  • This is my addition and sobriety story, my journey through substance addiction and recovery. In this video, you will witness me speak about my alcohol abuse, substance abuse, my relationship with yoga, and how yoga intertwined itself into my life, planting a seed in me, that would have ultimately led me back to the mat. As a functional addict, my life would flow up and down, and towards the end of my addiction, I was disintegrating really quickly, which led to an overdose, that in the end would propel me to surrender to sobriety, and where I eventually met myself and also got back onto the mat.
I hope this helps anyone who is getting sober or struggling with any form of substance abuse. Comment below your thoughts, and thank you for watching!

Good for you homegirl. I have 11 years free and clear of c&d after 19 years of "partying" way too much and losing my sense of self. Yoga has been a major component in my recovery and has assisted substantially in grounding me and bringing me back to the real world. Your honesty is needed and refreshing. Stay beautiful, strong and grateful my friend.

I never had addiction but still I want to share something.
about 5 years ago I start to had panic attacks, I wasn’t able to manage it and suddenly took completely control of my life.
I remember once I really thought that I had forgotten how to breathe and I was sure that I was about to die.
and then after a late night panic attack I started looking on you tube for something that would help me...so I found you.
practicing with you I started to feel better again
I just wanted to thank you 🙏

I've been through a lot of darkness & pain in my life physically, mentally, emotionally. I've known for a few months now that part of my "final" healing has to do with reestablishing connection with my body. I just happened to decide it was time to follow a yoga video instead of just doing a few exercises I remembered from the last time I picked out a video, and then I found this. I've had a bad weekend and your story really got me in my feels. We're in the same age group, which makes your story even more relatable for me. I'm still trying to get myself together but I feel like I saw this for a reason, right now, today. I've always felt soothed and comforted by your energy before on the TX channel and here again. Thank you for all that you do. ♥

I thought I was done with addiction when I gave up smoking after 40 years in 2015. Alas, I soon found out that the urge to overeat had been there even before that. Took me years to realise that no change of eating habits will help in the long term, it is only self-love which will help me to take decisions about food that truly nourish me. Without yoga I wouldn‘t have discovered any of this. Thank you for sharing and sharing your lovely yoga practice.
