That voice of Tony makes me goose bumps. !!...this is music and CLASS. No mics just beautiful singing. His voice is outstanding. And the group is awesome. Miss them. RIP to all. 😢❤❤
Might be lip sync, but that’s ok
My absolute favorite group of all time! No one can sing “The Great Pretender” or “Harbor Lights” like they can.
TONY VOICE IS BEAUTIFUL THIS SONG TAKE YOU TO THE 50S ❤❤❤
Tony Williams, a pure tenor voice, the like of which we never see today. And what a joy Zola Taylor is,
Heavenly voice 😍Tony Williams and his fellow singers ,truly one of the best musician in the world ever existed 👏👏👏❤
They may be gone but not forgotten 🎶🇺🇲💯👍
Yes!!
Tony Williams
The Best of the Platters
“Gone But Never Forgotten”
Best of the 60’s era
The Platters invokes unforgettable and enduring Memories of the 60’s never to Be forgotten for those who lived through those wonderful endearing years.

No vulgar antics or lyrics like the music of today; just pure talent with a God given voice!!!!
simply Fantastic. 🌹🌹
One more time for the Gipper.
Platter’s The Best of the World’s Best’s ever and will never be surpassed.
This is so beautiful the platters were and always will be the greatest group ever produced , and will be played a hundred years from now , Shirley h Darlington England 🌹⭐👍😘✋
Pure class act. Great singer Tony and great backing vocals and one beautiful woman.
the beautiful woman was his little sister and when they =started out he had to take her to rehearsals
@@johnmacur7872 I did not know that but her name was Zola Taylor and his was Tony Williams. And yes. she was very beautiful. Check out the you tube video, The Platters The Great Pretender, great close up shots of her.
@@Daniel-ow2ioDe toute beauté, solaire ❤🙏
I saw them on the Ed Sullivan show when I was just a kid and I thought she was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.
Too bad they don’t have songs like this anymore.
One of those Great Songs this Group sang, and did it so well. It is still nice to listen it so many years later, as quality never goes out of date.
Definitely one of my favorite groups. I listen to them all the time. Amen!
In my heart I believe that Tony and the platters are probably the greatest most beautiful artist since they started until now. Just listen to one of their songs and I think everyone would agree
One of the best groups ever not to mention the mid 50's maybe the best at the time!
AT 83 I still soo admire rthe contributions of this group & Tony to great popular music!!!
Great song. Tony WAS the golden cloud for the platters!
Tony Williams maybe the greatest voice in all of the 50's and 60's.
YES YES YES
All time , he and Javier solis .
Whatever happened to him?
Probably so. His ,for lack of a better word, replacement,Sonny Turner was magical himself.
I thought every Platters songs in the early days,Tony Williams was their only leader,I also know but don't remember when Tony Williams left to go out on his own !! someone please name 2 or 3 songs Turner was the lead singer for the Platters so I can hear how good he was
In my opinion. The greatest voice ever, to get behind a microphone. R.I.P my brother🙏🏾
Though we cant turn back the hands of time but ur music lives on godbless platters
Absolutely
Difficult to say that'cos you are getting all singers together in "the crooners" period of time, but yes I get you. Don't forget Nat King Cole 😉✌🏽
I’m a big Nat King Cole fan. But I’ll give Tony Williams the edge over him because of his range. However, they were both great singers….
@@CharlieS76 they said in their opinion. So they can say that. Nat was good but not this guy good.
They were the best ever
No one could touch Tony singing.
One of the greatest groups ever
Sixty nine years ago, people. And here we are. Listening to Tony Williams, Herb Reed, Paul Robi, Zola Taylor and David Lynch. I can't think of any present groups capable of doing that...if I knew who they were.
These songs from the Platters takes me back over 50 years. Thank you!!
Tony Williams is the best singer in his era.
I hope their music never dies. People will need to hear this in a hundred years...❤
Not as long as I'm alive or any generation that loves this. Our music will survive us.
One thousand years in the future somewhere in the asteroid belt, this song will be playing on a jukebox in a rough & tumble miners' bar. The drinks will be strong, the memories bittersweet. Nostalgia will never die. 💙
The undying songs of The Platters still reverberate in my mind after the passing of time.
i feel the same way brother
They were and are the best!
I love the Platters any song they sing is fantastic, it remind me of my youth , merci beaucoup.

How nice they dressed in the fifties Love the group. Good job
Brings back so many beautiful memories hearing them sing again.
I loved them ever since I was a teenager.... thousands of years later.... I STILL DO!!!
Cantaban de forma celestial fue toda una verdadera época romántica con este grupo gracias por compartir , recordar es volver a vivir
I saw them live in Montreal when I was young and lived there. Elegant performers and so talented. Seeing this brings back good memories.❤️❤️
that beautiful voice
Marvelous all the way! God given talent! Even the satisfied look on the instrument players, as the time was shared with them, seemed to say, there's no place on Earth I'd rather be, than right here! Thanks for putting them on!🌈💖⚘
Well said.
It will always be number one in my heart Only you and only you the platters
They were fabulous!!
I love them my mom played their albums all day when I was little and I knew all the songs ! Amazing voices
Sing Tony Williams! The best of the best from that era!!❤
I wish i could go back in time and see them perform live.
If you find a way i wanna go too!
Guys ,they still perform around in the world, I saw them in Australia back in 2014-only difference is no Herb Reed, and also had a different female vocalist.
@@davidsomerset8411 Guys, they still perform around in the world, I saw them in 2014 when they came to Australia, only difference is no Herb Reed, and a different female vocalist.
@@kenlee-97 I understand. But those are not the original members. I was referring to the original Platter singers: Tony Williams, David Lynch, Alex Hodge (or Paul Robi), Herb Reed and of course Zola Taylor.
i was a youngster in thosse days ...my sisters always danced to these songs....i was able to see then twice in person over the years but not with tony or zola....but they were still great....certainly were one of a kind....no other group could quite match them
love this group, can't help humming and swaying when i hear they sing
What a legacy to humanity...it gives me a young heart❤❤❤
This is REAL music!
He was so handsome too😊
Great group. One for all time.
Best lyrics ever,so cool
Como es posible que en 2021, abril 17 esta música nos llegue a alma... letras maravillosas, voces espectaculares . Como la juventud escucha la bazofia actual?
I am almost 80 years old and this is the music my dad liked when I was like 5 I used to play Harbor Lights on the piano that was in my grandma's house when I was little and it is the most beautiful music I've ever heard I will be 80 years old in 4 years and to me the platters were and will always be the best group around🥰💜❤👍
Rare beautiful voice..
I was in high school back in the 50s when this group was performing and I absolutely loved them. Beautiful!
Brings tears to my eyes.. tears of joy
One of the greatest voices and Zola looks fabulous, smart move to put her forward ;-)
Fabulous Group Great songs takes me back to my youth I could listen to them all night
Tony Williams did not need backup singers. His voice was enough to thrill you.
Verdades emoção pura
Yes he could have made it on his own like Nat king cole, like diana rosa. As a matter of fact, my preferencia is for him over Nat king cole, his voice was a violin,. Smooth and could prolong the notes. We are Lucky that we had him.
Para mí l
Sa mejor voz del mundo😊
Oh well, it gave him someone to talk to when they were on the road.😉😉
One of the best groups of the 50s and the 60s love the platters
Good old time ! 👍
My ex wife and I saw them 50 years ago shortly after I came home from VN. Hearing this brings back some fond memories.

Pure gold
Perfect song!
Great music in the 50's .
Me encanta la música de esa época y con estas grandes y maravillosas voces.
Lo que hoy de verdad no se escucha, me hubiera gustado ser de esa época. Y con todas las dificultades que había.
Good music never gets old, this one is too beautiful!! Thank you for sharing.
i was in mid elementary scheool when most of the patters songs were popular....my older sisters would dance to these hits, where my dad owned a restaurant and alowed the teens to dance on certain nights and slower days.....i always envied the teens and wanted to much to be one and be able to dance with all the pretty girls....later as a teen i became a musician and played a lot of dances but always loved the platters for their brilliant singing abilities.....although i was more of a rocker muician.....do woop is still and will always be my favorite musical era
I certainly will love to see this group perform live even in this video...
Love this song

Beautiful music, lyrics, and voice. Pure class.

❤❤❤❤Ni hablar esto es lo mejor de lo mejor.no hay más que melodías.Mus respetos a ellos y ella tan guapa. No que ahora.😢😢😢😢Zapopan Jalisco.abril 2023.
The Platters were and remain a legend, a vocal group that made doo-wop a sublime art, appropriating it to the point of making it impossible for anyone after them to use it without being accused of posing as their imitator.
I had the pleasure of meeting and knowing the platters in Atlanta that's where I'm originally from,
I didn't finish my comment I worked in underground Atlanta at the front page now working at the front page it entitled me to go to all the shows there and underground Atlanta that's one underground Atlanta was really underground Atlanta The platters would appear at the palace oh God four five times a year and I got to know them that's Domino's I mean the list just goes on and on but the platters they were fantastic. I so so miss those days. Most of these people have expired all my family and friends have expired and I know that I have expiration date but I'm still hanging on I'm 77 I was in my mid twenties when I come to know the platters and they were starting to age and that's okay but they never lost their voice they were unreal.
Lucky you ! What I would give to shake their hands in appreciation for this incomparable lovely music that lives on .
Beautiful. (2024)
Thank you. ❤

Tony, the best!
Impressionante como a arte e a qualidade foram se perdendo ao longo dos anos e não nós demos conta disso.
