I'm not a huge Tau fan but their suits have a really nice mix of Appleseed/GitS/Macross vibes and they are mechanically really well designed, love them!
Oh heck yeah, that final Narwhal looks stellar! And with all the effect bits on it, it's just *chef's kiss* I do agree, one of the more common struggles with this one was getting it to fit well on the 170mm oval base, but that's just the way it goes when you're modeling around a completely different footprint like you were sayin', and the base you worked out does look real good~ I'm glad you guys liked the kit~ ~Pipes
Absolutely love your models and your art, I've been looking at them for a while and I think I'll be looking to grab that Archerfish Broadside proxy some time soon. You made basically a perfect modernization of the oldschool Broadsides with shoulder railguns and I'm going to be excited to get them printed and added to my army!
Yes! Piper and TTT! From the ground up is how you need to build all her kits. The leg articulation is so good it would be a shame not to give them a scenic base for some dynamic poses.
I made a Tau titan back in the early 2000's from a Lego Bioncle as the skeleton and I had always thought that the Tau titan would fly in and transform into a big crisis suit on landing. We are so spoiled now with 3-D printers, truly a golden age for modeling if only GW would accept it :P
Piper makes was the first patreon I subbed to about 2 months before my first printet ever came in too lol. Never have had any issues with the presupported files and really made my early 3d printing experience such a nice experience
i shed 2 tears. one when i saw the final model, its simply a good sculpt great base and just amazing execution from idea to painting it, love tau and Japanese culture so it hits harder. the second tear was when i saw the printer's price and how proprietary it seems
Sakura T'au are a beautiful scheme, and I love what you've done with your models! They definitely inspire me to take my army beyond just "contrast ready".
This is such an epic model and paint job. Glad I watched it. Also nice to see a 3D printer that actually does everything and doesn't take a year of study to set up and use.
the tau bits painted in metallic colours (u used more of a red colour in this video) are actually pieces that balance the parts. For example, u can see they're in the tau pulse rifles, and that helps to stabilise the gun to guarentee a straight shot.
PiperMakes deserves a lot of recognition for the quality of the print results. Even on low quality printers Pipers models turn out well. I credit that to the high quality of Their designs. Great build and paint job! Love the vid and collaboration!
Oh hell yeah! All the videos you guys make are great, but my favorite are when you're making/painting units for your armies. I love the personal touches you put in to them, and seeing them grow in number to form a proper army over time is the kind of thing that got me into this hobby in the first place.
Okay thanks to this I now want to spend way to much in order to have a full army of pipermakes tau proxies, I just went through her catalogue and I'm in love lol, they are what I wish tau really where
Amazing! I recently printed the Orca myself, which is the bipedal alternate build of this model. Really sweet, you should definitely feature more of Piper's models here.
I had no idea this existed, I love that. That is so much more badass than almost any GW tau model, especially with that beautiful paint job! My tau paint scheme is inspired the Hyperion color scheme from borderlands 2. I think that might have to be painted as the BNK3R.
@@404dne true, but think how cool that could be narratively. big fucking machine and a small supporting force vs a few big tanks and some devastators trying to take down the big fucker. like one of those halo 2 scarab missions
Still love your color scheme for your Tao army. This one came out so great! Those clear details, to dream for. And I agree with Dave that wiggle is seriously entertaining.
I absolutely love this channel!! From the Epic 40k to the absolutely tiny miniature painting like the risk board and small kingdoms, its absolutely amazing. Shout out to the best faction Sakura Tau!! 🌸 They are what got me interested in 40k ❤
The result is incredible! I love pipermakes work and you put her model in a such beautiful way! I have no word for it :) And this video was very interesting with how you select steps to show. Really really thank you for your work!
Absolutely knocked it out of the park :). Such a cool aesthetic and colour scheme on a very unique and dynamic model really gets my greater good instincts going
I've been really excited to see more Tau from you! This is quite the monster!! Those SFX are just stunning. Those printers are a dream as well! I love the wibbles!
Epic model, and paintjob. Also amazing printers... I desperately need access to clear prints. I was about to use my old valkyrie model as scenery since i lost the pilot canopy ...
Piper makes some awesome models, ive got a kill team made up of her models, i would recommend them to everyone, all presupported and ive never had an issue with them not printing correctly
The Narwhal, designed by the legendary Earth Cast engineer Fio’o Sakura Po’pir. It was originally envisioned to replace the KV-128 Stormsurge. However, due to its unconventional design and material cost only a handful have made it past trial stages. When deployed alongside the fire warriors of the Sakura Sept, Narwhals cause quite the commotion…
I always print in clear resin, you never know where you may want transparent effects. Especially if I print DnD characters capable of turning invisible! Awesome build, thank you for sharing!
So obviously this video is sponsored by the 3D printer but props to the model designer for making such a posable model as well. I feel like they didn't really go into any detail about how great the modelling was.
So, those weird little decorations on the T'au that they all have (except on the guns, where they are like a gyro stabilizer thing) are really just tactical decorations. It's like the tactical rock, but for armor and weapons
Definitely get some flex plates for your guys other printers if you don’t like to take print heads off, best purchase for resin printers. For sure makes me want to work on my tau and customize them!
I would honestly love it if GW made mechas in this style for the Tau. Not everything needs to be a bipedal anthropoid, and the drone-silhouette is pretty iconic.
you REALLY should checkout The LIC's models! The lore you have for your army would really fit the fact she makes tons of Gue'vesa style models! The Sharksucker Stealth drone is my fav!
I love the overall design of this model, I like Dave's sakura theme, and how all these all fit together! I also appreciate the the nice looking effects of the weapons firing. However, I think that is too much. All the rockets going off and that cannon firing kind of distracts and "noises" the otherwise somber aesthetic of the model. In this case, I think less would have been more. In any case, it is still an awesome result!
Super glue accelerator and/or pins would have made your feet placement a lot easier for you. If you do use accelerator, don't use the spritz, I unscrew it and use the straw to add a drop or two.
Fucking hell you can tell when you guys are using a model for personal reasons. The quality on this was actually insane. When it all came togeather my jaw dropped
Sp you got the stl file. You gor the printer. I actually thought you would be making a conversion. Or do something more than paint and base (although very well, looks fantastic!!!) a model .

I wish I had a 3D printer it just to expensive
How long did it take to print?
We need more Piper Makes Models on this channel!
I do agree with you we should have more.
Eh. Her stuff is kinda overrater tbh
@@johnfroh6774 well I saw her triggerfish heavy grav tank and I thought it was impressive.
@@johnfroh6774 they are the best proxy overhall available for tau right know so far from being overrated.

Amazing model piper! Thanks for sending it to us. We love it! Poseability was amazing and it went together a treat.

Love the Sakura Tau aesthetic, hope to see them in an other battle report soon! :D

So happy to see PiperMakes getting some love on this channel. Great and flexible mech models.
The model looks amazing and love how you painted it looking forward to more of the same army
Always nice to see tau representation
This models fits so beautifully into tau aesthetic, looks more like a crab than a narwhal though

Sakura T'au are a beautiful scheme, and I love what you've done with your models! They definitely inspire me to take my army beyond just "contrast ready".
All around, this one is The Bomb. Love the printer, the print, the model, the base work and of course the paint job. Just WOW
This is absolutely gorgeous. I love how those flower petals fly.
This is such an epic model and paint job. Glad I watched it. Also nice to see a 3D printer that actually does everything and doesn't take a year of study to set up and use.

(finished the video during the previous upload) banger job on the model!💛💛
Thankyou for sticking with it and sorry. Perchance a second watch through in the background for the algorithm ;)
@@TabletopTime oh absolutely! Nothing to apologize for though 😊
bloody stunning model, altogether

I follow piper for a long time now and all the models are glorious and come out wonderfully. 40000% talent
The foot in air makes it an action pose AND adds 10 style points.
Also, imagine calling ModPodge PVA glue when they’re 2 different things.
I did not realize you could get resin that clear, at least not without casting it.

I printed this same model as well. She makes the best proxy models. Her newer version of this model is even more epic.
Been looking into a 3D printer. This one seems incredible. Might need to research further. Great vid too!
Fantastic Model, can't wait to see more Tau content
15:27 - one little extra smell never hurt anyone!
The metallic looking gyros are suppose to serve as stabilizers and shock absorbers.
Wow, that is one gorgeous model. Very well done!
Man that ad is funny cause you can almost see the page with script (mainly because outside of ad there is a lot of more energy in what he says xD )

This looks amazing. I hope you will put it on display at the shop. I would love to see it in person.
Holy heck!

That 3D printer set looks amazing :O If only I had the space to put one (and the money to afford one :P).

Loving these big model builds.
I've printed some of Piper's stealth suits! Such great models!
Every time Dave talks about the printer I can't help but to hear him calling it "Haggis" instead. Very entertaining:)
I've got a bunch of pipers mechs they are all awesome as hell.

My top tip is to use the mrhobby gundam pin washes. They are excellent for tight places.
nice ! You now have your first shaker machine to start an opal mine xD
"And in todaves Video...."
I was surer I heard that at the start of the video XD
Haven't even started the video, but I hear "return to Sakura Tau" I click 'like' 😁

Look up how to refill spray can with air may help in the future
Amazing guys, love your work!
Would love to see a battle report with this model, keep up the content Guy
I’m seeing some Halo Wars 2 Scarab inspirations in the leg armor.
Fellow Tau player here. Keen to get a hold of the Sakura Tau.
Fucking hell you can tell when you guys are using a model for personal reasons. The quality on this was actually insane. When it all came togeather my jaw dropped
Reminds me of a Tachikoma, even if it doesn't really look like one.
did you post cure the transparent resin? did it cloud slightly? and have you tried zona paper to polish it back to completely clear?
It did and a spray of gloss varnish brought it back instantly
Incredibly impressive!!! ❤😊
Amazing model 😮
We didnt get to see the reveal of the OSL of the cockpit did we...!! Fantastic proxy either way.
More Sakura Tau! More PiperMakes models!!
missed opportunity to LED the clear resin effects damn that would have elevated this.
*turns on the washer*
"Commence the jigglin'!"
everything is pretty good I just think that the main gun transparent energy blast is kind weird, I think is the side spikes that just look weird.
Honestly if the T'au had more vehicles like this I might actually play them.
