Over time, exposure to the elements, and the sun, exterior vinyl and rubber surfaces start fade and begin to show their age.

Meguiar’s Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer is a great solution for making non-painted exterior trim and plastic look like-new again. This hand-applied cream brings new life to exterior rubber, vinyl, and plastic trim such as non-painted bumpers, moldings, door handles, rearview mirror housings, and windshield cowlings. Since it’s a thicker, hand-applied formula, you have full control without the risk of getting overspray on the surrounding paint. Ultimate Black quickly restores exterior vinyl and rubber creating rich darkness and shine while leaving behind outstanding UV protection. If your exterior grey or black trim isn’t looking as dark or as rich as it used to, Ultimate Black Plastic Restore will revitalize it, add a dark rich shine, and will offer much needed protection to defend against the sun and elements.

Tips for working with Meguiar’s Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer
Shake product well.
Always work on a cool surface and in the shade.
Make sure the surface you are working with is fully clean so that the trim restorer and protectant will perform its best with maximum shine, protection and durability.
If deep cleaning is needed, clean non-painted vinyl, rubber and plastic surfaces with product like Meguiar’s M39 Mirror Glaze Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner. Agitate thoroughly with a cotton terry towel or brush. Make sure vinyl, rubber or plastic is fully dry. By doing this you will thoroughly clean and remove all dirt, grime and pre-existing dressing.
Apply a small amount of Meguiar’s trim restorer onto a 100% cotton terry cloth towel or Meguiar’s Soft Foam Applicator Pad and apply thin, evenly and thoroughly to the desired area.
Wipe off excess with a separate clean towel.

Allow the trim restorer to fully cure on before introducing it to water, moisture or dew. Introducing treated trim to water prematurely can result in the product streaking, leaving a residue, or an uneven appearance.
2-3 thin applications may be needed for neglected areas.
Do not apply Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer glass, paint, tire tread, leather, motorcycle or bicycle seats and pedals. Keep off clear plastic. Not for use where a slick or glossy finish is not desirable.
Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer is also available in an aerosol version.

It looks like it worked pretty well. I need to get some of this for my car. Did it do anything to the paint if it got on there?
It didn't phase the paint in any way. Super easy to use
@@OurShowOurStory I will have to try. I was just looking at how faded it was on my car.
It really surprised me how good it was, it's not a perfect or permanent solution, but it's super easy and cheap
Also, be sure to let us know how it turns out!
How long does it stay like that. Thanks
Preparation is important. Degrease all the trim before applying the restorer and make sure all is dry.
How do you degrease it?
Two things worth noting. First of all, on the back if you peel the label from the bottom left corner you'll find the instructions (pretty well hidden) which do state 2-3 applications may be needed on neglected surfaces which definitely applies in this video.
Second of all, if you leave it 10 minutes and then go over it with a clean cloth (microfiber clothes work great), it will help to polish it off and really bring that finish up nicely.
Sorry, I noticed that you did reapply it, I would say that it's worth doing the polish with a clean cloth in between coats. Either way, it definitely made a big difference and looks much better.
@@tristan5428- For a very limited time.....
Appreciate the share. I had the same experience with this product. Easy to apply and lasts many weeks, or longer; and I live in Georgia so lots of intense sun and I have to park outside all the time. I just did my annual detail on my 99 4Runner. I did the plastic today, and tomorrow I'm gonna treat with Meguiars Hybrid Camiric Wax to provide additional protection and help the restorer last longer. For the rest of you, if you have not tried this product...do so.
I really enjoyed watching. It sure looks good and even a few weeks later it looks good! I gotta check out this product.
Thank y'all for watching! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Thanks for the review! Good to know it worked decent! Be safe.
Much appreciated!
@@OurShowOurStory 👍🏼
This video helps a lot.. much thanks
This product really does work i strongly RECOMMEND it well worth your money..
Looks like a great job!!
Thank you!
I has that product since couple of years and worked really good, I applied everytime when I wash the car and plastics gets darker always, all the plastics parts were faded and almost white similar as that chevy in the video
Hey! Great to hear, How long does it last?
I need to get a hold of a bottle of that. Thanks!
You won't be sorry
Wow! I will definitely be trying this on my 2013 Escape, bought it used and the trim has been faded ever since. Hopefully it darkens it 🙏
I just bought a bottle for a mustang I just picked up and I think I’m gonna wipe some acetone on the plastic parts before using that stuff. I don’t know for sure but maybe getting rid of all the oil and crap build up on the car may help this work even better or longer. Or it might go really bad. I guess I’m gonna find out.
Thank you for you're video
Glad you liked it
Nice one buddy
Much appreciated
I used the tire ultra shine for my plastic trimming. See it how goes it's been a week and still has shine to it but for the tires it didn't do a thing
It does say on the bad that it may need 3 or 4 coats if its super faded. But otherwise an excellent review!
Try Cartland black trim wax to cover all the spots then go over it again with maguires
Thank u
Works ONCE, until it rains or you wash your vehicle. Then another application over & over again is req'd. Between applications, you'll find it attracts/collects dust and road particles. Merely a topical treatment doomed to fail....You'll use up several bottles of this stuff in the time one application of Cera Coat is still working.....And STILL working.... & still working........Took the Meguires stuff back to Walmart & bought Cera Coat
Does it come off on your skin or clothes after it dries? I don't like when it comes off after it is suppose to be dry.
Try Cerakote next time. More expensive but does not have to be re-applied for a long time, like up to 2 years.
Will definitely look it up soon! Thanks
This is the only product that had worked for me on my vehicles I already tried other stuff but nothing really works
We really liked it, but have noticed after 4 months I need to re-apply.
During my normal monthly wash and clean, I give my ‘05 Avalanche a quick wipe down and it looks good, not great. The Avalanche looks good for a old truck, not new.. I don’t worry about peeling, chipping, or damage to the cladding done during the prep for paint. This method is not a permanent fix, but my opinion it is best for a little extra work.
Would a light coat of it work for dark grey trim or is this specifically for dark black plastic trim?
It's not color specific
It says not to get it on paint. How do you apply it to the trim on the outside of the car without getting it on paint ? Help
It didn't bother the paint at all
@@OurShowOurStory ok I just did my wheel trim. I just didn’t wanna mess up my car
I like 👍
the thing is meguiars products have a lot of greasy ingredients so once you apply it after the next three months the sun will take the color away from the plastic and will dry off the paint of the plastic
it’s always good to look at the ingredients
didn't work too well on my xterra, it faded after a day or 2.
Oh wow, mine lasted for at least 6 months
whats the update on the product ?
It had to reapply after about 6 months, but wasn't a big deal. I would probably expect to maintain the look you would have to do that. Since then I traded it in for a jeep...
Sorry Carplan black trim wax
What are the odds, I also have a first gen equinox 😂
I guess you still have to reapply every so often, but I was worried about when it rains, if you had to reapply after it rained every time, it doesn't seem to be the case with this, which is good, thank you for this video I appreciate it😁
It held up for several months, but I actually need to reapply it myself. Good thing is was super simple to do
Hi
It’s my bday!
Happy Birthday Addie! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Suprised that it didn't get darker with another coat. Will this product stain your hands?
Amazingly, no!
Use painter tape and mask the paint.
It didn't seem to affect the paint in any way...
Owatrol Polytrol is better in my experience, last very long. Just pray some on an applicator and apply to the plastic.
I didn't see it on the shelf, do you have to order it?
I used that before and the result don’t last , what does work for me and for permanent results is using a propane torch and heat the trim just enough without melting in a left to right motion
The application is simple enough to repeat, I'd love to try the torch but just can't muster up the courage to do it
This product is not the best choice it dose not soak in to the plastic furthermore it prevents the next product from penetrating until its soaped off
It is a quick fix still searching for a product that actually penetrates the material to give a long term solution I'm getting the exact same situation as you are getting under the headlight where you can actually see the ripples from the injection molding process
Good vid thank you Sir
Did you find a better product?
@@OurShowOurStory so far Creakote has been the most effective but not actually penetrating but leaving the surface black evenly the longest
I'll definitely have to check it out
@@desolategrey Cerakote is one of the longest lasting.....over a year!
I use many many meguiars products but this one isnt that great
It's the only product of theirs that we have used, what product(s) would you recommend?
@@OurShowOurStory When it comes to retail products just stick to meguiars and chemical guys. Turtle wax and mothers are also good but the other companies just have far superior stuff most of the time.
The Lord Jesus loves you so much !!!
Amen!

I'd just paint it with some cheap car paint spray
😂🤣😂🤣
