- We will call you back shortly or we will get back to you soon. Why does someone say this to you after you appear for a job interview? Several times job interviewees face this dilemma where they are told we will get back to you or we will contact you if you are shortlisted. Why does this happen, does it mean rejection? or it could be a genuine reason?
At times these statements come with a commitment to call you tomorrow, day after, next week or a vague very soon. It is confusing to say the least.

I have been through a interview with a reputed company, I completed 3 rounds, 2 technical and one group manager round and I went ahead for HR discussion and then I got communication this position is on hold..as I had all good interviews still they said if there is a bandwidth crunch then they will call me and now they want a fresher candidate for this position...now I don't know what they want to say by this as we spent almost 2 weeks in all rounds
Sir my interviewer said that they are looking for experienced people for senior post and I'm fresher now. Then he said that we'll call you when there is any requirement of fresher in our firm. What does that mean. They rejected me beacause i have no experience?

I went for walk in interview on 09-12-2023 ITC MNC Company, I gave HR Round and Technical round on same day. Both round was good and they ask me for wait. After 2 hour HR Interviewer told me Rajat I'll intimated you and fir milte hai on positive way and smile on their face.

Sir after 15 days of interview the hr called me and said I have cleared the interview but they put me on hold, and call me back regarding salary discussion and other things but it is arround 30day after interview, I have not received any call. Sir today I gave a demo of teaching In the beginning there was a general discussion later on I explained topic very well .And after the demo the teachers who were sitting they told me they will inform me. Later she told me that they will inform me through Hr. I also got to know from the workers that they just send their report to HCL and later on procedure is done. Because Today I was not asked about anything like salary and anything else.

Not HR, if in an inte5rview with hiring manager if he says will get back to yuo, then? Because even if the hiring manager wants to hire a person what will he say except - we will get back to you because hring involves various stages and hiring manager can not confirm a person just after the interview, so in that what would he say except- " will get back to you."

Sir I had successfully cleared technical, hr interview on mid-high level IT company. Salary also negotiated in decent manner. They say you have to join within 7day which I acknowledged. Today is day 6, till they haven't released offer letter. Meanwhile I Took follow-up 2 times, they said once hiring manager approves then we will release offer. I am in dilemma. Can you guide me sir?

What does it's mean, the HR replied.
"We are interviewing a few more candidates and your profile has been put on hold. We will get back to you if I have any further update from the HM's."

I had done interview for java developer and in technical round they gave me problem to create code n during face to face interview they told nicely attempt also after interview they told like aap ka interview leke muze achaa laga I feel good to communicate with u plz wait outside...
N after sometime when I was waiting outside ... I ask after 15-20 min later what about my result they told we will call u back so now aap ja sakte ho...?

When I take interview I clearly tell the candidate that wht is missing in them and what is good. How can they improve. If selected I tell them upfront
But I have faced some situations where others don’t tell these about me.
What I think is, it’s a very poor practical in our country.

That means they are progressing with other candidates and you MAY be contacted if others don't go through. Do keep following up every 2-3 days.
