizo powder or when making it at home.

those potatoes soaking up all that flavor ❤
Layers and layers of flavors!
THANK you you made me look good Raul loved them
Looks really good
It was delicious too! Thanks
Making these for my wife this weekend. This'll be her first time trying chorizo tacos and I'm excited for her to try them
That's awesome!
When you eat this, this will take you back to Texas and you will want a beer

That looks good. I use the tube chorizo and two cans of Bushes pinto beans for refried beans. Ad water so it won't stick to the pan. 👍

White boy approval. Going to the store in under a hour.😊
Yummy making this today 😋
freaking hard to get that up here in missesota, looked in amazon nothing, walmart nothing , even the website is confusing bro.
Good eats!
Gotta put salsa on them ❤
I am so upset that 2 blobs of chorizo went overboard and never made it into a taco.
I hate when that happens, thanks for watching!
You should make a video of me eating them 😋
You should do a video on how to make chorizo
We do.
@@JustCookinAtHome where is it?
I make mine with ground turkey ..delicious
Nice! Thats does sound delicious
Is fall right now 😂😂😂😂😂
Make a video of making the chorizo!
Is that chorizo packet spicy?
You can lessen the spiciness by adding more eggs. It is not that spicy.
Yummy
Do they have the chorizo mix at Walmart?
I'm sure they probably do in the spice aisles.
Go to your local mercado, maybe they would have it but I've never looked for it there before
Incredible dish! We also made high protein chipotle aioli to go with it. ! I put up a video on our channel if anyone needs the recipe.
Save a plate for Jack Walsh and John Mardukas....for those in the know :)
😋😋
No one seems to put aromatics or veggies into chorizo, potatoes, and eggs. I’d add diced onions and charred poblano peppers to the mix.
👍
When you make it on your own I bet it’s not as salty the Chorizo tube in the store is pretty salty.
You control how much and what flavors you like. Thanks for watching!
Rip eggs
Why did he molest it with his hands? It melts on its own.
He was impatient. Thanks for watching!!
I like to add a can of corn, or a bag of frozen corn
That's an interesting addition.

Making Mexican chorizo using a commercial pre-mixed bag of spices is like serving stove top stuffing with your Thanksgiving turkey. Sorry, fail.
As opposed to buying a roll of commercial pre-made tube of chorizo?
