Uboat Captain: "We have sunk so many ships, sent so many Merchant sailors to a watery grave... I can't wait to see my wife and kids back in beautiful Dresden."
In case you're unaware you can pull up alongside the crates labelled as "wreckage" left by sinking merchants and mount them to your boat's deck to loot them or use them as an extra two slots of storage for ammunition or food, usually they'll have some basic food items or spare parts inside which is always useful. On top of that it's worth keeping at least one load of AP 20mm ammo as well as HE so you can let loose with your AA gun to finish off targets you don't want to waste main gun ammo on, inevitably this becomes more effective when you mount more AA guns as a FlaKvierling can pump out an awful lot of those projectiles.
If you click with the right button of your mouse on the undetected group of ships it will automatically set an interception course with it, there is no need to mark those points to discover its trajectory. Thanks!

Probably because coming across that many liberty ships with NO guns was pretty much impossible. Most carried 3 or 4 inch guns, some both, some even carried a 5, while most also had AA guns in the .50, 20mm or 40mm mould. And subs REALLY dont like having holes poked in them, it may not 'sink' them but it will prevent them submerging, which was pretty much a death sentence to a U-boat captain, particularly later in the war. Also, the convoy tactics of the AI here were well off. Even if they were all completely unarmed, the ship that was too close to escape would turn to ram, not just carry on sailing its original course, while the others would split in all directions so the U-boat could only sink one or two.

Bro! you are so good at this game it makes it interesting to watch. Maybe you could show us examples of when things go wrong or common mistakes new players make> (Maybe you do have these videos but I do not see)?
I know of some tutorials on steam and elsewhere on how to find armed convoys, but it will be a little hard considering the u-96 saves are on easy mode, might want to move to a different kind of save, perhaps on very hard
I didn't realize the U-96 career was on easy mode. I would go with a late war game but I don't see it being any different. A lot of the Allied equipment doesn't seem to be modeled.
Try to avoid deck gun duels in a submarine. Remember ships can take numerous hits and keep going, but one hit on a sub can do serious damage. In WW2 deck guns were rarely used on submarines. They were a useful deterrent early in the war when merchant ships were largely unarmed, but once they began arming the merchants it made engaging from the surface practically suicidal. By mid-war many u-boat captains removed the deck gun for the slight speed benefit.
That's not a machine gun, it's a 20 mm cannon. Not sure about the HE effect on ship hulls, except indirectly through fires, but the AP should easily punch through a tin can.
I agree it would be possible for the 20 mm round to punch through the hull of a merchant ship. However these ships still had water right compartments and unless you are hitting the ship at the waterline not much is going to happen. Even if you are hitting the ship at the waterline and they are taking on water it is not going to be all that much. Not to mention damage control on the merchant ship would be working to pump the water out. It would take A LOT more ammo to sink ships of this size. Unlike what is represented in the game where it is almost comical. Also, sorry if I referred to it as a MG. Thanks was a slip up on my end.

I have no interest in what this is but I’m hooked and have to finish it .
Hunt for the Red October stuff and your a pleasure to listen to .
Holy moly! Big brain plays nice.
Just bought it and loving it already! Steaming towards Portsmouth for a drop-off. How do you get the stopwatch?
It is part of the TDC mod on the steam workshop!
I love the realistic foam shader!
It's best to use Flack AP rounds against ships IMO, and reaaaaaallly get close. How close? Close enough for them to see your smile and hear your warcry of "DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA"
Haha.
Good video. I am curious what the vacation options were and what all those menus from the man with the nice car looked like. Nice awards.
I have waited for this
Sorry about the wait!
This is captain kirk logging in on the enterprise.
Just got this game for me and 2 friends. Now to learn to play it. Don't have a clue. This should be fun,
there was an instance in WW2 where a very frustrated u-boat commander couldnt sink a merchant ship..........it was loaded with cork.
This game is good and I love it 🥰
But! But...... there is one game I won’t forget and won’t stop loving it.... it on my most favorite game I’ve ever played in my life... Silent Hunters 1 - 5 who ever played dose games in our childhood times... we all know that it’s one of the best ww2 naval game ever.
Just got a computer can’t wait to play this game
29:00 yeah we don't see shit, yt compression xD
Really unfortunate :/
Nice work Wolfpack! Will you get the battery boat in silent hunter III? Keep it up!
Grand Iron cross for whomever is in command of the pack destroying the convoy there.
Just bought this game and have no idea what I’m doing 😂 but I’ve played cold waters and silent hunter so hopefully I can get it soon.
If you have played those games you should be able to pick this up just fine.
Happy Hunting!
Its so buggy mate i have 30 hours nearly and i suggest you to save the game as much as you can sometimes when you try to load game crashes, sometimes bugs out in the see need to get restart.
I would have liked to see you take out those unarmed ships, up close to see what the damage looks like, from the gun sight's. Nice video, look foward to more, thanks.
This game looks beautiful, especially coming from SH4 TMO. I really hope this dev makes a Pacific Fleetboat version.
Bro! you are so good at this game it makes it interesting to watch. Maybe you could show us examples of when things go wrong or common mistakes new players make> (Maybe you do have these videos but I do not see)?
My God, this boat is amazing
Wow, nice gameplay. Subbed!
Thanks!!
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought it was an actually navy video until I saw “gameplay” in the title.
Same but it is cool
Oh my god this game is amazing. Doing all that math before engagement reminds me of my FISTer days.
What position were you on the FIST team?
Not sure about the HE effect on ship hulls, except indirectly through fires, but the AP should easily punch through a tin can.
wow i always thought they were around .50 cal. I wonder if subs really could carry that many rounds of 20mm for a patrol? 2000 seems like a lot!
@@jonbowman7686 They had quad 20 mm cannons later in the war. Double quads even, and a 37 mm cannon too. Ofc by then the deck gun had been removed.
