Good video! I like how you explain their poor vision and aggro mechanics, the Revenants aren't terribly clever after farming so many. A few further considerations to make CMDRs' time easier: *Repowering the settlement first for reliable charge ports, after doing enough of these you'll start to be able to recognize the layout/PWR building from the air as you land. *After the resistance changes to Revenants in 16.02 you'll want a Grade 5 rocket launcher to 1-shot Revenants reliably *The minimap at top-left of HUD shows ammo cases and charge ports *Always shield up before handling explosive munitions, a poorly-clipped rocket from cover can spell a quick end to the mission 😅
Nice. I typically land about 1km away and drive an SRV to within 500m and park behind some terrain or big boulders to keep it out the firing line. Then I can return to that after the mission, drive to 1.5km away then recall the ship. Saves even more running.
Interesting! I tend to sneak straight to the PWR centre, restore the power, then loot the settlement and depart. Once power is on, you can run into any building to hide from the Revenants, if needed. The only real risk they pose is if they spot you outside the settlement on the way in.
Just started doing these last couple of days, it is also a cool chance to fight some cyclops near ground (so without the swarm). Overall very cool and atmospheric experience, also nice material drops.
If I hadn't seen one of these missions spawn once purely by accident, many many moons ago, I would be a firm believer they are pure myth. Checking Pathamon, which is in alert, and nearby to Obassi Osaw, which has a military economy in counterstrike. Still don't see them spawning after waiting for a few mission board refreshes.
it's always a pleasure to watch your videos.... How did you upgrade the Rak launcher? +ammo I have seen, and I guess the Maverrick has +mag too. Looking forward to the next clip 👍👍👍
Yes, that would be very interesting for me as well. My idea would be: Maverick with Night vision, Faster Shield Regen, Extra Ammo and Damage resist. (But I am not sure that would really make sense, especially the Damage Resist, does this work against Revenants?) Rocket Launcher with Mag Size, Reload Speed, Faster Handling and Stowed Reload But also here, there might be better options.
@@moviefan8939 My fav Thargo-Hammer /Maverrick) are Faster Shield Regen, o2, silent steps, stronger Batt.night sign nice to have but not importend the taget´s made the light
Truly confused as when I find a nearby populated 'Alert' system that is near a Counterstrike system and find a starport to land on, the disembark button is greyed out. Am I missing something here? It seems to be the case for a lot of stations/settlements. Am I supposed to be looking for populated stations now too? (i.e. not just relying on system being populated) or something else, thanks
To defend your ship against the Revenants lasers you want to run a high thermal resistance on your shields. EDIT Be aware things can get a little crazy doing these missions in a teams EDIT We had 2 missions going at the same time EDIT This was the issue. o7
Just did a few of these in a team, and didn't have an issue. I would say make sure that only 1 person take a mission per settlement, and then share it. if you have more than 1 active mission for the same settlement, things get squirrely.
Did they change Revenant health? I finally found a G3 rocket launcher but they survive the first shot with ~15% health. Or do i have to hit some kind of weak spot?
I just tried these mission for the first time and they may have added a bit more to them that I don't understand. There is now a yellow missile thing that comes at your ship and upon landing within 1km, it seems I attract every Revenant and the Banshee comes over and I end up getting melted outside the settlement. Is there a stealth way to approach or is it just a matter of tanking the arrival and getting around some cover?

Thanks Buur, as someone who was really put off by the glaive, sythe, titan, revanent developments. This video may help.
It's a shame reactivating the settlement doesn't cause the base defenses to engage the Thargoids.
That would be 👍
@williamvorkosigan5151 you pick the missions up from the SHIP mission board. No need to disembark. O7

FINALLY!! This is exactly the Revenant guide I've been looking for. Thank you!

Do those revenents drop mats like the elusive Tactical Core Chip?

@@hauptmanngunnar3960 Thanks, Do you know if Damage resits works against Revenants? (On ships it is useless against AX)
Great video! What were the strengths and resistances on your cobra’s shields? They looked like prismatics.
hmm wondering if my silenced g5 executioner will oneshot them
Very informative. o7
Since years I am to stoooopid to find this mission type... And I still couldn't find them

I'm a bit tired to grind through the high intensive CZs

How do revenants fair against a G5 executioner??
2 shots to kill

F for Jeff the Revenant @ 5:45
Jeff was the best of us o7
As per another great video, but how do you deal with the Banshee as well. Seems F Dev love to change things up.
No luck here with Purukuna in a state of alert but nothing close to it.
wait what!! suit night vision not only ships and vehicles?!
Engineering!
All sorts of upgrades and perks can be added.
First 🥇 🏆
not fair! :D
When you say to look for a "nearby" system in a Thargoid Alert state, what counts as "nearby"?
