very informative! Thank you for this! My husband and I are also a bi national same sex couple like Aditya & Michael. I am an Indian citizen and my husband is a US citizen. We had also been discriminated against and split apart from Covid-19 for over a year and we reunited after a whole year in Nepal as tourists in March 2021. We are still here in Nepal and cannot enter India because the so called tourist visa restrictions are NOT yet relaxed. They are only giving 1 month free tourist visas but previous long term tourist visa will be cancelled then! We never had the option to apply for the X1 spouse entry visa (form used words "Bride" and "groom")! We are married for 3 years now and a couple for 8 years! We married in Denmark Copenhagen as tourists and I had applied for a schengen tourist visa to Denmark declaring the purpose of visit as "soliciting a bi national same sex marriage as it cannot be solicited in India".
