See them live, and you'll be taken on the ride of your life! They literally tore a hole in the simulation; it was beautiful and terrifying all at once. It's a religious experience more than anything.
I tell you some things about this song: The song's title can be found in the Mesogothic Anglo-Saxon glossary as "In-Maidjan", which means "deceptively change" or "corrupt". This makes sense since the entire story within the album consists of a peaceful village that is corrupted by having to go to war. Therefore, Proto-Germanic seems to be the language. Harigasti Teiwa Harigasti Teiwa "is a clear Germanic reference to the Negau helmet. This helmet contains several Etruscan alphabet inscriptions that include the words" Harigasti teiwa which are the first words of the song. This could be translated as Harigast (the priest) although it could also mean, the priest of Teiwaz (Tyr). "Harigast" is often (not always) seen as a personal name and that it could be made up of the words "harjaz" (army, troop, warband, war) and gastiz (stranger, guest). The forms "Hari" and "gast" is particularly found in west-germanic. As such the name could mean "war guest" or "foreign army". Tawol Athodu - I accept the invitation. Ek Erilaz - I am a runemaster. The word has been interpreted to mean magician or runemaster. The word is an ablaut variant of count and it is believed that it could be linguistically related to the name of the tribe of the Heruli or Herulos. The Heruli were a Germanic tribe from Scandinavia that was invaded by the Roman Empire in the 3rd century. So it is probably simply an old military title of Germanic provenance. Owlthuthewaz - owlthu (glorious) thewaz (servant). Means servant of the glorious Niwaremariz - Priest of the god "Ullr" / famous, renowned. From the proto-Germanic term Wulþuz (glory) wolþu- is possibly a reference to a God, surely the God Ullr. Saawilagar Hateka - My name is Sawilagaz. Harja - Army - leader of the army; commander; Warrior Wuotani Ruoperath Wuotani - Oh, Wodan! Ruoperath - famous and brilliant. This could be interpreted as the following: I, Priest Harigast. Aaccept the invitation (to battle) I am the Heruli. I am a renowned priest of Ullr. They call me Warrior. Oh, Wodan the famous and brilliant! The next chant are the names of the 24 Norse runes of the Elder Futhark. This is also known as runic song. Fehu, Uruz, Thurisaz, Ansuz, Raidho, Kenaz, Gebo, Wunjo, Hagal, Naudhiz, Isa, Jera, Eihwaz, Perthro, Algiz, Sowelu, Tiwaz, Berkano, Ehwaz, Mannaz, Laguz, Ingwaz, Dagaz, Othala. In English: Wealth, Aurochs, Thorn, Divine Breath, Travel, Torch, Gift, Joy, Hail, Need, Ice, Harvest, Tree, Luck, Elk, Sun, Creator, Birch tree, Horse, Man, Water, Fertility, Day, Home. Odin, prepare for battle! A hug.

This group is so badass...harkens back to a time when stories were told through song, dance, and the sharing of food. There's a bit of a "disconnect" in that, just as it is with my own Native American ancestry and song, very little of it had anything to do with "war." It's simply story-telling that was done long before the written word. Many differences were settled by a "sit-down" over food and song...many a war was started that way as well. (Lol, I guess now I understand why I took "Pre-Medieval History" in college decades ago)
this song is about war. in fact he is talking about accepting his opponants invatation to battle. he calls on odins power to help him and he says he of his people the heruli. the language is called eldar futhark i think. which is old norse. and if u know anything about the norce(vikings) they were all about war. in fact all men wanted to die on the battlefield and not as a old man in bed. most of the words i can pick out in all of their songs has something to do with war

The instrument is called a "ravanahatha" btw. It's an Indian instrument believed to be the oldest kind of bow-played string instrument in the world. This one was made for Maria by an authentic Indian artisan and at the time of this concert was strung with his daughter's own hair. (It's since been replaced with horsehair)
I'm 100 percent here for more Heilung. Any artist who can get you guys vibing like crazy without even looking at the screen is an automatic banger. And I am 1000 percent here for Smokey describing the viking chants as the first battle raps. In all honesty... it's not far off. The old Scandinavians practiced a few different types of magick, and one of them was known as "galdr." It was done by chanting one word, a few words, or even single letters in their alphabet. Even then, they were free to switch up the pronunciation as the spirit moved them. If it sounds similar to a person speaking in tongues, that's also not far off the mark. These days the only example of a galdr chant that non-history buffs are familiar with is the giant from Jack and the Beanstalk saying "fee, fi, fo, fum." Hope this was informative and I hope to see more Heilung in the future! "Alfadirhaiti" is my personal favorite 🤘😎🤘
I personally find her voice and truly the group as a whole, captivating and mesmerizing! Which I'm sure is what they wanna hear & could be going for but, ain't this like the ultimate hype music?! 🤘🏼💙🤘🏼
I love the harmonies of heilung, seen em live and it felt like coming home after a long journey. I remember your last reaction, don't leave it so long Othan is my personal av from lifa :)
You want your mind blown, watch "Kulning ancient herding" calls by Jonna Jinton. Female Norse vocals that make the cows come home. If you want goosebumps.... heh.
I was at that show. Best Heilung show I’ve seen. The Energy was incredible and the audience seemed full of Pagans, Witches, Shamans, Voudoun, and new age spirituals. The energy was fantastic . My last show before Covid was The 69 Eyes (from Finland).
Can't wait to see the Jonas interview. Heilung are so 🔥 Hope it's not 13 months until the next one. A band that use no electronic instruments (outside the microphone) is so unique. Love them 🤟
So glad you are exploring Heiling! Try just laying down in the dark, breathing. . .and take an hour or so to listen to this. I have put myself into a trance like that. Have you ever listened to anything Ravi Shankar has done?
Awesome reaction my friends!!! By the way, Spike Dudley‘s finishing move was nicknamed the acid drop. He used to wave his hands in front of his face like he was tripping. Keep up the awesome work guys, I just love your channel so much. It makes my day.
I saw them in Glasgow. It's very theatrical they bring out incense to clear the room of bad energy and it's like going back in time. They are great live and generally do small venues do not to.lose the connection with audiance . You get to howl too lol
Please do more! I cannot wait for you to review one of the videos from their recent album where she has the lead: Norupo or Anoana. The images in their videos are amazing.
This definetly talks to the primal essence. Ive always felt more at home with my pagan roots here in Sweden. I feel like my church is a group of Fagus sylvatica trees in a set pattern the energy flowing through that makes me forget the world around. I believe there are lines that we no longer cant feel like we used to and the music Heilung bring forth are like a missing page of our memory. I wish you would try react to Kvitravn by Wardruna and maybe you would understand :)
Spike Dudley's finisher was the Acid Drop. Thank you for reacting to one of my favourite artists. This is Maria's other band Euzen, which is completely different to Heilung ruclips.net/video/8SV7raoFtO0/видео.html
@20:12 it's funny Hollywood says he hates to bring drugs into this when he started the video asking Smokey what Spike Dudley's finishing move was (by the way...it was called the Acid Drop, which made the tye-dye shirts make a lot of sense). Also... fun fact... in ECW his full name was actually Little Spike Dudley, which (on top of emphasizing that he was the runt of the litter with Dudley siblings numbering 9) meant his initials were LSD. 😂🤣😂🤣
My friend was driving the car in summer, windows down with In Maidjan cranking and i was shrooming my ass off. That part with Maria's vocals i felt like I was flying. it was incredible.
First time I took DMT I listened to Dead Can Dance's songs Dawn of the Iconoclast and Summoning of the Muse and finished the session with Tengger Cavalry - Universe-Shaman and it was beautiful :)
"SHE AINT EVEN WEARIN SHOES" I dont know why, but that made me literally laugh out loud haha More Heilung boys, I suggest Othan. Fun fact about that song: A sacred number to the norse is the number 9 and each measure in that song is 9 beats ;)
Most people don't know that about the number nine being sacred. It's reason for being sacred to the Norse is the Nine worlds connected by Yggdrasil (translated to mean Yggr's gallows in reference to Odin's sacrifice of himself to himself)
The high notes Maria does is called "Kulning/Kulokk/Lalning", it is how Scandinavian herding women called in their cows from the high pastures for milking. When a call is made in a valley, it rings and echoes against the mountains. The animals, a number of whom wear bells tuned so that the livestock's location can be heard, begin to respond to the call, answering back and the sound of the bells indicates that they are moving down the mountain towards their home farm. The kulokks can belong to an individual, but are sometimes family-based and are handed down so that a family's cows know they are being called and thus respond. A number of calls contain names of individual (sometimes the "lead") animals, as herds are not very large. There is a really beautiful Swedish woman called Joana Jinton that has videos of her doing it.
If you guys wanna take in an hour show of it, watch the entire Lifa live performance that these videos are from, the whole this is amazing from start to finish. It's like watching an ancient ritual. Alfadhirhaiti is probably my favorite of their songs, it's mostly names of the all-father, and my malamute I rescued was named Odin so I listen to it almost every time I take him for a walk haha.
Hey friends! The Vikings would also do "Flightings" where they would throw insults at each other and try to out-insult each other. Probably the same thing you're referring to in this video. :D So glad you discovered these lovely people!
24:40 My brain doesn’t shut down at night; so sleeping doesn’t come easy for me. I make playlists on YT that I’ll listen to at night in an attempt to sleep. I have one with Heilung. If I want to get motivated during the day, I’ll listen to it. I tried to use it at night once…never again. There’s some freaking scary stuff going on in my head. It ramped my brain up so bad, it caused all the ptsd issues I thought I had dealt with to show up on steroids.
I am so so sorry that happened to you :(, as someone who also has difficulty sleeping at night, may I suggest the following songs to help with sleep 1: Julie Fowlis - song of the seal 2: Ashley Serana - song of the sea 3: song of the sirens ( sorry I’m not sure the name of the vocalist) 4: Ice Kitsune- Derek Fiechter 5: Eruyt Village- Hitoshi Sakamoto 6: Eruyt Village- Benyamin Nuss 7: Isil Elun’falo ( night elf Kaldor)- Sharm 8: Siren song - Sharm 9: song to the siren - Eurille 10: Whispers- Eurille 11: Moonsong ( instrumental)- Adrian von Ziegler ( absolutely fantastic for helping with sleep in my personal opinion) 12: Mir Da’len Somniar - elf lullaby from Dragon age 13: Scent of night ( vocal cover or the instrumental is fantastic but both are rather dark so not if your in a very low mood unless your like me lol) - cant remember the name of the composer, my apologies 14: The Spirit Song - A Nordic Lullaby- by Jonna Jinton. I hope that these are of use to you & wish you all of the best 😊🙏
Maria Franz is such a great singer, love the band! Talking about trance! When I watched the full concert LIFA for the first time I was just exhausted and happy and crying, everything. So intense, absolutely insane.
I’ve only recently come across your channel and you guys rock! Watching you discover Tool has been an absolute joy and I’m spending waaaayyyy too much time trawling through all your earlier reaction videos. I’d like to suggest a band for you to react to, if I may. I don’t know if you’ve heard of Twelve Foot Ninja. They’re a local Aussie group out of Melbourne They rock hard but really don’t take themselves too seriously. Their videos are, shall we say, something that really need to be experienced. A few of my favourites are “One Hand Killing”, “Coming For You”, “Sick” and “Start The Fire”. Thank you so much guys for all the videos you put out, love your work, never change!
That feeling you get after listening to this type of music. Is your ancestral blood pumping through ya. Deep down your soul is trying to rip itself out to show your wild primitive side. Just remember a few hundred years ago or a few thousand years ago we were still hunters and gatherers. And in some countries or cultures we still are 👍👍.
To answer your questions: the reason the music vibrates so well is with repetition at the proper rhythm, it triggers alpha waves. Secondly, they label themselves as Amplified History.
Love Yall!! Heilung is Fantastic! 14m54s in, iffin Yall Lovin Maria, ive suggested, but I say Again, her other band Euzen Metomorph album/song OMG!! Such Greatness!
You may not ever see this comment, and I doubt many people would ever vote for this - but I'd like to see you guys react to NEVERMORE. They are a Metal band, that are no longer together, and their lead singer Warrel Dane, died December 13, 2017 (age 56). He was part of a band called "Sanctuary", then in Nevermore until 2007. Warrel Dane trained in Opera for around 5 years, and had an amazing vocal range. The band also had the amazingly talented guitarist Jeff Loomis (check this guy out too), and in the live concert "Year of the voyager", Chris Broderick (of Megadeth fame). I often think of them as 1 of my top 3 favorite bands of all time (1 - Black Sabbath, 2 - Megadeth, 3 - Nevermore). Though there have many mind-blowing songs, I recommend "I, Voyager" for your first try, because it was the first song of theirs I was introduced to. If you ever give it a listen, I'll recommend a few others. Thank you guys, keep the awesome reactions coming :)
Follow up comment...the last words are a blessing...it translates loosely to "may it be of help". Check out Norupo which chants a rune poem and the video is BEAUTIFUL
Definitely more from this band! Specifically Norupo, it's a kickass music video. Also check out lyfjaber by Wardruna. It's for healing mountain and it's incredible
Delores O'Riordan from the Cranberries had a very similar sound. I know y'all have reacted to her. They use a Celtic wailing singing style calling keening.
According to Google Heilung's genre is Dance/Electronic. Their music is amazing to listen to whilst falling asleep, I do it all the time. Yes it gets me pumped but when it's finished I'm left with a deep sense of calm. Elivargar is a great song, it's filled with primal screaming. It's an experience.
Heilung knows the Frequency (My Frequency) !!! Please Review Heilung's 'Anoana'. My closest know when I cross into the next, that Heilung (especially Anoana) will be played to represent me. I Love the 3; Heilung, Jinjer & Nightwish (Trinity). I am so Pleased to have come across the The Two of You! You Both are Superior and very much in tune, having incredible energy!
I don't know what that drug is you're talking about, but this music is the best alternative for any kind of drug. Well, that's what I believe, can't really tell because I never used any, despite being Dutch (easy access).
Check out the interview we did with Jonas from Heilung and now with Nebala. ruclips.net/video/eWncsaIl1Mw/видео.html

I tell you some things about this song:
The song's title can be found in the Mesogothic Anglo-Saxon glossary as "In-Maidjan", which means "deceptively change" or "corrupt". This makes sense since the entire story within the album consists of a peaceful village that is corrupted by having to go to war. Therefore, Proto-Germanic seems to be the language.

Saawilagar Hateka - My name is Sawilagaz.
Harja - Army - leader of the army; commander; Warrior
Wuotani Ruoperath Wuotani - Oh, Wodan! Ruoperath - famous and brilliant.
This could be interpreted as the following:
I, Priest Harigast.
Aaccept the invitation (to battle)

Wow that would've been a fantastic experience!
Wow, so much but all so Beutiful and perfect ,you'll wlk earth now with peace .
I would have freaked out
I love how you said this is earth music.... I will never call it anything else, it's the perfect description for them
You want your mind blown, watch "Kulning ancient herding" calls by Jonna Jinton. Female Norse vocals that make the cows come home. If you want goosebumps.... heh.
She's amazing! I really enjoy her videos and Nanook whenever he's having a blast in the snow.
I get to see them at the Red Rocks in October, I CAN'T WAIT
Hell yes! saw them in NYC before covid but seeing the in red rocks is gunna be a TRULY Ethereal experience!
So how was it?
It reaches you on a primal level.
Saw heilung live in York back in Feb 2020, awesome show. If you are interested in playing more norse/pagan music I suggest wardurna.
Oh! You mean you saw them in Jorvik in Feb 2020 ;)
@@BaconNationChannel Aye i did, SKAL!
Wardruna was my gateway into Heilung.
I was at that show. Best Heilung show I’ve seen. The Energy was incredible and the audience seemed full of Pagans, Witches, Shamans, Voudoun, and new age spirituals. The energy was fantastic .
My last show before Covid was The 69 Eyes (from Finland).
If I'm not mistaken they are reciting the elder futhark runes in this
Check out Fylgija Futhorck on the lifa video, actual bone reading on stage 🤘
It's more of an experience than it is music.
Can't wait to see the Jonas interview. Heilung are so 🔥 Hope it's not 13 months until the next one.
A band that use no electronic instruments (outside the microphone) is so unique. Love them 🤟
Corvus Corax is another band that uses authentic instruments save for the microphone, but in a more medieval theme.
well, they do use some electronics for the background stuff.
Yeah lets not wait 13 months
Well...they do use a Looper and some vocal analogue synths so.....almost lol
Last show I watched before Covid hit was Heilung. Best performance live ever!
Almost more powerful that a deathcore breakdown: 14:26
You guys understand this shit. it's powerful. Much respect.
Please do more! I cannot wait for you to review one of the videos from their recent album where she has the lead: Norupo or Anoana. The images in their videos are amazing.
maria's voice grabs u by the soul. she has a powerful and beautiful voice
“Hamrer Hippya “ next. Think you guys would love that one.
Edit: “Hamrer Hippyer” . Sorry, I hate it when I misspell things.
Absolutely love your heilung reactions
The invocation of the runes, an amazing song.
Everybody gangster till the fucking trees start chanting in old norse
"SHE AINT EVEN WEARIN SHOES"
I dont know why, but that made me literally laugh out loud haha
More Heilung boys, I suggest Othan. Fun fact about that song: A sacred number to the norse is the number 9 and each measure in that song is 9 beats ;)
none of them is wearing any shoes......
I love this song!
For another aswesome song like this check out „Solringen“ by Wardruna or „Kvervandi“ by Einar Selvik & Ivar Bjørnson
Kvervandi, the electric version, is my favorite, what I call folk metal.
Oh yeah, finally:) Can't wait for other songs from Heilung.
Hey friends! The Vikings would also do "Flightings" where they would throw insults at each other and try to out-insult each other. Probably the same thing you're referring to in this video. :D So glad you discovered these lovely people!
This is the sound you wanna hear in ancient sacred places
Nice reaction, Well done boys! :) Greetings from the north!
I am so so sorry that happened to you :(, as someone who also has difficulty sleeping at night, may I suggest the following songs to help with sleep
1: Julie Fowlis - song of the seal
2: Ashley Serana - song of the sea
3: song of the sirens ( sorry I’m not sure the name of the vocalist)
4: Ice Kitsune- Derek Fiechter
5: Eruyt Village- Hitoshi Sakamoto
6: Eruyt Village- Benyamin Nuss
7: Isil Elun’falo ( night elf Kaldor)- Sharm
8: Siren song - Sharm
9: song to the siren - Eurille
10: Whispers- Eurille
11: Moonsong ( instrumental)- Adrian von Ziegler ( absolutely fantastic for helping with sleep in my personal opinion)
12: Mir Da’len Somniar - elf lullaby from Dragon age
13: Scent of night ( vocal cover or the instrumental is fantastic but both are rather dark so not if your in a very low mood unless your like me lol) - cant remember the name of the composer, my apologies
14: The Spirit Song - A Nordic Lullaby- by Jonna Jinton.
I hope that these are of use to you & wish you all of the best 😊🙏
I know yall are also Atlanta people, so you might be interested to know that Wardruna (you reacted to Helvegen) is playing Atlanta in October of 2022.
Maria Franz is such a great singer, love the band!
Talking about trance! When I watched the full concert LIFA for the first time I was just exhausted and happy and crying, everything. So intense, absolutely insane.
You guys should react to the Heilung official music Norupo!!
They’re a local Aussie group out of Melbourne
They rock hard but really don’t take themselves too seriously. Their videos are, shall we say, something that really need to be experienced. A few of my favourites are “One Hand Killing”, “Coming For You”, “Sick” and “Start The Fire”.
Thank you so much guys for all the videos you put out, love your work, never change!
Love Heilung, you need to hear;
Anoana official video, Norupo, Fylgija ear, Othan and Alfadhirhaiti live at castlefest, traust
This band helped guide me deeper into my pagan ancestors roots and find animism 😍
@11min16 🤔...I mean they're in a trance... We're in a trance 👌👌👌 awesome review guys!💯
"Alfadhirhaiti" gotta be next!
She has the voice of mother earth nd the cosmos
🦋 Nevermore is an awesome Request. The First Song I ever Heard From Them Was ''Jenny'' RIP Warrel Dane
I imagine in my head the people that at Stone Henge back in the day rocked out to shit like this!
You really should check out Norupo. It's the song that got me started listening to Heilung. It's incredible.
Follow up comment...the last words are a blessing...it translates loosely to "may it be of help". Check out Norupo which chants a rune poem and the video is BEAUTIFUL
instrumentation heres the winfd heres the sea the wind is plenty the drone is nature for us
Definitely more from this band! Specifically Norupo, it's a kickass music video. Also check out lyfjaber by Wardruna. It's for healing mountain and it's incredible
Spike Dudley's finishing move was the acid drop, but was changed to the dudley dawg when he moved to WWE
last time I heard this kind of music... I was being sacrificed to the gods
Heilung is the sh*t! Loved watching y'all's reaction to this!!!! Watch ananoa by heilung. The official video!❤️🤓
Hey Guys i loved to watch u on Krigsgaldr and i realy enjoy u on this 1 Greets from Germany
Gotta do Japanese Metal. Wagakki Band - Senbonzakura
and the long chanting parts starting at about 11:00 take sooo much breath control
Delores O'Riordan from the Cranberries had a very similar sound. I know y'all have reacted to her. They use a Celtic wailing singing style calling keening.
Yeeeees!!!! I was wondering when you were gonna react to this song!
Best honest reaction
Love you guys!!! ❤️👌👍🙏
Why would you search ANYTHING on Google?
@@scythianking7315 why would you not?
Heilung knows the Frequency (My Frequency) !!! Please Review Heilung's 'Anoana'. My closest know when I cross into the next, that Heilung (especially Anoana) will be played to represent me. I Love the 3; Heilung, Jinjer & Nightwish (Trinity). I am so Pleased to have come across the The Two of You! You Both are Superior and very much in tune, having incredible energy!
these guys are super interesting. great video guys! Keep on rockin' in the free world!
Devildriver - The Mountain
Unearth - Endless
Everybody gangster until the forest starts screaming at you in germanic and banging drums.
I don't know what that drug is you're talking about, but this music is the best alternative for any kind of drug. Well, that's what I believe, can't really tell because I never used any, despite being Dutch (easy access).
Thats so good .....back to the roots
I think y'all should check out FAUN- Walpurgisnacht or Federkleid. It's like medieval primal German music
