  • Hi everyone!
    As I said before, I would keep you in the loop and film the process of me coming off of fentanyl. Well, this past few months has been a rollercoaster to say the least! I feel slightly more stable now but I’m still finding it incredibly difficult and especially as I had planned to be but life doesn’t always go as planned. I feel confident I will get there in time though.
    Thank you so, so much for watching! It means more than you know 💕💕

    I didn’t know someone could look so beautiful going through Fentanyl w/d!! 😊😊 I wish there was a magical word to help but there isn’t. You honestly just have to embrace the suck each and every day and understand that the higher we fly the harder we fall so to speak but it does get better each and every day your fighting. Your best friend is TIME just don’t give up even if u have some bumps to overcome!! I was a addict for 10 years and I’m coming up on 3 years sober. It’s so possible if u really want it!! I hope u reach your goal sooner then later but the more u try keeps it all possible in time.

      We get it here it’s under a different name buprenorphine/ it used to be able to be abused but it has a point where you can’t take any more there’s a ceiling where the affects stop so it can’t be abused . It’s an alternative to methadone x

    • @Teenywing
      @Teenywing 5 месяцев назад

      These kind of sweeping, generalized comments aren’t helpful. Suboxone is a vital tool for millions of people. Just because your care provider didn’t know how to prescribe it doesn’t mean that everyone shouldn’t try it. Spending a couple months on suboxone to **easily** come off off extreme opiates is a lot better and a BREEZE compared to cold turkey. I’m sorry you had a doctor that didn’t know what they were doing but for many it’s a godsend.

    Brave, so brave. Any person who can beat Mme Morphine dessrves praise and support. Im 20 yrs in, every day is a delicate balancing act, measuring, cutting pills in quarters and keeping the habit under control, always aware the pain is still there, worrying about the future pain control without opiates. Once the dr thinks you're addicted, they cut u off cold, and in the streets we go, it is cruel. Your NHS sounds fab. Are u clean now?

    • @amieelizaa
      @amieelizaa  Год назад +1

      Thank you for your lovely words. I can totally understand how you feel. It’s so frustrating and so difficult to manage when there’s pain involved alongside the addiction. The NHS is amazing, just so overrun and understaffed so there’s a lot more that can be done and the waiting lists can be awful. But I would take that any day over ridiculous medical bills you’d see elsewhere in the world. I’m still (very slowly) decreasing as I hit a bit of a bump in the road. So I’m on half the amount I started on but the pain is really causing me a lot of problems atm. Hoping my physio can help me get that back on track so I can drop again 🤞🏼

    Proud of you ♥️ slow and steady wins the race ! Any reduction is a step in the right direction. I’ve started going down in my suboxone and it’s been hard some days I would end up taking more than I was before the reduction. It’s really hard. Now I’m trying to commit to the lowered dose. Fentanyl does have a weird half life because of the lipophilic nature. You can see yours dilated in the video of you feeling like shit. Do you have any support meds ? You need some clonidine, gabapentin, robaxin and Ativan to sleep.
    Also- about the morphine. It is still an improvement over the fentanyl for many reasons as you known. The accountability w the new dr will be a good thing overall definitely. Just keep telling yourself you can do this ! I believe in you. Have you tried CBD for the pain? It can’t hurt ♥️

      Thank you so much for your kind words! Life doesn’t always go as you’d hope but I feel as though I’m going in the right direction after taking a few wrong turns 😂 anything to help me sleep makes me feel so awful and I can’t drive on it. I was on Gabapentin for a bit before and it’s awful for me, made so so unwell! Morphine helps me get some rest though so I’m thankful for that. Yeah I tried CBD but it didn’t do an awful lot really. I then tried cannabis oil which was incredibly strong and the anxiety I experienced was horrific. I had the worst panic attack ever, so I have a bit of a fear of going back there. You’re really so kind, thank you so so much 💕

      I’m not sure if we have that here in the UK. I tried cyclizine and that made so dizzy that I ended up being sick so that’s great 😂😂

    • @L._._
      @L._._ 2 года назад

      @@amieelizaa hmm cyclazine is something different for sure ! Gaba doesn’t help everyone sadly :( I don’t like it either but it helps ppl detoxing at my work it seems (a rehab). If you were able to fully transition onto morphine you could do a suboxone taper too. Clonidine can help but it lowers blood pressure so will make you dizzy unless you’re really in bad withdrawal or anxiety with elevated Bp. I feel there has to be something else your dr cbs prescribe to help a tiny bit that’s not an opioid.

    If Amie thinks it’s tough coming off a 50 milligram Fentanyl patch, she should consider what I would need to go through coming off my 100 microgram Fentanyl patch. They would happily leave me on it for the rest of my life but I want to be drug free and have children etc. so it was all my decision. Plus as we have the NHS here, there’s no such thing a ‘doctor shopping’ in the UK, as it’s all free and you can only go to your local doctor. I mean this in the kindest way, you really need to seek professional help for the way you’re feeling. I understand as someone going through the same thing but you need to deal with those inner demons. I hope you get the help you need
