am I the only one who finds the clicking of the animatronics really cool? like, hearing the mechanics behind it, its neat!

It was the clicking noise that made it relaxing for me every time I would see the attraction. Another plus was the air conditioning on a hot summer day. How I miss the tiki room.

My son misses Disney and we have watched this at least 50 times over the last 3 weeks. He especially loves the imperial March intro.

Classic. I first saw this 50 years ago. Same show; never gets old :)
The first time saw the Tikki Room was about maybe 9 or 10 years ago. (I’m 11 so I basically grew up with it) This is just one of the shows that never get old 😌✌🏻
Edit: 13 now, it still holds a special place in my heart. I remember my mom buying me a dole whip in super hot weather, my feet hurting from walking so much, and sitting outside of the tiki room. Not to mention the feeling of the cool air while you walk in. I used to be absolutely terrified of the thunder, and I actually thought it rained outside.
And a lot better than "Under New Management"!
I saw this last year
1996 my first. Met an old woman in 2016 working there who said as a girl she saw Walt Disney driving around in his ol' times car. Didn't meet but saw Walt Disney... Kind of a lame story
@@davidholguin2532 Cool story. In 2002 I met an old guy in line at the Jungle Cruise who said he began working there, and worked the Jungle Cruise, in the late 50's. He work there long enough to retire from there. They gave him a gold card that gave him free admittance for life when he retired. Disneyland is the best. The guy had lost of awesome stories about how much he loved it there.

True. I had a heat stroke last time I went from the unbearable heat last time I went. It was like 98-100°. Lucky I didn’t pass out like someone else we saw that day (he was ok, don’t worry). The tiki room was such a pallet cleaner, laying down on empty seats with the ac and all X)

I literally got teary- eyed watching this video. I grew up in SoCal…. So many great memories of Disneyland. Can’t wait till this pandemic is over.

This was my grandpa's favorite ride/attraction at Disneyland. I don't remember him because I was very young when he died but whenever I go to Disneyland I visit the Tiki Room no matter what. I completely understand why it was his favorite as it is a magical experience, behind all the amazing animatronics for the time he was alive there's a beauty in the atmosphere, immersion, music, and of course the birds. I think it reminded him of his home, at least that's what I imagine. The Tiki Room gives me a sense of comfort and belonging, and it gives me a connection to the man I don't remember but will never forget.
These animatronics are very old; but they at least have A LOT of charm.

Ive only ever been to disney once in my life, and this was my favorite place. I was only around 6, but I still remember it. One of the rare memories i have of my childhood. This, and Stitchs Great Escape (RIP)

I remember when I did this as a kid I whistled my own tune when Jose said "everybody whistle" during Let's All Sing Like the Birdies Sing having no idea he meant the tune that was being played...
I need to see this show badly it is quite charming and never loses it charm also the fountain is so majestically beautiful looking I love it also the brids flowers and tikis as well as quite simply beautifull

I think it was taken down in like 2002 or somewhere around that time, I was born in 2008 so I sadly never got to watch it 😢

The Country Bears show was running 2 days ago when we were there.
This is a big part of my childhood. I've been to Disney 3 times now (back in like 2013, 2015 and 2017) and every time we've been we come to this, it's so magical!

I’m not one for roller coasters and fast rides, but give me the Tiki Room, my Pirates, Haunted Mansion and Carousel of Progress and I’m happy as a clam! I adore the classics!

@@daniellegrickets7730 I did when it was still around as a kid. We've pretty much outpaced what the sponsors saw as a futuristic household and so it's lost its meaning and effect.

The first and only time I've ever been to Disney World was when I was in kindergarten. This show freaked me out and I used to have nightmares about it. Now all I remember is the quiet chant of "Its the tiki-tiki-tiki-tiki room, its the tiki-tiki-tiki-tiki room". Honestly, I'm still kind of scared of it XD
I empathize with this because i lost my SHIT on the winnie the pooh ride as a kid. I was obsessed with the idea of the ride since she told me we were gonna go to disneyland, so I straight up forced my mom to take us all to the pooh ride first thing. but the heffalumps and woozles got me screeeeeeaming and looking traumatized for the rest of the trip. My siblings will never let me forget

We always went 2 D'land every year & my mom always had 2 go 2 the Tiki Room. I hated it. Would give anything 2 have one more day 2 take her 2 the Tiki Room as many times as she wanted & I would love it.

Awesome…we first went to Disneyland when I was five. I was too small to ride on most attractions but I was able to attend this show which left me thrilled. While waiting for my brothers & sisters to get off the Matterhorn my mom and I saw Walt Disney. So. I beat everyone.

The first time I saw the Tiki Room, the beautiful white birds singing "Let's all sing like the birdies sing" just cracked me up. I was expecting them to sing something far more elegant.

Great show but what confuses me is they are supposed to be Hawaiian and they have Spanish accents.
There's an Irish one, 'mexican' one, German and French one too. Only jose has a very crappy 'Mexican' accent

Well it was recorded quite a few decades ago and might have these crappy accents for a comedic effect..
Ashley Johnson no he’s Irish. There’s a little easter egg where the four main birds are colored like their native flags. Michael is colored orange, white, and green which is Irish
And French accents. And Mexican accents. And German accents. And Irish accents... They've all migrated to the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room.

When I was in the room, I laughed like a maniac while they were singing the chorus. Quite amusing.

The first attraction from Disneyland I ever went to.
Richard M. Sherman, one of the remaining Sherman Brothers, has passed away today at the age of 95. He and his brother Robert(who passed away in 2012) wrote the Tiki Tiki Tiki Room along with It’s a Small World and Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (from Carousel of Progress). Richard and Robert will be dearly missed. RIP😇🙏❤

The enchanted tiki room 1of the best Disneyland attractions from the 1960s a nice touch to the enchanted tiki room is the little pre show outside the enchanted tiki room where you encounter these sentient statues of the Hawaiian gods and goddesses and the moment you approach them they tell you a little bit about themselves
My mom and I used to joke about how the tikis during the war chant sound like they had too much Taco Bell 😂

I miss this show sad that it was being changed or when they closed it. one time I went to go but relived it was closed I was sad and went to space mountain instead.

Still a chorus between the toucan-centric and bird of paradise-centric verses, and ANOTHER chorus and the verse that rhymes agree with glee still are missing from the title song, "ELCHENDOR" among others still missing..
When I went to the Mouse Kingdom in the 1970s (very often), my parents got a record of this show, I have it now, and yes, it has those missing parts. Now, when I see this show, I keep thinking "hey, they cut this part!"

for some reason i am not comparing these two together but the tiki room reminds me of chuck e cheese cause back in 1978 the animatronics were in potraits and you have to look up to see the animatronics

Someone just told me the Bear Country Jamboree is gone?! My dad would sing Blood on the Saddle all the way back to San Diego! Please tell me Mr. Toad's Wild Ride is still there.
Yeah country bear jamboree I think the Disneyland version of it in California closed on September 9, 2001 but the one in Florida is still there I think. And me toad wild ride is still here in DL CA but not in Florida

Each of the main four birds are of different nationalities. Spanish, Irish, French, and German are all represented by José, Michael, Pierre, and Fritz.

This reminds of Easter play. Everyone is happy, singing, dancing and celebrating when Jesus is alive, and upset when the devil has Christ killed( tikis are offended by celebrating) and happiness returns when Jesus has resurrection.

OTC Productions they are outside and around the walls of the room
They were sacrificed to Rosita and she ascended to a higher plane of existence, thus her absence
If the show gets an upgrade, it will include Scuttle from The Little Mermaid, Summer from Disney Junior's Muppet Babies, Iago from Aladdin, Zazu from the Lion King, and Kevin from Disney Pixar's Up. What do you think? Let me know.

They tried it a few years with Iago and Zazu. It didn't last long and when the iago animatronic caught fire, they changed it back
