So this song and video is semi-based on a true story. Dave "The Snake" Sabo (guitarist) wrote the song after reading about an 18 year old in LA who got life in prison for breaking and entering, drunk and disorderly, and first degree murder. He did in fact shoot another 18 year old friend dead in the chest one night while drunk on the streets. The name Ricky was supposedly chosen to fit better with the song and to protect the 18 yr old's identity. If you are interested, "Youth Gone Wild" was the world's first introduction to Skid Row, you should check that out too.
He was such a handsome man with beautiful hair and the best part he's one of the greatest voice ever in history of popular music (I don't wanna write rock cause he's much more than this). That voice! Those cheekbones! That hair! I used to be in a little bit of disbelief that, as a teenage girl, I wished to have the hair of Sebastian Bach 😂 Great reaction 🤘
I saw that concert in Biloxi, MS. It was great! Sebastian Bach ripped the back side of his tight leather pants… the entire seam and kept on singing…. After showing the audience of course 😂.

Skidrow's song WASTED TIME. Hits very very hard, especially when you know what it's about and anyone that has watched someone fall to addiction can identify with it.
The guy who played Ricky lives down here in Wilmington NC. He said he was paid something like 200$ cash and all the beer he could drink while shooting the video

He did that on I Will Remember You.... which is the best one to start with in terms of hearing Bach's voice. BP had the appropriate stunned reaction. 😂
Skid Row band was based out of NJ. Song idea was came from a local news report of a similar event. Yes the most successful bands in the eighties had a formula. Stunningly handsome lead singer with great hair and great vocal range, three guitars or two guitars and a keyboard, insane drummer, all members could sing and an ability to present raw metal rock song or grab your attention with a power ballad. Skid Row’s success was with Sebastian. After they fired him, never had another hit. Each part of the formula must be outstanding. When a component of it is gone, their success dwindles. Some reunite, some don’t. Some stay whole. Those bands are magical.
"That child blew a child away" hits like a punch in the teeth from Holyfield. I think the best thing I was ever taught was to not take anything I was told at face value. If you teach your kids to think for themselves and question everything they will be strong, independent and unwilling to be led by whatever narrative is currently the loudest in our society.
There are too many child's(youth) blowing child's away from day to day,,,epidemic the gun violence.... who is raising these kids what happened to society?....
There's few things I love more than watching younger people hear a song from my generation and find out how great it really was. You're only a few years younger than me but a first hearing is a first hearing. First time visiting the channel, and you got my sub. Keep it up!

Skid Row, G&R, Great White, Def Leppard, Poison, Warrant, and so on. The music varied slightly from one band to the other, but at the base, the sound you hear is the same. I had them ALL on EVERY inch of my wall, and when I ran out of wall space, I used the ceiling. LOL. Sebastian Bach watched me sleep every night, and let me tell you, it was a BEAUTIFUL thing to wake up to. He had an amazing voice. A lot of those bands came over from Europe. It was basically the second wave of the British Invasion. I know Def Leppard was, Europe, obviously, Metallica...I think Whitesnake...Iron Maiden...I know Ozzy was. They came over when the US started the hair band craze here, and I couldn't get enough of them. I didn't go to concerts because I was/am partially deaf, and that kind of sound when you aren't used to being to hear is BRUTAL. @@laurabailey1054- Sebastian's voice is still great. Sebastian is an actor and singer on Broadway now.
Fired his six shots into the wind, that child blew a child awayyyyyy. That is the hardest hitting line!

It hits even harder because this song is based on a true story. The teenager was drunk, shot his friend dead, and ended up with life in prison.
