    I think this is the perfect tutorial for this under a minute. It's so much easier to learn when you know exactly what is happening in the cup as you do it

      Yes, but you also need to use a round cup with a flat bottom.

    Like I've been trying this for about two years! I gave up until I watched this video, it certainly work! I think the first step is to brew the coffee first and then the mill, that made a big difference

    I’ve been learning but I still don’t understand why you need to tilt the cup when you pour the milk

      lets you get the spout of the milk jug closer to the coffee letting it sit on top of the crema rather than sinking under, also lets you pour bigger designs

    Ahhh what is that magical steamless steamer machine?
    Also, any tips for how to get my milk to “move around” more, so that there’s separation? I’ve worked a lot on my texture but it seems to just stay still as one white blob. Thanks so much in advance!

      you may be overaerating your milk, make sure it isn't tearing for too long - if you don't already know tearing is the loud noise it makes when the spout is only a few millimetres below the surface of the milk, when it tears like that it introduces air into the milk making it dryer. you want to texture it (by putting the steamer to the bottom corner of the jug) for longer so that it becomes smoother, if there are no bubbles at this point you're doing it right - slow pour at a pencils thickness and there should be just enough microfoam to create some lovely art :)

    How do you get that milk so smooth? I have a Miss Silvia But it always just ends up one layer of hot milk, one layer of froth milk. I'm ashamed to admit I've probably made over 500 cappuccinos without great success...

      whole milk has the nicest thickness and consistency and is the easiest to work with, if you want to use a dairy alternative then go for a high fat barista specialised milk, alpro and oatly do some of these.

    You started too close to the middle, so the pattern didn't fill the whole cup. If you start closer to the edge and push forward with it, it will wrap around the whole canvas

      i think whole milk is the best, it's the milk protein that gets you a lot of foam too.
