Solution finish is the only product worth buying for restoring plastic. It’s not a topical protectant like most. It actually dissolves the oxidation and penetrates into the plastic to restore it to 100% like new. Every other product has to be applied just about every time you wash your vehicle and most often leaves a really inconsistent look.
I totally appreciate the honest review. But listening to you guys say Meguiars was a little rough. I understand the language thing. But its ma gwy errs lol. Did my best there. Thanks again guys 👌
Hey I could careless about how you pronounced anything, I personally appreciate your video and taken the time to do it. It helped me alot, y'all keep having fun and helping me out. PEACE
You should definitely try "solution finish"! You're welcome. Once you use that, that's the only thing you will use from that day forward. Its actually made from carbon and is designed to soak into your plastics. That's what all the pros use.
Ditch the music when you are talking, harder to hear you. I have 2, Mother's and Turtle, both work fine for me. Turtle seems like more of gel to me than liquid.
Griot's Garage used to make a product called: "Bumper & Trim Reconditioner" (Item11183) that was a black dye... I used it on my new to me H2 as soon as I got it and it literally lasted 8 years till I sold it. I have no idea why they stopped making it....?
Thank you for the feedback! Looks like based on the comments we are gonna have a round 2 with mostly online products. Maybe we can have viewers send us products they recommend so we can test them!
Well, how to keep this brief.... so call protectants are mainly water, glycol (antifreeze) and sand (silica). To make this combo work requires emulsification. Silica is holds mid level UV reflective values and is harmless. The emulsifier(s) and the glycol are the bad bits! Glycol is used to maintain hydration or keep the surface wet. That old tire or faded trim look great when it rains... right? That's what protectants do...Temporary hydration of the substrate. Glycol is also neurotoxin SO bad idea on interiors. The emulsifier(s) will eventually breakdown any surface especially when it remains active due to the hydrating effect of the glycol.
Pro Tip: don't clean your plastics or furnishing, or anything in your car for that matter, with paper towels. Fibers break off and get stuck in the microscopic pores found in most materials, and it will make products less effective, and can actually make certain parts worse (leather in particular). Use a microfiber towel instead. They are cheap, reusable, and do a much better job at cleaning parts! From a 16 y/o (cause that's TOTALLY reliable) that is super OCD about their car, it makes a difference, and it'll help in the future. Cheers!
Will these work on grey trim?? I know they say back to black etc. but will they bring my dark smoke grey back to life? Just wanna make sure in case it’s more of a dye
