@@HelsinkiVampire it’s pretty close between Rhaenyra and Viserys, tbh. The latter can, at the begging, be easy to hate, but the more you rewatch the show, the more you understand and appreciate his character, I would say. 😊

Well I think that's how it goes in the book so if it holds true to that part she should be pretty bad ass before she goes down. And she should have Aegon horrifically disfigured and suffering for the rest of the series.

The book was stated by the author to be Maester propaganda which was slated in favor of the greens. The show is supposed to be closer to what actually happened. However I've heard GRRM also say the that show is what happened from yet another pov. It's really up to the viewer/reader I guess to discern the truth.
Alicent gave that same dragon statue to Viscerys. She misses him now that she can see what a mad king does instead of a great one as Jahaeris and Viscerys were . Can’t even deny I think she knows now that Rhaenyra would be a better one

I know Rhaenys didn't want to overstep and cause unnecessary damage, but man. She seriously should have at least taken Daemon's invitation to take down Vhagar into consideration. Even if it's after some time when Rhaenyra is back and level headed.
They are at war, and the only serious fighting chance the Greens had was Vhagar. The Blacks have alot more dragons, but Aemond has Vhagar. Vhagar alone could possibly conquer the Seven Kingdoms, Dorne being the exception, if they had ground forces to back up Vhagar's aerial support.
Daemon+Caraxes and Rhaenys+Meleys could *definitely* kill Vhagar. Man
Meleys alone would have a chance against Vhagar

This episode is going to be a defining moment on whether or not they actually stick to the source material. The battle with Rhaenys, Aemond, and Aegon could always play out differently than in the books, and if the outcome is different than the ending will be different, and the show will definitely have everyone HOOKED.
I feel like they have been giving us little precious moments with Rhaenys and Corlys cuz she does in fact die and die brutally.
Oh it's that time already? they did the Vhagar vs Arrax very well, this being a proper fight in comparison should be 10x better, too bad about Rhaenys though, she's a boss lady and a cool character

Great breakdown
My guess is the first 20mins is the greens taking rosby stokeworth and darklyn. Executes lord darklyn then adds them to their armies. Then the last 40mins is aegon2 deciding to not let cole and aemond get all the glory and jumps on sunfyre and battle of rooks rest happens. Episode ends
Why is everyone pretending people have battled on dragons before? Don't most dragon riders just fly for fun?
I'm guessing they are also trained in battle, regardless of if they are in peace times
They must know they semi wield a nuclear weapon and they even if they lived a life of mostly leisure they must accept that their companion is a weapon of war that can be called upon if needed.
No before the story of house of dragons there was many wars even when there was times of peace the red queen and a few dragons have been sent to war many times but mostly one sided wars due to only one side having dragons

It is even worse if they do it the way in the book. With Rhaenyra not going herself, or allowing Jace to go. Just sending Rhaenys alone.
And WHY didn't Meleys run? She was the fastest dragon alive. she could have gone to Harrenhal to Caraxes to make it two on two.
Instead it was Meleys against Vhagar, Sunfyre and the bolts and arrows of the Green army. Really unfair fight.
Obviously aegon will attack first , almost get killed then aemond steps in , it wouldn’t make sense if aegon attack second and be the one to get injured
I could see a 2v1 where Rhaneys uses her flight experience to maneuver to yet around Vhagar/Aemond leaving Aegon exposed and she lights him up and then Vhagar and Aemond light her up in return.

I think we want action packed but we have to remember this is game of thrones. Everything will be spread out. This show is definitely going to go 5 season. We know the ending already, which means they are going to spread it out for at least 3 more season before we have a full all out war.

Sure but the blacks ultimately win, despite the heavy losses. If they don’t follow those losses they aren’t following the book, and if you don’t follow the book you shouldn’t be making an adaptation at all.

Season 8 of game of thrones is its own work because George hasnt wrote the book for what would happen in season 8. The same cant be said for house of the dragon, that story is already written

I find it unlikely that Sunfyre and Aegon will arrive and save Aemond and Vhagar given how the end of the fight plays out in the books unless they're going to seriously diverge from a pretty major plot point involving Sunfyre and Aegon that is a direct result of their fight with Meleys

That was only true for Daenerys on the show, though. Other Targaryens suffer burns like any other human being. (Her brother Viserys and Jon being some of them!)
She also is not at all fireproof in the books. Drogon accidentally burns her at least once.
If battle of rooks rest is episode 4, then we may see fall of kings landing in this season!
To be honest I think they're going to end the season with the Gods Eye. Then next season will end with Rhae and Aegon.

I love the show, but I know how dance of the dragons happends, this is a bit of slow show, they are kind of draging this a lot., and its going to continue since we getting season 3. dont get me wrong, I like it, but lets have the same energy we've had for the Peter Jacksons Hobbit.
Considering how boring and low effort the last two episodes were, I'm glad the action is finally starting. After all, episode 4 is half way through the season already.
I dont think we will see the dragons fight this soon. Also if dragons were to fight, they would have hyped it in the trailer itself.

ep 3 was kinda sloppy and off, too many shot too gratuitous to function (the fell*tio, Aemon's little dragon, the crow eating from the rat catcher), not even mention Rhaenyra waliking down Kng's Landing as a septa with full make up on...hope it inly gets better

There is alot to the rooks rest battle. Either way its going to be good and nasty the way a dragon fight should be. Baring any significant changes the battle should hopefully hit as deep as the battle of the bastards did with a resounding holy fu@k feeling that HBO always looks for. At least they found a way to make things bigger than Tony soprano !!🤘🤘

How Vhagar and Aemond cannot cope with a small dragon and that dragon harm the Sunfire and Aemon? And that dragon riding by a girl, it is ridiculous. Vhagar supposed to swallow that dragon...
1 vhagar is 236 feet and meleys is 150plus feet ( even she has smaller tail compare to vhagar and even sunfyre) she's the fastest dragon also her Strength can be compared to caraxes
2 don't use real life logic and become sigma rhaenys is much more experienced then aemond ever was . Also visenya was equal to aegon the conquerer in combat so don't use men and women real logic here it's a fictional world

1. Caraxes is male and yeah in this case males dominate like vermithor is larger than silverwing and they both are same age
2. Caraxes due magic fluctuations is flying firewyrm ☠️ and he's flames are no match , Endurance like none other dragon( proved in god's eye battle) and due to this in he's size class ( 100 to 120) feet no one can challenge him in Strength even after that noodle like build
