Hey guys! Its been a busy day but we spent all day driving the redesigned 2025 Subaru Forester today and we managed to snag 4 out of the 5 trim levels together to talk about what features come with each trim and with full detailed pricing! Expect our full review with driving impressions to post on 5/6 at 9am EST so be sure to set your reminders to come back on that day! Which Forester trim level would you choose for yourself?
Can't wait, Sofyan 😊
Which trim level did you NOT snag?
EDIT: The Base model was not included.
🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤
Touring all day long, but at least you get the 2.5L engine, we only get the poor 2.0L engine that the Crosstrek has in UK/EU, which is poor for the size of this vehicle.
Why won’t Subaru allow test drives until May 6th? Is that normal?
Wow, gorgeous day. Look at those mountains in the background
😂😂
What in the ford explorer front end???
I was thinking the Edge at first 🤣
You act like manufacturers don't borrow design styles
Looks like Pick-up truck front end, an the unfortunate current rage for SUVs. Don't like it or that flat level hood.
No sweat though, wasn't going to buy it anyway.
Great filming. I like how you used the telephoto focal lengths instead of the wide angle focal lengths. Looks more natural this way
I love the Premium Red exterior with Black interior looks cool 😎. Awesome Video Keep Up the Amazing Work 😎🇺🇲
Love the review thanks! Helped me put to rest what car I'm buying. 25 Forrester Touring. Looks great! Not a fan of the bronze on the sport tho.
Thank you. Your presentation was informative. Just ordered a Touring Forrester. Got the green. Delivery expected late June or early July. Thought about the bronze, but the car was less visible as the bronze blends in with surroundings and may not be seen as easily by other drivers.
I helped my mom buy her Premium Forester back in 2020 for $25k. Its wild how much new car prices have inflated in four years to be $5-6k more for nearly the same car 💀
Bidenflation
Greed-flation
@@LucidDreamer54321it was like that before but hey, some people like to just talk to talk. Good for you
@@LucidDreamer54321Biden didn’t have anything to do with it.
@yankeesusa1 Highest inflation rate in 40 years under President Biden. You are not fooling anyone - except perhaps yourself.
The front looks like a 2013 explorer.
And the 2013 Explorer still looked better
I'm going to be honest. I was planning on shopping for a new car this winter. The forester was on the list. Either the base with some features to avoid that terrible infotainment or a wilderness. I saw all of these and threw up in my mouth a little. This is for sure off the list.
I thought the same exact thing
I'm hoping Subaru don't follow those design lines down the road with the Outback and Cross Trek.
For some reason I'm getting previous gen Ford Explorer vibes from the front end....
I love my 16 XT! I’ll never get a Subaru until they bring it back
Unbelievable. Another generation of Forester without the Turbo engine. For many people the Forester is seriously underpowered. The "Sport" Trim without the Turbo is just moronic. I don't know what Subaru is thinking? They used to offer the Turbo. Aren't more choices better?
Subaru’s weak engine led me to Mazda.
Never buy a turbo.
Wow 40k for touring. My 19 limited ascent was 40. Hopefully prices come down. All car prices are getting ridiculous.
23 Ascent Touring was just a hair under 51k
How do you like the Ascent?
@@sennis1361 I’m liking it a lot, first time Subaru buyer. The ride quality is great and it’s very practical. My mpg is not where it should due to lead footed drivers during a road trip the day after I got it but I tested it on a ride to family home and it got up a little over 28 mpg highway driving
Even in 2025 models below Limited trim, they can’t stretch to LED bulbs on turn signals??
This is the Birkenstocks of cars. Kind of odd looking but very functional. I'm going to see a lot of these in downtown Toronto soon.
This is the sort of comment I like to see 👏👏
Great review! I think we’ll pass our 2019 Touring down to my son and get a 2025 Touring. I don’t think you mentioned the “improved” quietness of the cabin in this video, but the desire for that combined with our problem-free experience with our current one will seal the deal.
We can’t talk about how it drives until the embargo lifts on 5/6 at 9am EST! Come back then and we’ll have another detailed video on the Touring trim posting then!
If you want a Ford Edge made in Japan...
Yeah, it's a mix of a ford edge and Chevy equinox
Agreed. I'm glad I went ahead and bought my 2024 Forester Wilderness.
At least you have real awd and better reliability.
Damn that touring is def the most used cuz that one is DIRTYYYYY
don't care for the front end, but i am curious to see the hybrid MPG @ If Subaru actually incorporates a E-CVT unlike the crosstrek which was a halfbaked effort. really disappointed that the 360 camera wasn't offered as an option for all trims
Touring! Thanks Sofyan!
Looks like the explorer in the front
Great video, I look forward to your driving impressions. The Sport trim looks like the trim for me. Also, I like the design, it’s looks more mature than previous designs. A thumbs up from me.
Do you have the specs for the approach, break over and departure angle?
Touring! Thanks Sofyan!) Love it)
Subaru needs to step their game up with more power and better styling. They need to replace the 2.5L NA engine with a 2.0L turbo across the lineup and change the exterior and interior design. This car, even with the "redesign", is old - it has the same engine and styling as two generations ago, which debuted in 2014. The CRV and RAV4 are far ahead of the Forester.
Have a 22 Forester Wilderness and have been screaming about the engine forever. Extremely adequate but come on another twenty five horsepower and now we’re moving. Another fifty now you feel excited. It’s a great vehicle but Subaru cuts corners and calls it safety and reliability. Put the Rav 4 hybrid engine since Toyota owns part of Subaru. Engine is efficient and more horsepower.
A turbo will burn up the engine so don't keep for more than 65km
First, they took away the CD player for 24 with the $600 increase and now the rear seats no longer recline 🤦🏽🤷🏽♂️🤔 I still love it❤️🔥🔥🥰🌹
Great preview but how come you didn’t show the tail end? Wanted to see if they finally got rid of the crab claw lights 😂
They did..gone.
@@danielmenard3492Really? Can you please send the time stamp for the video above? I wanna see you get the new tail end is like.

4:43 Mazda cx-5 carbon edition with leather, Bose, heated seats, blind spot monitoring is 33k with additional 0% interest rate , I see a huge savings !
I have a tundra on order but currently driving 2022 forester wilderness and it’s awesome.
What’s your gas mileage been? Curious.
I’m happy to see the Sport trim dropped the factory rice red accents. But yeah definite Ford vibes at the front, still don’t like the giant portrait orientation screen and the lack of a hybrid is getting ridiculous now.
Maybe I missed it but was the back side shown? I was hoping for a full walk around
Fully redesigned subaru "Equinox" from front "Sportage" From Rear 😅
was expecting HUD and full digital gauges for the touring
Thanks for your information.
Less noise with low roof rails compared to raised?
still no 1 push rear windows ? totally forgot about that annoyance on my ex 2015 wrx sti thx wanted to see autumn green 2025
Wish they kept the raised roof rails on the Sport. The low profile rails make it very difficult to add bars and racks for kayaks.
Nice breakdown of each trim! I wish dealerships would do this. Not interested in Subaru Forrester but appreciate the detailed walkthrough
Why would they put lower roof racks on the touring as opposed to the Sport?
The frontal facia is specifically looking like the 4th Generation of the 2011-2015 Explorer. Which is a tiny bit controversial to me, but still looking attractive for a Subaru.
Does it have latest generation eyesight cameras?
Will the foresters have a rear view mirror that blocks the high beams at night
I had three Foresters but once the Turbo went away and only the 2.5 engine remained, I regretfully gave up on it. I've driven both 2.5 and 2.4 Turbo Outbacks and the 2.4 simply walks away with things, getting nearly the same gas mileage (provided you have a light foot) but will handle any expressway or mountain situation without complaint. Hopefully the Forester Hybrid, a year or so away, will offer the missing piece torards returning to Forester. Bigger wheels on sport and touring are not encouraging.
Turbo charged engine cause more wear and tear!
Looks great. Solid price for a premium with nice creature comforts. This car will sell well.
Retired to Montana ... love it and my non-turbo Forester on Inter State at 80MPH..... this is number 4 and NEVER a problem !!!! I am 6'3" at 290.... get in and out with no problem... The only reason to get the Touring is for the brown interior with green paint .... sorta a British racing green ... otherwise it the Limited with options like heated steering wheel which is really really nice on cold weather.
Do they all have black headliners now?
Thanks for reviewing the new Forester trims Sofyan, but unfortunately they look like a 2012 Ford Explorer, and jeeze that front overhang is huge, I hope Subaru has an optional skid plate.
Not going along with "Fully redesigned" as the powertrain is a complete carryover with the 2.5NA and the CVT.
It will always have a CVT because of epa regulations.. get over it
Exactly. Fully redesigned but powertrain and interior are exactly the same as outgoing Forester.
On paper, the engine and transmission sound like a carry over, but Subaru assured us the engine got some extensive changes to the internals and they have reprogrammed the torque curve so it makes more low end power and its achieved at a much lower RPM. The CVT is also an updated version of the transmission from the Wilderness trim.
Please , it is not enough.
They need to take 8speed from Toyota and add solid engines on top @@theredline
@@truckercowboyed2638BS!
It is there only because Subbie loves the savings that they keep to themselves and not passed on to the consumers.
They have solid 8speed ATX from Toyota but it costs more than cheap ass CVT .
2014 outlander wants its look back
I like them raised , my outback had it
Would you recommend buying the 2021 forester?
You didnt show the rear/back of the cars
I was scrolling through and thought he was reviewing a Ford. 😂
Thought they were Ford until I read the Title of this vid. Lol
GD I'm moving to Montana. Absolutely gorgeous out there.
Except for nasty winters.
@@chuckwalla2967 Come on ... I have lived in Montana for 19 years (retired here) and I have received the same winters in states like Wisconsin and Minnesota. Actually I had a 4 foot snow in Wisconsin.
Whats up with not showing the rear of the vehicle?
We filmed this in one take and only had about 30 mins to shoot this video.
5 more seconds of footage to see the back😢
It’s okay. Subaru isn’t ever been known for their beautiful automotive design. I’ve owned many Acuras and a Volvo, but my wife recently really wanted an Outback. It’s been a great car so far. I’ve been thinking about what my next car will be, and I’ve liked the Forester. I love that they added the cool seats. The only issue I have with the Forester is not having the optional turbo anymore. I would hope the hybrid trim coming out will add some power but I won’t hold my breath. I’d cross shop this against the Outback, Legacy (which is going away), Acura RDX and Integra. The forester seems like it’s a sweet spot of offering lots of luxury items, not requiring premium but that engine is nothing to strive for to drive.
The lack of a Wilderness trim makes me think they're putting the turbo in that one as they do with the Outback.
@@VanderJam That… or it’s taking extra time to develop the skid plates, lift, extra off road camera and other stuff that comes with it. I seriously doubt Subaru is going to have three engines in the Forester.
Anyone else getting Ford vibes from the front end?
Sport for me!
I like these new ones a lot. This might be my next car
Surprisingly no test drive reviews with a pending delivery date about one month away. Why the hold back?
Drive impression embargos until 5/6.
I'd get the base trim.
The pricing is still very competitive in this segment for the equipment at each trim level, definitely still better value than the Honda CRV and Toyota RAV4. But the design is very controversial
I live in Alaska. I'd like to see the Wilderness Trim package with a bigger engine.
I'll just wait for the Hybrid versions!....
As soon as we had seen the 2025 Forester, we immediately had ordered a 2024 previous generation. Took delivery this past February. Couldn't be happier.
Same, this redesign isn't received well by Subaru fans!😅
The current gen looks better on the outside but the inside looks better on the new one.
What about the wilderness and hybrid versions?
hybrid just a rumor rn
Test drive soon? Wondering if it is really much quieter than the outgoing Forester.
Our full review will post on 5/6 at 9am EST. Driving impressions are under embargo until then.
@theredline Understood. Thanks and looking forward to 5/6.
Does it have a trunk or a rear?? He completely ignored rear cargo and rear design...
I have a power lift.
At least the base trim looks different from the rest of the lineup
I wonder where the Hybrid version will fit into this lineup… when it comes.
It's about time they put a birds eye view on the forrester! Better late than never. It should also be on the new outback, if they are not too lazy to incorporate it. Us baby boomers, who grew up with our Subarus, can use that help. I was very disappointed last year and started looking elsewhere . They have my attention again.
im going to wait for the Wilderness and choose between that or the touring.
The touring model's racks are to low for carrying anything/ off-roadimg
I've owned a bunch of Subaru and currently have an OB. They've lost their way. No memory seats in a 38k vehicle, but heated wheel.
Ok so I'm not the only one who thinks Subaru is starting to look like Ford
Possible to have the sport model w/o bronze wheels?
Not from the factory, but wheels are always an easy change!
I like the look and seat material of the Sport level.
Not the common response to its looks - but I truly do love it - it’s so much bolder and serious / tough looking - granted the old look was a bit more playful and quirky and fun and I like that still as well - I’m just a fan of the direction Suub took with the design….
Have they improved the camera quality though?
Nice improvement over the previous generation
Glad I got one before they put that new infotainment screen in the Forester. I prefer a nice mix of touchscreen and hard buttons/dials. I had a chance to use this big screen in an Outback loaner and absolutely hated it. Agree with all these guys joking it looks like a Ford; it does. I'll stick with my 2022 Wilderness.
Well, because people were whining about the more aggressive look so they softened it but probably a bit too much.
holy? they removed rear seat recline stripe??? I may need a 2024 one then,,,
It's hard to see, but I think I saw it in the Premium as they went into the back door it's just visible. Also have seen a seats folded walk around, and it definitely has the reclining slide slot where the latch is. The early videos with pre-production models I could see not including the tether, but those two things lead me to believe most are seeing pre-prod ones.
Bring Forester XT back! Lol i like the sport trim, looks cool but cant wait for the Wilderness
I drove a couple of new subies at the dealership. They all felt and sounded like the Subarus i owned in the 1970s & 80s. It's like they are 40 years behind in technology. I really wanted to like them; but that engine noise and CVT made them sound unrefined. Poor gas mileage also proves that. This is 2024 not 1984.
They look okay but I prefer the styling of last generation.
Our 2016 Forester limted we bought new has treated us well. I like this new one but hoping i can get 10 more years with it.
That doesn't look black interior in the premium
Not sure if I missed it but has there been any mention of a wilderness edition yet?
Don't like the front, looks like a Ford Edge. And the door sounds very "hollow" and not solid at all. I have a 2021 Forester Touring and paid $36k and now its $39k, probably going to be keeping mine for a little longer. Also not a fan of that large touchscreen. I had a loaner of the Crosstrek with that larger screen and its super laggy and slow.
they use the same engine from 2005 while all the competitors went hybrid , turbocharged or both
Black Forester parked on the roadside, I slow down.
Finally some colorful interiors! Every carmaker needs to start offering more colors on their interiors. For this new Forester, I truly hope Subaru has updated their dreadful Starlink infotainment system. If it's as bad as their older versions, it is reason enough not to buy this car. Then there is the exterior styling which is so generic and bland it's insulting.
CR-V vs Forrester ?
I'm glad I just got my 24 Cascade Green 🌲
Not a huge fan of the 25s, but these will sell a lot because of the more mainstream look.
Does it require premium fuel?
no
Increased price but couldn't throw in reclining rear seats, bummer.
What about the Wilderness? Have they discontinued the Wilderness?
