When he is really loving the shower, my Amazon parrot opens his wings, fluffs his feathers, turns upside down, and makes a lot of noise. When he is contentedly relaxing in the shower, he keeps his wings closed , fluffs his feathers, stays the right way up, and murmurs to himself with his eyes half closed. If he didn’t want to get wet he’d squeeze his feathers and look angry.
I learned that when they fluff up their feathers they like it and they’re having a good time and they need to feel safe cause they’re vulnerable at that time and when they lean into the water 💦 they’re enjoying their shower. Great video Smokey really is a sweetheart! Remington didn’t like showers till I took him in with me. He can go in and out of shower on his perch. He likes to sit under shower and let it beat down on him. He too looks so relaxed.
My grey loves to make cat sounds and likes to bark like my little dog too. If he doesn't see some one he likes to whistle and say "aww" "hi" "largo" until i come say hello xD largo is his name btw. He also will only shower in hi cage and with a water bottle. My conure on the other hand only likes to bathe in a bowl lol
My grey is the laziest bird you’ve ever met. It’s during bath time that she finally becomes big and animated, though she prefers still water over a shower. What are signs she’s enjoying it? Well, the fact that she keeps voluntarily splashing herself and flapping to catch the droplets, I guess. :P

hii, i have a question, i just brought home a cockatiel yesterday, a baby of maybe two or three months. can i have some tips of training for his biting. i want him to be gentle and i want to start training soon. his biting isn’t hard i can bare but i do have a 6 year old brother that really likes Charles (my bird) and i really want to have a good bond with Charles. I really appreciate any help and btw Smokey is the cutest!
I have a 18+ year old congo I just adopted and he's a super sweet bird, but I'm confused if I should be giving him a bath in the middle of winter (Indiana)? Greyson is my 2nd ccongo grey as I lost Tookie a couple of years ago when I woke up and found him passed away in his cage. Greyson is inside obviously and I do keep the apartment around 72-73°. He will take a bath in his water dish ( he gets his feet wet heheh), but I like to give him a good bath with a pump up mister I have. Advise would sure be appreciated.

He's had nothing but treats and patience from us however he could've been forced or any number of things in his previous home or even the breeder. My question is do i allow him to bite me(not pull my hand away and give him the reaction he wants and only give a reaction when it hurts, he does this only on/in his cage or if we touch his toys, my partner seems to think he is trying see if we will hurt him back in retaliation and that he needs to learn that our hands are not to be feared. He knows his bite force as he has been gentle tasting and nibbling before, We DO NOT force him, chase him around and only ask for step ups with treats as a reward. How should we handle this behaviour? I can provide a video if it helps 🙏

My African Grey calls for me when I leave the room. BUT...unfortunately he decided to change his call to the fire alarm after mine went off. Nikola has now been doing this for 7 months!!!!!! I tried rewarding positive behavior and ignoring negative, but he still does it. And now he just does it a lot at night (it went off at night). I ignore the behavior to not reinforced it, but that is not working. His cage is in the living room area, so he gets lots of attention. Nikola has a few more behaviors I need help changing. Please email me so I can go into more detail. I trust your help.
