I’m a 52 yr old woman that seen over 200 concerts in the 80s in the heights of hair metal. I can GUARANTEE if they had hit in 86/87, they would have blown EVERY DAMN BAND OUT THE WATER!!! POINT BLANK!!! PERIOD!!!
This is my favorite favorite power ballad ever!! I’ve seen them in concert In 90/91.Honestly, I blame Nirvana and grunge scenes for killing off the 80s hair/metal bands. Steelheart is so underrated band.
@@jdevanzo Not billboard hits, but they had several songs that were very popular. Can't stop me loving you, Everybody loves Eileen, Sheila, She's Gone and many more.
If you like this one then you need to go listen to Shes Gone from the same band. Youll love it and what makes this lead singer different from the rest is he still sounds like this live today. No auto tune needed. He can still hit those notes! Hes amazing. Also he goes by Mike cuz his name is hard for people
I just found your channel because I was looking for reactions to this song. His voice is so amazing. I was lucky to grow up in the 80's. Music was so great back then.
I was Junior in high school 1990 when this was popular still gives me chills 80's best decade for music, Im still rockin out to hairband concerts. I was so lucky to grow up in this era.
Grunge took over the radio in mid-'90s, and hair metal took a backseat in America. These guys would still have crushed in Europe. Steelheart was maybe the first "big" rock band I ever saw live, back in '91 at a small local club when I was 18, just barely old enough to get in with an X on my hand. Back then, I was impressed, and can still smell the fog machines in my memories.
I’m so glad you did this one. I recommended it after seeing your Skid Row reaction video and you mentioning Sebastian’s vocal range. I get chills and cry when I hear this song!! So underrated.
This group is HUGE in South Korea. they are MEGA stars there. so they got their fame after all. still to this day their concerts sell out in the first day.
The lead singer climbed an unsecured metal tower and it fell over on to him. It took months and months of recovery. But he still had his voice. 🎵🎼🎶🎸🎙🥁🎧🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 That's the Colorado River, I believe.
Steelheart was just becoming huge when Milijenko suffered the accident while climbing the scaffolding during a concert that broke his neck. He recovered, but the band disbanded and he continued as the lead for a new Steelheart in the Asian scene all the way up to 2015.
Underrated is a understatement when it comes to Miljenko (Steelheart), you would love his new stuff today, they have a website just like the rest. I went to his concert in the 90's before his accident and just went last October 23' and he hasn't lost those vocals from the 90's, he is well seasoned all the way around. They toured with Great White and Bullet Boys and many other great hair bands when music was actually talented singers. Crazy but talented......
This will always be one of my favorite songs, and from the hair band genre, it is at the very top. It always brings me joy when people discover it and enjoy it as much as I do.
12:22 . New subscriber to your channel and fellow Coloradan. This was/is one of the best power ballads. There are more great songs by these guys like -she's gone, we all die young (movie) and another one of my favorites is All Your Love are a must listen. Stay Blessed!!
This song is amazing, backed up with this band, and Miljevic taking the lead. This singer/band I understand never got their dues in part by terrible accident that befell him. The video is BOSS, his voice is on a scale few rise to. Song is beautiful, I sent it to the ONE that is very Special to me. So Beautiful. Thanks SteelHeart!!!
They were just starting to climb up the charts, then the scaffolding acccident happened and stopped the momentum but he lucky to be back singing the way he is.
I think the on stage accident happened when they were really on their way up and it derailed their opportunity to go real big. His lead vocals were untouchable before the accident
BP I think you’re awesome checking out all the different genres on your channel, that I now follow closely.. music brings so many people together if we could all just make it that simple this rock hurling through space would be such a better place to be in the short amount of time we have on it. Appreciate you and your positivity always, also seen one of your recent music venues and your freestyle was banging you said you were going to work hard and start crafting on it and it’s showing! 👍🏼
The magic of the back bend is the floor. There are holders he has his shoes in to keep him from falling. Did you ever see the Michael Jackson video of Smooth Criminal? I think he used it too.🥳🥳🥳
The lean is sick right! His vocals are off the chart! This band had some killer other songs “You Can’t Stop the World From Turning”, “Everyone Loves Eileen”, “She’s Gone” to name a few…they were never as big as the Def Leppard’s and Bon Jovi’s but that has to do with the timing of when they formed and with his injury it prevented touring to support the album.
They released their debut album in 1990. Agree with the sentiment they would have been more popular had they come out four years sooner. That being said, they were and still are HUGELY popular in Asia. "She's Gone" was #1 for something like seventeen weeks there. And yes they, and a much old Mili are still making records and performing here in the states today. And yeah, he can still bring it.
Ya that crazy ass leaning back while singing with that much power is nuts that's one strong ass core right there he does live to not just for video dramatization
so this is the first time i have commented to a reaction video, but i will say i like your style, so i subscribed, i will check out more of your videos, as for these guys (i am a 53 year old, metal head in the 80's) yes they definitely came out to late to hit the hair metal scene with a bigger splash, if they came out in say 85 or 86 i think they would have been bigger. they are technically a no hit wonder as this was their biggest hit and it oinly hit number 23 on the charts, but this is my absolute favorite by them, also i do like the sound track from rockstar that milenko did. but they are not the level of say motley crue, poison, ozzy, def leppard, scorpions, k.i.s.s. or a few others.,
He did the songs of Steel Dragon in the movie Rockstar. That DEFINITELY wasn’t Wahlberg singing, that was Milli. The movie was the first thing he did when he recovered enough to continue working.
yeah, road trips are a lot of fun, if you have the time. my son just turned 4, so he's getting to the age where i want to start taking him on some long trips.
Watch the movie Rockstar, with Mark Walberg. The actual lead singer in all of the songs is the lead singer of steelhart. Also all of the band musicians are famous rock musicians from various bands.
Miljenko has recovered from initial accident. 2023 is their 30th anniversary and he reworked this song to be Angel Eyes (I'll Never Let You Go). Softer version that can be taken more of any relationship instead of love ballad. He recorded it with his beautiful daughter Steviann. Look it up Angel Eyes 2023

I don’t want to fly on a plane after watching the Mayday shows on Saturday. Lol. In reference to road trips. Yea keep me on the ground. I know some people have to fly. It seems here lately that more than a few plane issues arising. Be safe out there. ❤️
I grew up in this era, and I didn't know about Steelheart until 20+ years later. Coming in on the tail end of an 'era', they didn't make it to the top like they should have. Not sure where this song, or their other BIG hit "She's Gone" got to, but considering that I didn't know of either song till 20+ years after, they obviously didn't get much radio play.
10:55 Noticing that back bend is not an odd thing. Everyone notices it and says "how the hell does he do that"? I've seen him do that back bend live for the same note
There are probably a multitude of great 80s singers and musitions you never heard of these are great voices and great great musitions playing real instruments without all the auto tune and crap , and they wrote their own music they didnt depend on stealing others music.
I've got a cool one for you brother, "Lips n Hips" by the Bullet Boys. Would love to see your reaction to this band that was about in the same boat at Steelheart. A little late hitting the big time before the music died somewhere around 1995.
I’m a 52 yr old woman that seen over 200 concerts in the 80s in the heights of hair metal. I can GUARANTEE if they had hit in 86/87, they would have blown EVERY DAMN BAND OUT THE WATER!!! POINT BLANK!!! PERIOD!!!
52 also and I 100% agree with you.
Vocal range insane!
I'm 52 and seen similar, amounts, and you are right
I’m seen my share of concerts and I said the exact same thing..!!!
Turned 57 in June, same on the number of concerts seen...WORD!!!❤
Miljenko Matijevich is one of the best singers on the planet, he is so underrated.
100%!!!
The lead singer didn't die, but he was seriously injured. It took him a long time to recover, but he's still alive and kicking ass today.
"She's Gone". His voice and everything from head to toe! ❤
i love that song! prob one of my top 10 favorite power ballads.
Vocals in that song are otherworldy!
This is my favorite favorite power ballad ever!! I’ve seen them in concert In 90/91.Honestly, I blame Nirvana and grunge scenes for killing off the 80s hair/metal bands. Steelheart is so underrated band.
I'll be there from Red Dawn !!!
One of my all time favorite power ballads from Rock ❤
When people say powerful voice, this is the definition. Amazing
Absolutely. No. Autotune............ Insane Vocal talent
Abs of steel on that backbend, abs of steel!!!
THEY ARE NOT A ONE HIT WONDER! THERE’S A WHOLE LOT MORE!
Steelheart doesn't actually have any hits
@@jdevanzoyes they did, “I’ll never let you go “ was #23 on billboards top 100 in 1991. It was their only hit but they did have a hit.
@@EminS86 yep they had about 5 in the billboards. She's Gone. Everybody Loves Eileen Sticky Side Up
@jdevanzo wrong did you know he is the voice behind Mark Wahlberg in the movie Rockstar!
@@jdevanzo Not billboard hits, but they had several songs that were very popular. Can't stop me loving you, Everybody loves Eileen, Sheila, She's Gone and many more.

I love watching first reactions to this song. Its became my favorite sport cuz everyone is blown away by his voice
I was Junior in high school 1990 when this was popular still gives me chills 80's best decade for music, Im still rockin out to hairband concerts. I was so lucky to grow up in this era.
She's Gone and Can't Stop Me Lovin You show his range even more. He's fantastic
Grunge took over the radio in mid-'90s, and hair metal took a backseat in America. These guys would still have crushed in Europe.

I heard Steelheart on the radio in Kingston Ontario in 91-92 and hunted down their cd in town while I was in university
When Grunge got big there were a lot of casualties from that era. This was a huge song for this band.
Black Pegasus: he’s has a really good voice, incredible
All of us: JUST WAIT!!!!!
He one of the number one and best singer I hear when he started in the 90's
The lead singer climbed an unsecured metal tower and it fell over on to him. It took months and months of recovery. But he still had his voice. 🎵🎼🎶🎸🎙🥁🎧🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 That's the Colorado River, I believe.
It was a magic time to be alive. Comparing how people are today to the way we were back then brings sadness to the heart. 😢
This is a power ballad, you should hear she's gone live version unplugged.
I hope BP reacts to the unplugged version of She's Gone by Steelheart.
Just seen Miljenko Majetivic last weekend in Texarkana AR acoustic he's absolutely amazing. Miljenko is the lead singer of Steelheart
Dude you just look like you're having fun and I'm here for it.
Steelheart was just becoming huge when Milijenko suffered the accident while climbing the scaffolding during a concert that broke his neck. He recovered, but the band disbanded and he continued as the lead for a new Steelheart in the Asian scene all the way up to 2015.
Actually just released a new album thos year.
He put out a new song last year I think, and he can still hit those notes!

35 million views.... about half of those were mine!
They came out when Hair Metal was waning and giving way to Grunge. Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains. The Seattle Sound.
One of a kind vocalist. You should listen to "She's Gone" by them as well.
Oh yay!! His vocals are friggin awesome.
Check out We All Die Young,
Try She’s Gone by Steelheart😮❤ he is still singing today

Love the new member/composer.....🤟💯💯💯💯.
I heard this song on the radio in 1991 during my first year of university and it took me into the next year to find the cd.
Thank you much for your journey into rock genre
I think the on stage accident happened when they were really on their way up and it derailed their opportunity to go real big. His lead vocals were untouchable before the accident

Hope you got to react to the original video of their “She’s Gone”!! Fantastic too🥰🎶
Excellent song!!
The lead singer was Miljenko Matijevic ; listen to his solo work, Hallelujah
Watch the movie Rockstar, with Mark Walberg. The actual lead singer in all of the songs is the lead singer of steelhart. Also all of the band musicians are famous rock musicians from various bands.
Miljenko Matijevic (Croatian-American) has 5 octave range alog with Bach (Skid Row). Listen to can't stop me lovin' you
I suggest looking up the other Steelheart videos.....his recorded vocals were well before autotune...........this is pure God given talentà
LOL We'll turn you into a Gen X headbanger yet! :) Keep up the good work!
Lake Powell, Utah/Arizona border. Been there. It's spectacular.

My favorite from Steel heart is a song called Shelia, if you give it a listen be sure to have some tequila on hand, and crank it up all the way.
Hrs still alive and still performing live
"He has a really good voice." LoL Obvious statement is obvious. Loved your enjoyment throughout the video.
And that's a fact .look it up✌️😁
steelheart just finished european tour... lead singer is from croatia.....
The stage accident was during a concert of 13,000

Given what he went through, Milli worked his ass off to get where he is now and he sounds great. I still get goosebumps from this song.
So far, after scanning the comments, I didn’t see anything about him doing all of the singing for mark walberg in “rockstar”
And he can belt out flawless lyrics live as well. Mili = best!
The best singer in hair metal!
Check out Tesla "Love Song"
Another one "She's Gone"......from SteelHeart...
They were big in the United States but in the Asian countries they are HUGE
I busted speakers with this one
