I saw this show for the first time in 1978 and it was packed and fantastic. State of the art. Truly magical back then. Of course in 2021 it doesnt have anywhere near the wow factor with today's tech. But back in 78 it was truly something
As i saw the thumbnail, it said last show before...
That immediately sent me into a panic as my heart felt like it stopped, but the reccuperated soon as i saw the refurbishment portion.
This show is as old as I am. As I was growing up I always said to myself that I would love to work the show one day, but sadly that never happened.
Glad it's getting a refurb. Those bird need some TLC!
The animatronic birds and flowers could definitely use some attention.

Thank you! It's been decades since I've been to either of the Disney parks. The Tiki Room has always been one of my biggest, fondest memories!
The pre-show garbage rhetoric, warningss, and disclaimers from the cast-member have obviously become longer and lamer, but the show itself is just as fun and enchanting!
I really enjoyed watching this video of yours. It brought back quite a few great memories.
(I actually found it quite charming that you can still hear the clicking from the animatronic beaks!)
I hope they don't do anything overly drastic with the upcoming refurbishment... (or make it to "commercial").
The Tiki Room is a true gem of Disney's parks and folklore.

Normally the intro isn't as long and weird as this one was. Normally it's pretty cute and actually funny. But I agree, I hope the refurb is just a refurb and not a change in any way. The Tiki Room is one if my absolute favorites at DLR.

I just heard that they're mostly just adding a wheelchair ramp replacing an elevator that was there.
I check it out before it is going on for a refurbishment.

Dont know how much the attraction itself will be refurbished. They are building a ramp for wheelchairs on one side, and then they are attaching it to the new restaurant so its a exterior refurbishment.
Lordy, I do hope they don't make any more cuts to the show! There have been at least three cuts already. The one in Florida is even shorter! They slashed about 1/3 out of that version.

I went to Disney about a month or 2 ago and they added more birds and they look much better trust me its much diff now

Or friz when I went I sat with Jose but wehn he told me to see along with the birds I didn't know he's was actually mean it I just wach it and the the flowers and they go awww rad then that's wehn the birds sing along then the gods to l like them and then the thunder and that's all I like the last parts I didn't like because Michael says be careful me flying friends the god of an ambush have all come to clerbrte the then the end I only went with Michael and I knew the flags of the birds Jose Mexico

Oh OK, I didn't want it to be like the Disney World version which shortened the "Let's All Sing Like the Birdie Sing" due to that it didn't include the fountain. Thank god Disneyland still has it.
I think they might remove the bit with "wake up Jose". It buys into a stereotype that Mexicans are sleepy and lazy.
