The Tiki Room has such a special place in my heart. Everytime I go, I get caught up in thinking about how these are the same birds, same flowers, same voices I heard as a little girl when I went with my Poppy. It's the only attraction that gets me so choked up. Thank you for your hard work in documenting not only this, but everything else. It means so much to so many of us.

Happy 60th Anniversary, Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room. 🦜🏝🥥 My friend's grandmother really liked this attraction at Disneyland that she felt like a child again. 🤣It never dies, but there's a lot of nostalgia within the beauty of the Audio-Animatronics and the music that's composed by The Sherman Brothers. 💃🏼

I visited the Tiki room once on my single childhood trip to Disneyland, well over 20 years ago. The music is glued with perfect accuracy in my memory, despite not hearing it for all that time. I can't say the same most of the rest of my trip there.
I literally fly for an airline in Hawaii because of this room. Dole Whips and cooling off on hot afternoons watching that dole ad about Hawaii going “that’s a million miles away- I wonder what it’s like there” Now every morning when I wake up I can hear a hundred birds or so singing… Never really thought about the importance of this room, but you’re right, this room changed my life.

I sing the Tiki Room song to my mini parrot, my conure Tiki, and Tiki bob's it's little head up and down and fluffs up all the happy feathers. When my daughter Lyric was little, (probably close to two), her first time at the Tiki room was special. She was amazed, and so full of joy she had everyone around her smiling and laughing with her. It was very sweet. Special memories.
I’m remember seeing this at Disneyland when I visited from New Zealand at 8 years old. This was one of my most memorable places at Disneyland. The birds singing made me laugh! 😂

My first exposure to the Tiki Room was the song on an old cassette of Sherman Brothers' songs as a toddler, then during my first trip to Disney in the late 90s as a 7 year old it was the very first thing I was begging my parents to go do.
Also, a real conversation I had last year with my stepdad and my mom… “She’s afraid of the walls.” “Yes. I’m TERRIFIED of wood with faces.” (Me) “But you’re still gonna go in and watch?” “Hell yes, this is one of the best shows at any theme park in existence for a least sixty years.” (Me)
This show makes me feel like I’m on an Hawaiian island, it used to be a restaurant, but it didn’t really work out, they just kept the benches for people to sit on, they just made it into a room with the audio-animatronics birds singing, and then they can sit there and watch the show and eat whatever they like in the room.
I love this! I’m in my living room playing this on surround speakers. It’s glorious! 🤙🏻How long did it take you to get such clean recordings without other noise? 😲😆
Ach du Lieber! I'm getting all choked up, both in memories and to see that this most charming of Disney "rides" is still around! It's been 20 years since I last saw it and had expected that it too would have fallen prey to New Disney, the company that has apparently utterly lost its way. May *somebody* at that company have the brains to never, ever touch this one! EDIT: So, there *was* a notorious effort to mess this one up under Eisner. Quel surprise. Fortunately that was undone.
Love it! BUt as someone who has NEVER visted Disneyland ( aged 53 and and from the UK its still on my bucketlist to do ) and watching the vid (why) do disney have the 4 diffrent named birds with accents (french , german ,mexican and for some strange reason an irish accent) BUT when they start singing the tiki tiki room song the soundtrack has that afro carribean accent of the singer ? (not that im nit picking as i loved the vid and the show and im sure someone will tell me / explain in the comments😉 ) AND I KNOW that the songs are the orignal ones recorded for the tiki room way back when! ...Just confused me a bit was all! BUT HEY it is what it is AND FOR ENTERTAINMENT PURPOUSES ...THE TIKI room does its job well and glad to see its still going strong after 60yrs..NOT many theme park rides / entertainments can claim that distinctive hounour! here's to another 60 yrs of the enchanted tiki room! 😉
